It took this firm over a year ro actually file my case and then a year after it was filed I get a letter telling me that James Magee is no longer practicing law. I called a few months back and was told he is practicing again and he would call me back. Today I called again after waiting a few months and was told he would call me back in 2 weeks. We were NOT treated as valued clients and felt totally rushed throughout the whole process. Our experience with Mr. Magee was horrible. He was rude and condescending. At one of the only two meetings we had with him, he made a comment that was so rude I had to leave the room. On the day before submitting our paperwork to the court we met with him. It was very obvious that he hadn't looked at our paperwork at all before that day. He should have! He proceeded to go through every page becoming angry when he found errors, calling his office, right in front of us, and berated his staff. My God..we were mortified! We would not recommend hiring Mr. Magee.

We called in to schedule an appointment, and our appointment was scheduled for the next day at 6?6:30 pm. we got there at 6:15 pm because we know there is always some paper work that needs to be filled. Right after we got there another couple came in with kids and they were also scheduled for 6:30 pm. I guess a little mistake is not a problem. Anyways... He finally saw us at 7:05 pm and during our conversation while I explained why I left the country for a year to take care of my brother who had terminal cancer he came up with the most rude and unthoughtful comment I ever heard from somebody: "It would have been better for you if your brother had waited another year to get sick". My brother passed away last September and I would give anything for him to still be here with us. There are a lot of lawyers out there, and I know they hear all kinds of different stories from people but that does not give them the right to be disrespectful. I do not recommend him to anyone. If he can be that rude with his clients, I wonder what kind of representation he does for them? Be aware, take your time and make sure you hire a decent attorney to represent you. It`s hard enough on itself having to go through a bankruptcy process. You don`t need the aggravation of an inconsiderate lawyer to make matters worse.

I made an appointment with MaGee, and his secretary emailed me four hours before the appointment to inform me that he would not be able to make his commitment. I was understanding and made a phone conference instead. When the time came for my phone appointment, I received no call. James ended up calling an hour after the scheduled time, but I was busy with family matters at that time. He left a voicemail that was really unprofessional. I WOULD NOT recommend MaGee.

BEWARE! I also made an appointment with James H Magee and he was also 1 hr late and no apologies for being late. I should of taken that as a bad sign from the start. As we sat down to start talk about my situation, I was bothered again I felt that he wasn't lestening to a word I was saying. He wanted to talk about his retainer fee first and if I write him a check for 200.00 he would get things going. Sadly I did and I really regret doing it! He did mention that there would a mean test that he would have to process befor he can determine my option. And also that if things didn't work out that I would only have to pay him 800.00 for the service without filing. What he fail to mention is that the means test is public information that anyone one can look up online to determine if they can file. This guy in my opinion is very unprofessional that preys on clients that are going threw some hard time. I am glad that I got a second opinion from other law firm because this prove to me that it's all bout the money to him not his clients. And befor I forget it's going on 1 month now that I have requested my deposit back and still NOTHING! NO RETURN CALLS!

This is the first time I have every declared bankruptcy, and it was kind of a scary experience for me. I wanted to make sure I found someone legit, and then found James H MaGee's office online. He had pretty good reviews compared to most of the attorny's I found, and so I stopped by his office. Mary and Lisa, kindly greeted me, and made me feel at ease. When I met James, he didn't surgar coat anything, which in my opinion is better than an attorny who tells you what you want to hear. This James McGee just called me and I do believe from the referral for Senior Services. I explained him my situation of a previous bankruptcy and this James McGee ripped into me, Called me a whiner, a complainer and even said I can't tell if you are a woman or a man Are you kidding me?? people be careful in hiring this agency. He admitted he only does 2 or 3 cases a year, which must mean he is suppose to help seniors, not condemn them. Check the reaffirmation laws before you file bankruptcy if you are able to keep your home. These lawyers only mess up your credit worse and then blame the agencies for holding credit in hostage. Be cautious being a woman or an elderly in approaching this man. Wow, Unbelievable. and also his call was 6 hours late.

Well, my husband and I decided to hire Mr. Magee after being WAY over our heads in debt. Our wages were getting garnished left and right, the bills and collection calls were not stopping. So after a long and hard decision we decided to file Chaper 7 bankruptucy. I started looking online and calling attorneys and asking prices and everything. I called 8 to be exact. Mr Magee was the only one that was BBB Accredited. That impressed me from the start. I didnt want an attorney to just take my money and run. My husband and I based our decision off other peoples reviews and the BBB rating. Both were excellent! We met with him for our first consult. We both felt he was kind of rushed. Maybe thats how attorneys are, but I dont know. I understand they are busy people. He explained our options very throughly and gave us the best advice possible. We went home and talked about it and decided to go through with it. After getting like a million papers together, it was very easy from there. We paid him and that was it. All we had to do was wait for a court date. We went to court on October 6th. I was not impressed that he was late. We were 1 of 4 clients there waiting for him. The trustee even said it has been an ongoing problem that he is late. For the amount of money he gets paid, I dont think he should be late. But court was a piece of cake. We were there about an hour and a half total. Now we are going to the process of reaffirming our car, which is also very easy. Then we are just waiting for the discharge letter. But overall the experience was amazing! His assistant Mary was just awesome. Anytime I had a question, if she didnt have the answer she would always call me back. And believe me, we had A LOT of questions. And Mr Magee was pretty awesome as well. He did what he needed to do as an attorney, late or not. I would defiently recommend them to anyone. They have multiple locations for your convience and it was just an awesome experience, even though the decision to file bankruptucy in your mid 20s can be very hard.
