This place is a joke!! Dont waste your time calling these people!!! An attorney named (Mike Metro) wanted to take my case but I was in the middle of moving so i didnt sign with him. I figured i would first try to deal with the store on my own and if I couldnt get anywhere with them, i would then try to find a local attorney to help. I called this office and gave them all my info then waited on hold for 20 minutes and when the "paralegal" got back on the phone her exact words: "I know it sounds callused but if you didnt break any bones then we can't help you". I wasted an hour of my life on the phone explaining my life story for them to tell me they couldnt help unless I actually broke my back. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT SAY YOU HANDLE SLIP AND FALL CASES IF YOU DO NOT HANDLE SLIP AND FALL CASES!!! AND BE MORE CLEAR ON THE WEBSITE...TELL PEOPLE >IF THEY DIDNT BREAK ANY BONES, DONT BOTHER CALLING< WORST EXPERIENCE SINCE I MOVED TO THIS TOWN!!!!

locked my appeal up so that my local vso couldnt get into my claim and appeals to give me any info on the status hence fourth I could never get through to the firm to get info about the status of my claim , they siad they would get me my military disability claim for myself and my family and all that was done was that they filed a NOD and waited for a pay check.....the outcome was I got 10% and and that cost me 2000$ and I had to do 100% of the footwork calling the vba, congressmen, senators and the white house VA complaint line to get my pension which this law firm charged me 2,700 to file the NOD on. I could have done all this myself or with my vso at my local va and it wouldnt have cost me a dime. DO NOT USE A LAW FIRM TO GET YOU VA DISABILITY USE A VSO from the DAV or VFW they cost nothing and they will actually fight for u this law firm charged me almost 4,000 to file 2 notice of disagreements in that time I lost my home, career and children do to my DISABILITY. Beware

Contacted them because I was hoping to have my personal injury claim settled which was almost one year in the making and still was making no progress with the insurance company, even though I had a lawyer. The representative I spoke to said it would be absolutely no problem that I already had a lawyer and that my lawyer had already sent a demand letter and was trying to settle. I informed the other law firm that I was going to seek new representation with Jan Dils and they agreed to release me of all attorney fees and associated costs. They also agreed to send my entire file over to Jan Dils office. Almost 2 months later after hearing nothing from their office, I get a voicemail and an email from an attorney at Jan Dils office stating that they will not be able to assist me with my case and that I should seek other counsel because they do not typically “work cases in which the client had already sought representation and reached the settlement/demand phase.” They wasted my time and either that attorney was lying about why they didn’t want to handle my case or their representatives haven’t been trained on what types of cases they handle. Just another money hungry law firm looking to exploit veterans and other high dollar cases, not looking out for the rest of us. Don’t trust them just because they have a big advertising budget!

Please accept my vehement protestations of gratitude, for all of the Day in Day out assistance that you guys have delivered to me . It goes without saying that due to my health issues that I occurred during my military days , I have felt my life was drifting away and daily pain and struggles has made it at times almost impossible for me to get out of my bed . I have tried for years to get the Military to look into my health issue more , but I was continually getting the run around. I know this post is going to seem like I'm bitter .... I am. I had Jan Dils represent me with my claim back in June 2016. I received my VA rating decision in February 2017. Never had a conversation with anyone from the firm, except the initial conversation when they got all my information. Never got any legal advice concerning my claim. I finally got a letter in the mail from them stating that my claim had been appealed. When I called them, they told me the reason that they hadn't done anything with my claim prior to appealing it was because they didn't get my files until February 2017. My claim had already been decided on and they had done absolutely nothing. When I called to get information on my medical records, no one knew anything because "they had not had the chance to review my file" because they just got it. Now the appeal can take 1 to 2 years to be decided on. Eight months back pay vs two years and eight months back pay. I know it all comes out in the wash, but why do I have to wait almost 3 years to get paid? That's just more back pay that they get. I called and asked to have my appeal changed to a reconsideration to get it over with. They refused to do it. Said I needed to talk to the lawyer first. I had to schedule an appointment to even speak with a lawyer (keeping in mind that I NEVER spoke with a lawyer up to this point). After going back and forth with the lawyer, I was told it would be changed to a reconsideration. When I called VA about my claim, I found out it never was changed to a reconsideration. I sent emails. Came back "rejected" by the organization. I sent an email to another person within the organization on 21 March. Finally, my email was answered on 23 March only to say that they was forwarding my email to the lawyer. Never heard from anyone else. Today is the 29th, and I still haven't heard from the law firm. Why should I have to call them at this point? If my claim wasn't cut-and-dry enough for them, then they shouldn't have taken on my claim ... and it doesn't excuse unprofessional communication courtesy. If I could have given 0 stars, I would have. I could have just had VA represent me. At least with them, when they ignore me or avoid my calls and emails, I know that in the end, they're not getting 20% of any back pay. That's the part that tees me off.

If you are a veteran hoping to find support in your claim; do not use this law firm. They are way over worked and do not have time to support you. The VA has had options to expedite my appeal in place for months and they refuse to assist with helping me get benefits in the timeframe that will make a difference for me (the information they tell me about the expedited process is directly refuted on the VA website). Emails go unanswered for well over a week. Voicemails don't get responded to. I have been asking what additional evidence I need to gather (being fully willing to do the work I retained them to do) they cannot even give any answers to that. I have had to borrow tens of thousands of dollars from friends and family through this process just to keep my family clothed and fed. Find a smaller lawyer who will really care about you and work to get you what you need, this firm does not Fight 4 Vets as their website suggests. I am a Vet and have had them retained for over 10 months, I am still as alone and in the dark on what the VA needs from me as I was 11 months ago. I am not just some nay sayer, I have never left a review for anything online before, I figured out how to do it just so that I could warn other battle buddies, stay away!
