I scheduled a consultation and received a call from an attorney who sounded preoccupied with other things. He did not sound interested in listening to me and immediately told me to simply leave things as they are. He gave no options or solutions. I felt like I did most of the talking with no response. For a $100 consultation, I should have received more information. At the advise of a friend, I reached out to other attorneys, who gave me a free consultation and actually listened to me and provided options. I hate that I wasted my time and money on a useless consultation with this firm. I do not recommend.

But she charged a hefty fee, but she is not a top EEO attorney, based on my experience, I actually withdrew my complaint because she gave me an uncomfortable feeling about her ability as my attorney...

Exceeded my expecttions! just got off the phone with Attorney Steven Herrick and I feel really good! After I booked the consult, I was hesitant because I saw some of the reviews that some people found their consults not as helpful as they would've wanted. My experience: I'm so glad I talked to Mr Herrick!! He was very knowledgable and personable; didn't waste my time; and provided straight forward answers to several (complicated) questions in a manner that was understandable to me and very helpful. Can't say enough good things about him!! Will def ask him to provide his services in future; (he was much more helpful in our brief consult than my current attorney at another firm, with whom I've had horrible and unhelpful interactions). One more thing: there was one question that came up that was sort of tangential to one of my major questions and he is following up with it because the idiosyncrasy of it intrigued him. My sister recently got fired from her job for discrimination. I recommended her to call the Tully Rinckey law firm because I know the good work they do (they helped me with my divorce). We spoke to the attorney about my sisters work situation and as it turns out her employer was discriminating against her in more than one way. My sister worked at a beauty salon doing the cleaning between clients and preparing the each stylist’s station, however since she has a learning disability that makes her forget certain things she needs to do sometimes. Although the stylists understood my sisters’ condition and helped her remember her duties, the owner did not. The owner showed no patience when she forgot to switch the towels from the washer to the dryer or take out the trash, all it took was a reminder to take out the trash, but instead she insulted her calling her names to make her feel dumb and saying racial comments. Several times my sister came home crying because she felt depressed and self-conscious about her capabilities to work. This is when I convinced her it was time to hire a lawyer to assist her in employment legal matter. Now my sister is happy and working in a new job that understands her disability and accommodates her so that she can keep up with all her responsibilities. My family and I are very grateful with the lawyer for his great help with my sisters’ discrimination case.

Among several other Disabilities, I suffer from Dyslexia, and I have been Consulting periodically with Tully Rinckey Attorney Steve Harrick for almost three years on some very complex Federal cases. I was very concerned at first as far as being sure to select an Attorney and/or Law Firm that understands my cases, as well as my need for Reasonable Accommodation due to my Dyslexia. Attorney Harrick far exceeds my expectations in every aspect and I always feel better proceeding with my cases after I consult with him. In fact, I just consulted with him today and he patiently had to explain a law/regulation to me at least 3 times before I understood it and the fact that I could not/did not comprehend it the first time is one of me Dyslexia-Related Challenges that I have no control over. In contrast, a Federal Judge (who knew that I suffer from Dyslexia) yelled at me in the past 3 years about my lack of comprehension in regards to this same law/regulation when I told him that I did not understand it. Attorney Harrick is also excellent at easily separating the relevant matters from the irrelevant in my cases, and thus he has helped save me a lot potentially wasted time and money. In addition, this Firm has an excellent Client Care/Customer Care staff and I feel that all of the legal fees that I have paid to them were reasonable and totally worth every penny I spent.

Initially had a very good experience with representation from the Tully Rinckey law firm. However, my lawyer left for another job and was replaced with an incompetent associate attorney. I expressed my concerns to a managing partner at Tully Rinckey who continued to come up with excuses for that attorney. I spoke with 2 other law firms regarding my case and both independently of each other, said Tully Rinckey had made numerous errors in the handling of my case. Fortunately my case was not too far along for another law firm I retained to assist me. I just wish I had contact them first instead of Tully Rinckey. Update: It has been over 4 months since I posted my original review before Tully Rinckey decided to respond with the message, "We invite you to contact us". Ironically, if they had really read my initial review, they would have noticed I stated that I already had a conversation with a managing partner to discuss my concerns. And all I received was one excuse after another for the way in which was my case was handled.

Maybe they improved from a few years ago when I went to them, but I found them to be money hungry and they assigned me with a junior lawyer who did not understand the game. I pulled my case from them after they went through 25K is less than a month and I went with Ms. Dettling who won my case for 7K or something like that. RUN....away...far away. You will be required to pay a lot of money for an attorney just to explain what things mean legally but they will not spend time actively representing you. One of their “chief slogans is they “aggressively represent you and it is so untrue. The scheme is they’re always going to tell you that you have a strong case and what they bank on is your employer settling the case quickly so that they are paid their fees by you and you’re employer. As a part of the settlement, they encourage you to find another position or be reassigned or settle your case. They don’t read through your cases throughly. They expect you to complete and write up your own affidavit and relevant paperwork and they only review. BTW- expect to receive last minute requests from your attorney which is an additional burden to you in an already stressful situation. My attorney always sent me last minute requests to comply with which added additional stress to me in an already stressful working environment. He (Gian) returned my calls and emails maybe 50% of the time and at other times, I had to stalk him or contact his assistant directly to get a response. My attorney never submitted my witnesses to the administrative law judge and it didn’t even tell me my hearing was cancelled. I found out my hearing was canceled less than 24 hours before by my supervisor and NOT my attorney who I was paying. The first attorney they assigned to me left without notice and when she returned, she informed me that she had left on maternity leave. A week later, my first attorney at Tulley informed me that she accepted a position at another firm and I could come with her or stay with Tulley. The new attorney assigned to me lied and misrepresented several times and always doubled talked to remove the focus from his lies. If there was no work that needed to be completed for my case, he would meet with his supervisor on what was called a “review” to do what he told me was to refresh his memory on a case he was supposedly supposed to be familiar with. I attempted to report him to Mr. Kaine at Tulley’s quality team who explained they would complete a through investigation and follow up with me. The “investigation” was a farce. I never received a response from their quality review team and Mr. Kaine insisted that he did not need any evidence from me to verify how my case was being handled by Tulley. He never asked me for actually proof like emails to verify my complaints. How can you fairly and effectively investigate a complaint and you only ask your employee for evidence and you inform the customer that she doesn’t need to send you emails to support her claim. An eye opener for me is when we were on a conference call with my Agency, the Judge, and everyone that spoke added clarity to their position, EXCEPT my attorney from Tulley. So I spoke up and decided to explain that the my employer (Agency) was incorrect- another example of what is not aggressive representation as Tulley claims. I would NEVER recommend this firm to anyone. Awful. I would have to say that my attorney’s assistant was good and very responsive. I almost thought she was my attorney. Awful. The owner sent me a response (bard on the review I posted above) asking me to contact the company regarding the negative experience I shared in my review; however, I’m still waiting for Tulley to contact me as promised. I already shared my concerns with their office and Mr. Kaine promised to call me back with an update on the company’s investigation. More than three months later, I’m still waiting to be contacted. By way of this review, I’m asking Tulley to contact me again with an update as they had initially promised. BTW- In my opinion, I believe many of the ratings at 4-5 stars aren’t actual clients of Tulley. They can’t be. Please make sure to review the ratings from 1-3 and you will find that there are many similarities in what one experiences at Tulley....stay away.
