Great coffee and bakery
Awesome fudge!
Friendly service and good pastry
An Alaskan native told me about this bakery at the Alyeska entrance, clustered in with other shops & a Tesoro gas station. They serve coffee and lots of sweets including donuts & giant, palm spread size cookies. I bought a peanut butter chocolate chip & plain chocolate chip cookies. Friendly staff.

massive donuts, brownies etc. Little spendy, but a good treat for a long drive.

Everything is good! So delicious, we always stop here when we're on the road.
The cookies are huge here! And they taste great too.
Good
Omg
Large portions and fresh pastries. Ordered a breve latte that hit the spot. Friendly staff. I must have gotten there at peak time. Line was 7 deep.
Delicious donuts and coffee was good too
Brownies are a rip off. Cookie average. Apple fritter above average. Coffee is a light roast, may need to double your shots for the flavor. Would give a 2 star, but the fritter, friendly batista who gave me an extra shot in my americano, and my wife thought the cookie was decent gave it the 3 stars .
It got great apple fritters
Friendly staff and delicious desserts and baked goods and wonderful homemade soda drinks
Best fritters but the absolute worst coffee around.
Always good to go!
Delicious baked goods
What a great Cafe. They have everything.
They have a sign stating that they will start implementing $10 minimum for credit cards in mid May. This would be fine if they served a quality product. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who has been to a real bakery. Their recipe for scones is really a muffin recipe, albeit not a good one. Their canned filling for their apple turnovers is sickeningly sweet and unpleasant. $9 for a scone and turnover that I couldn't eat and I have never turned down a baked good. I don't like giving one star to small businesses but the food was just that bad and overpriced.
They have coffee and rather large pastries. However, it is rather expensive and greasy. Nonetheless, if you need something to drink and eat, it is in a convenient location along the highway and at the branch to the resort.
We got a peanut butter cookie, apple turnover, and a cinnamon roll. The roll was delicious.
GIANT CINNAMON ROLLS
The raspberry was great,
Cool to walk around
This place has coffee, espresso drinks, pastries, donuts....all sorts of great stuff to eat!
Baked goods were fabulous as was the coffee.
Prices may seem a little high, but they have to manage to stay in business somehow. The owner is very friendly when he is there, the rest of the staff is mediocre. The pastries are a gift from heaven.
Best bakery!! Fresh, awesome donuts I assume are made with quality ingredients because normally a frosted donut covered in sprinkles hurts my teeth but not theirs!!
Doughnuts were great, the coffee was not...
Cappuccino was placed on high top counter, not given to us, or told where / how to find it, as if we're suppose to know the store operations procedures. Burned our fingers on hot coffee paper cups, yet there are insulation wraps for hot cups stacked unrecognizably on countertop. Again the customer is suppose to know that the insulation wrap sleeve is suppose to be placed on the paper cup BY the CUSTOMER to protect hands from the hot coffee. We are not offered or directed to do so by the attendant employee. The very hot coffee was inadvertently dropped and spilled. Trash littered the concrete sidewalk and the one picnic table in front of the store was littered. There are no trash receptacles outside the store. Other than the filthy picnic table, there is no seating. We stopped by Alpine Bakery after having left Chair 5 Restaurant where Gingerale was flat, no fizz. Hefe beer was fine. House salad ok. Red King Crab Cakes and Halibut appetizers were served to us overcooked, not fresh, and barely warm. We departed after we found we could not eat our awfully prepared food. We were offered a dessert. We declined wanting a satisfying dinner meal. One waitress was incredibly rude. I looked in to a pizza place a few doors from Alpine Bakery to see if there were good options in there. But no. Drove back to Chugiak. The beautiful scenic drive never dissapoints.
Baked goods are not so good. The three berry sconces are nothing but biscuits with berries not sweet at all. I got the coconut pecan bar that was a waste of money. The items are big but the taste is not on point.
My family went on a cruise summer 2016, and we had to take a taxi cab to the airport one morning. Our taxi driver made a pit stop at the gas station around the corner from this place, and told us that we had to try the stuff from the bakery. Needless to say, everything there that I got was amazing! I cannot remember exactly what I got, but I know that I got some fritters. They were so good! They were the best fritters that I have had in my life! They were crunchy and not soggy at all! They were also so tasetful! Great service and great food!
Best blueberry fritter!
Delicious!
Fresh baked goods and a delicious smoothie. Thanks!
Paper goods and plastic have overwhelming smell of must. It's also in the store.
Flies in the case with the food... PASS!
This was one of the stops while we were with the 907 Tours LLC. Everything was great!!!! Must make this one of your regular stops!!!!
When entering they had a sign on the door buy 2 get one free basically, after choosing a berry scone $5 and an apple fritter $5 I asked about my free item and he said oh they are different you get nothing,he then told me I have to buy all the same thing to get 3rd for free. I would say maybe the posting should be more specific to items bought to receive a free item, who wants all the same thing from a bakery with variety. I was also disappointed in the scone it was very bland even with a bite with berries they were not sweet at all, it could have used some glaze of some sort. My apple fritter was also disappointing for $5, it had a few tiny pieces of apple and just a lot of bread.
We had the worst service this morning at this location. I was stopping by at 10:20am in the morning the bakery says it opens at 8am. The lights were on but no one was in sight. Checked the doors they were unlocked. Ok I understand sometimes small towns have just one person running the whole show and might be in the back that's fine. We walk in and start to choose what we would like to order. A minute pass no one comes (even though there is a door chime so they know people are waiting). Two minutes pass we found the Bell and rang for service, 5 minutes pass no one shows up ring the bell again still no one comes or responds. At this point we are wondering if we should just leave and we would have if our toddlers weren't heart set on having a doughnut now. 6 minutes we call out "hello anyone here" at this point we can hear someone working in the back. 8 minutes we walk back to the kitchen and ask for service from a young women who was just standing in the kitchen.... The girl proceeds to tell that we can't come in the kitchen. Which I completely understand under normal events we wouldn't however we have been waiting for almost ten minutes waiting, rang the bell, called out. At this point we wanted to know if anyone was even in the building or if we should just leave because clearly the door was unlocked on accident. There was no way the girl hadn't heard us. She proceeded to say she knew we were up front but have to finish a phone call... There was no phone in site when we finally found her. Again I would have understood finishing a phone call but there is no good reason she couldn't have popped her head around and said she would be out in a minute. Terrible service bad attitude to match. This could have been resolved rather easily by letting us know you have heard us, having a sign on the counter to let people know about a delay. Having worked in the service industry I would have never thought to treat a customer like this.
(Translated by Google) Very tasty everything, but the worker with very ugly attitude no reason why I do not return. (Original) Muy sabroso todo, pero la trabajadora con muy fea actitud nomas por eso no vuelvo.
Savory spinach and feta Danish was warm and yummy.
stop here! so many delicious things in one place!!!
You have to stop here so many great things.
Good pastries and best chai we have had in Alaska.
Love their freshly baked goods, it costs a bit, but it's worth ever penny. Support local, community run businesses and enjoy their treats. PS I've learned that if you're buying alot, a drip coffee may just be on the house.
Excellent place!!
Posted business hours open at seven open at 7:45 only to try to get charged four dollars for a two day old danish I will never come back to this whole again
Expensive very exspensive
Amazing cookies!!
Disappointing. Prices were high and pastries were old.
(Translated by Google) There are a variety of breads, some of which were quickly soldered out. (Original) 다양한 빵이 있는 곳.어떤건 빨리 솔드 아웃돼서 없더군요
The best of the best in Alaska! Delicious!
A great little bakery with a few good options for giant sized baked goods. The coffee is hit or miss--you may get a friendly barista that makes a tasty latte or you'll get a grumpy guy who scalds the milk and makes your drink taste like the vending machine equivalent of instant coffee. Could go either way!!
Good night pace to stop between Anchorage and Seward for coffee and donuts in the morning. Also perfect for Alyeska guests.
Wide selection. Good buy for price
I have been to Girdwood each summer for 3 years, and I go to the Alpine Bakery several times on each trip. The BEST donuts in the known universe, bar none. Simply awesome, your life literally is not complete till you try this place!
The baked goods were delicious, I knocked one star off only because the employee was rude. We ordered our goodies and coffee, as I'm waiting for her to make my coffee she comes back to the register to help another customer, but first she looks at me and asks if I was going to want my cookies since they were still on the counter as I was still waiting for my coffee... (well duh i want the cookies i just paid $25 for) I told her yes but I was still waiting for that coffee I ordered and she rudely responded its sitting on the counter over there pointing to where the small line of people were all standing. My bad, let me just get those cookies out of your way, grab my diaper bag and my child sitting in his carseat and grab my coffee. Didn't mean to put her out! Maybe I was the rude one. I get that everyone has a bad day, but when you're in the service industry you leave your problems at the door.
Love this place!
Great pastrys
Apple strudel? Or hollow piece of bread?
Delicious mocha, friendly excellent service.
Pretty good food and way cheaper than the resort.
Way too overpriced. Niko is greedy. Same way when he was in Seward.
Berry scones really good.
Girl, you worked the night shift on 8/9 around 7 p.m. and gave me the wrong coffee. I'm lactose intolerant and asked for soy. 8 oz in and my suspicians were confirmed. Please be more careful. The prices here are extrordinary, but still, I've always enjoyed the coffee here before this surprise.
Yummy sourdough bread. Wonderful flowers outside. Staff wasn't super friendly
Good place to get a smoothie and wonderful down.
Decent donuts and a nice little stop for a cheese and ham sandwitch.
Our group of 12 ate here one night, and while the restaurant itself is a little dirty and run-down, the food was fantastic. They preferred cash to using the credit card, and even gave us a discount to use cash. Strange, but food was good.
Overpriced and not very good
Fast friendly service great coffee and baked goods
Good pastry and coffee
Great pastries.
Delicious place! Try the bear claw!
Amazing pastries! The coffee is a special blend that I can’t find anywhere else. I always stop here on my way to Anchorage.
Great coffee and hugh assortment of baked goods
Great place to grab a snack!
Only place on Seward hiway close to Anchorage to grab a designer coffee and fresh made pastries. No inside tables.
Good coffee and baked goods.
Terrific blueberry fritters!
(Translated by Google) Between Anchorage and Seward. They have very rich things. (Original) Entre Anchorage y Seward. Tienen cosas muy ricas.
This place is a pass.
Great bakery. Summer help especially one lady in particular was horrible. The stable winter workers are GREAT.
Decent little bakery
Excellent service! The owner is an outstanding man and his employees were terrific! I couldn't ask for a better experience!
Expensive for the quality. Holiday convenience stores apple and blueberry fritters come in at a higher level and at 1/4 the price. We were so looking forward to the cinnamon rolls ($5) for dessert after supper that night (about 3 hours after purchase and in the container they sold it to us in). it's basically just bread with little bit of cinnamon very little icing and dry needing lots of melted butter. I'm trying not to be harsh but it was really $20 that we didn't have and we are trying to treat ourselves for the weekend. I wish we would have stopped at the grocery store on the way home.
Delicious pastries and pretty good coffee as well. A must if you're traveling through Girdwood.
Peanutbutter cookies are really good
Cheap food but I had the best cookie I've ever tasted. Goes well with coffee.
Tastey ice cream! I loved their fireweed and honey! It was especially good paired with the chocolate ice cream! Moose tracks were really good as well!
Did not try all their products but the feta cheese pastry and the coconut pecan desert...mmmm very tasty. Did not like the berry pastry.
Great variety of baked goods & coffee. Nice staff. Best blueberry muffin I've ever had.
With scones bigger than my first and a cafe americano to die for. I can't wait to stop by here again.
Our donuts were $4 a piece. I don't mind paying for quality, but when the majority of your pastry is just gooey raw dough...you feel cheated. Both of our donuts were uncooked (we each had different kinds). Very disappointed.
