Service was pleasant and food looked good, but couldn't afford to pay $17.50 for a small slice of quiche, or $14 for a piece of spanikopita. Fair warning: the plates in the display, despite being saran wrapped on a single plate in a single piece, are considered two pieces. I'm sure it's tasty, but that is misleading and practically robbery to charge $7 for a piece of spanikopita the size of a KitKat (half of the piece on display).

Ordered food was not tailored properly. Customer service needs major improvement. Maybe the lady on that particular day had a bad day. Overall food is decent; very good atmosphere for a good dining but as mentioned earlier food order and customer service needs serious work.

The cinnamon raisin bread was still warm and moist. It was whole wheat so it was healthy. The Spent grain bread had a thick crust and was soft inside. A meal in itself. I feel it's the best bread I have had in alaska.

Customer service needs much improvement. I waited for over 45 minutes for a bagel sandwich. Ended up leaving without it. Don't go here unless you plan on staying for a while. Otherwise the food is good.

Great pizza and foods made with care and attention to detail. Fantastic bakery items, drinks selection, and so much more. For rhubarb fans: Try the rhubarb-ade - it is amazing- not too sweet! I wish it were canned so I could bring it home.

An odd experience. Generally unfriendly staff. The brownie I had was undercooked; it had a small ball of water or oil in the middle, which I don't understand how that happens. Some guy was hammering up some pictures which was annoying. Also, I watched them inform a customer at 3:50 that they couldn't make her a pizza until 4. No explanation. Their oven seemed on--another confusing aspect of the visit. That customer simply turned and walked out.

Love the vegan options they offer but the front desk gal didn't seem to know what vegan meant as she assured me that one of their sandwiches was vegan even though it had cheese. Another server came to help and she was wonderful. The food however was just meh. It's a cute place though. We found a table and it was quiet.

Omg is Like finding a great place in the woods to enjoy ur self to a great everything food. I love pizza and they make it just the way you want it. Wood oven thin crust and ur palette to painted with ingredients 5thumps up. If you driving to Denali must detour.

I'm surprised this place got good reviews. We got the chicken-n-rice soup for about $12 a bowl, and it was so extremely bland. Absolutely no taste. My friend with me agreed. It was served with stale hard tasteless bread. They brag about how their oatmeal cookies are "oh so healthy" without butter, without sugar, but they taste like sawdust. The girl behind the counter let it be known how overworked she was, and while there were only 5 other people in the place (already seated and eating), she was so very flustered, and we stood at the counter for over 10 minutes trying to order. Then I needed condiments (not given), but gave up asking at the counter, because the girl was no where to be found. I think she was hyper-ventilating somewhere because she was so very overworked with the 7 of us in her café. However, I liked the looks of the building and the orange walls inside (very inviting). I think people get fooled with the health claims. Food was like eating straw.

Flying Squirrel is a great option for grabbing a quick meal or enjoying a cup of coffee with a good book. It is a comfortable cafe with friendly staff and a delicious menu. I would definitely recommend eating here if you are in the area!

We stopped here for an Americano & hot chocolate to go. The coffee turned out to be EXTREMELY WEAK, and the hot chocolate should have just been called hot milk. It was nice to have a cup of hot milk, but not when you pay for hot chocolate. I tasted NO chocolate in the drink.

A great place to stop and enjoy something to eat, especially for breakfast! The staff was friendly and helpful. There’s plenty of parking out front and there are signs to identify when to pull off the main road.

Good place to stop for breakfast if you have a car. Avocado on toast delicious and they have a selection of cakes they bake on the premises. Also try the local birch water. Self service and self clear.

Nice breakfast stop off. Greeted by gorgeous aromas of bakery, the rather lovely serving girl with unusual pearcings, was friendly and cute. I ordered a breakfast with additional cheese, egg and bacon... It was nice enough, but without the adds it'd have been slim pickings. I'd recommend it if only to check out the locals and work out whether having your cheeks pierced hurts as much as I think it did.

Really good, fresh food. The Alaskan Salmon pizza was cooked beautifully and had a lot of flavor. Fresh baked pastries are unique, so they could be hit and miss according to your tastes. I was a little disappointed that they don’t serve their full menu all day. The place can be hard to find so have good directions and slow down when you’re getting close. But overall, we really enjoyed this unique place.
