REVIEWS OF Pingo Bakery - Seafood House IN Alaska

The food is great but I wish there were more seating options. Social anxiety skyrockets as soon as I walk through the door and see the labyrinth of half-filled tables

Megan Mackiernan

Best food in Nome, always. Crowded, plan on sharing a table or coming early, but hey, good way to meet new friends. Highly recommend the seafood mac-n-cheese or the waffles (or pretty much Anything else on the menu). The pastries are heavenly!

Marilyn Beaverstock

I was there last year for the Iditarod92013) and ate there many times. Soup and bakery items so good on a cold day. The Chef/Owner and staff were very friendly. Only wish I could be there this year

Loved the homely feel of having dinner here. With only limited seating I had a family of three join me at my table which turned out to be fantastic. I really enjoyed the food and lemonade. I am looking forward to breakfast tomorrow.

Katherine Garrison

The food is excellent, the staff friendly and helpful, the prices reasonable for Nome. I really enjoy coming here

Bought a pie here today.. love blackberries! What a pity they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.. the place is very small, i noticed three tables only, not sure if there are more tables on the 2nd floor.. while waiting for a pie, I saw soup, salad and fish plates, everything looked very tasty. Will definitely come here on Wednesday!

The only bad thing about Pingo is that it's closed on Monday and Tuesday in the winter. So you may have to stock up on almond croissants and chocolate cinnamon rolls Sunday afternoon and hunker down until it reopens on Wednesday. If your karma is really good they will have the crab/halibut mac n cheese special.

Autumn Gould

One of the best places to eat in Nome.

Want to feel like your part of civilization? Come here to treat yourself to something made from scratch and delicious. The hours are odd and hard to remember though.

Freshly baked bread and pastries, along with a changing daily menu make this a must for lunch and/or dinner during the week. On the weekends, they open early for breakfast.

My food was very good. Staff is very friendly. Great cup of coffee. Only wish for tables. The baked goodies are yummy.

Mike Fay

Highly overrated. The baked goods pictured, in no way resemble the actual product. Had the flavor of cardboard . Underbked.

A diamond in the rough... the food is beyond amazing... the cinnamon rolls are HUUUUUUUUUGE and to die for... chocolate chips are fabulous. Crab pizza is yummy.

Seafood breakfast Awesome

Their food is ALWAYS great. Eats there at pingo are so flavorful, the dishes are unique, healthy and delicious. The place is a bistro type of vibe and it's dining area has about 3 tables in it.... I wish they had more of a dining area. Honestly of finding a place to sit is your worst complaint at the dinner table, then you're in the right spot.

Evan Gardner

Small little restaurant where you are one of 3 or 4 tables with a kitchen 15 feet away. We stopped in right after getting off the plane. We all walked in and asked what the special sandwich was...gal looks over and the person in the kitchen was shelling crab legs, “fresh crab salad sandwich.” We’ll take 3! Great hoagie roll and tasty crab. Might have wanted just a tiny bit more crab with the lettuce and tomato but otherwise very good. Wish we would have tried the soba noodle dish.

amy graham

Erika is the best. Her food is always good. Even when you don't think you like something. Hers will make you change your mind ! And the pastries are perfect. As are the cookies.

I went here just getting off the plane to Nome and I was very hungry...I was not disappointed. The menu for lunch was pretty limited but was made up for by quality food. I had the halibut chowder. Delicious. Service was friendly. The place is small with only four tables. Easy to strike up a conversation with locals about things to do.

The baked goods are delicious! My personal favorite was the plumb cake made with almond flour! It was so light and the flavor was on point, as with the other baked goods. I also split a salmon omlet with my husband, which was very tastey! The service was excellent! Such a cute shop. I'll definitely be returning.
