I should start by stating that my review is aimed strictly at the staff handling emails. I did not have the pleasure of working with any attorneys at Valverde & Rowell, but first impressions are very important to me, therefore I won't be working with them.
I have very little information when it comes to the immigration process & even less when it comes to seeking legal counsel. I was inquiring about phone consultations & appointments (costs & what would be entailed). It took a few days after my initial inquiry before I was contacted, which was fine really, I know everyone's busy & for a law firm, I'm sure there were several more important matters to deal with. Timing wasn't the issue.
I gave a brief explanation of my situation on the inquiry form & what I was looking for.
The associate who assisted me via email kept her responses very short. Her initial response was for me to call to set up a live consultation with Valverde & presented a number to call. Asked nothing more. I asked about phone consultations & she stated the phone consultation would be $60. Again, no in depth descriptions, so I pressed to know what all was entailed with a phone consultation. I asked if that included any manner of paperwork or retainer to start (again, not well versed in the legal system). Her reply was " No Ma'am, that's just to consult your immigration matter with Attorney Valverde."
I got a bit frustrated at this, only because it felt cold & uncaring. When I pressed further on the subject, there was no more response. It felt like my business was unwelcome & worthless to this individual.
I work with public daily & as I said, first impressions are very important. This was a poor way to handle a situation & I feel that this individual could use a bit more training. It won't make me reconsider them either way as I have already found another company with a glowingly friendly staff that make me feel appreciated & already give me a sense of ease & excitement. This was a missed opportunity for Valverde & Rowell.
