We ordered a smash cake and some cupcakes from Alaska Cake Studio for my daughters first birthday (I was a loyal All Star Bakery patron, but I guess they are no longer around, unfortunately). We ended up only getting the smash cake, and without any decorations other than a generic bow because when the cake decorator spoke to my wife she explained how it wouldn't be worth the cost and time to have the cake decoration we requested made to be put on the cake. The prices were kind of high, but we weren't even complaining about the cost, it is our daughter's first birthday after all. You don't go to a bakery and get a special order cake and expect it to be cheap. Anyway, my wife was unimpressed by the fact that it was made into an inconvenience for the cake studio to fulfill an order placed well in advance, and we were willing to pay even the high prices we were quoted. After all that, we ended up cancelling the cupcake order. In conclusion, the cake and pastries there are good, the work is good too, but it's not worth the prices when combined with poor service.

A good alternative to the grocery store cakes of Anchorage for sure. We picked up a red velvet cake and it was tasty. Good icing, pretty moist, and not that much more than the mass produced alternative. The shop sells lots of other pastry and snack bites, as well as coffee. It's in the mall on the first floor, so it's in a good foot traffic location if you happen to be walking by. Check it out.

Stopped by here today everything looked so yummy! Looks can be deceiving! I got two small mousse. A key lime and coconut dreams the are so gritty. The flavor was good but grits and mousse do not belong together.

I love cAKe! They are my absolute favorite place to get baked goods. They are always able to make my picky requests happen! great customer service, if you have to wait do it. They give undevided attention, which makes it totally worth it. I prefer the fresh baked rather than their daily’s (mainly because I always have special requests). Oh! And on top of that when I was having card troubles they were so helpful and gracious. No place like it. Alaska love for cAKe studio!

This was the only location of four I called that was able to make the kind of cake I wanted with somewhat short notice. They had it ready and had great customer service when I picked it up. The consensus of everyone on the quality was that it could have been a little more moist (reason not 5 stars) it had beautiful presentation and it was delicious.

Since December, I have tried this place on three separate occasions. Twice I tried the cake slices and one I tried the Cupcakes. The cupcake was lovely. The Icing is always wonderful. Both visits where I had cake it tasted like stale cardboard. Obviously someone doesn't believe in using salt when they bake and also has trouble sifting. the cake borders on raw flour flavor and the texture is tough. It seems like a "european" texture is what is being sought after but with everything I mentioned before added in, it all just tastes like bad cake. I may come back to try the other baked goods, but don't make cake anymore... It's truly terrible.

This bakery goes above and beyond to satisfy their customers. Small business with a big heart. The desserts are delicious and the staff are very helpful, as well as polite! Definitely a “go to”.

We ordered a lemon cake for a friend. It was way too expensive. It was not very pretty. No design or flowers or anything on it. It was like a big heavy yellow blob. The frosting was extremely heavy and thick. When you cut into the 6" thick cake, it was supposed to be a four layer but was only 2 thick layers. It was a very ugly slice of cake. The cake was overcooked to where the edges was dark brown and inside was dried out. On a positive note, he lady that helped us was friendly and the cake was made very quickly.

Very disappointment in the cake. It tasted like cake mix from a box and the frosting from a can. The frosting was so sugary you could feel the grains. I got a cake with “buttercream frosting” there was nothing buttercream about it.

We stopped by the new 5th Ave Mall location on my birthday. We picked three items; a slice of whiskey cake, a slice of champagne cake, and a Guinness Cupcake. The frosting on each was buttercream, and was well made. The champagne cake was a bit dry, but the other two were moist and perfect. The flavors, while interesting, were mild. I would have preferred a stronger flavor from each of the cakes and frostings. What I mostly tasted was well made buttercream and cake, with a hint of whiskey, champagne, or Guinness. Turn up those flavors and I'd become a repeat customer. One more criticism, the cupcake was tiny compared to the mound of frosting on it. The frosting was literally larger than the cake. I don't know if this is a trend or what, but no thanks! I'd rather have the frosting remain an accent to the cake, rather than the other way around. Overall, I like cAKe Studio and will probably be back (though as a local I hardly go downtown, much less to the 5th Ave Mall) - but I hope those interesting flavors get a boost!

Cute little bakery with amazing pastries and chocolate. We ordered a variety of desserts and pastries and everything was delicious. If anything some things were a bit too rich and would have been better as a smaller serving. Overall it is a wonderful Bakery with very friendly staff.

Wonderful spinach dried tomato quiche!!! For $5 I was served a large portion with mouth watering flavor. Just ask for it to be warmed up and eat in the café or take it to go. Was a perfect breakfast with nice conversation with the staff. Will definitely return on my next trip to Anchorage.

My son's first b'day away from home in the airforce in Alaska. I ordered Christmas Eve and my son received on time at his dorm on 12/26/17.Delivery guy even delivered to his dorm room on base. Excellent service, my son said the cake was delicious, and his family was part of his birthday from CT. Thanks to the great bakery, resonable price, great service, and delicious cake!
