This was my family members lawyer and he was terrible. 5-6 unanswered communications unanswered. Couldn’t remember anything about the case when he went to court. Missed nearly every single opportunity to expose a wretched lying thief. Conspired with the opposing attorney as to not lose his “vip” parking spot at the country club. Under no circumstances should you hire this clown. Absolutely a terrible lawyer that simply doesn’t care about winning your case!

I must agree with all the other reviews. Look elsewhere when in the search for a good lawyer. You will be paying him twice for having to tell him things involving your case more than once because he doesn’t remember and/or care the first time around. Just Shameful. You are better representing yourself than having Kurt represent you! An expensive mistake indeed.

Going through a divorce is hard enough.... having a horrible lawyer who doesn’t care at all about you is worse! Kurt Hughes is just terrible! He not only did zero preparation for each hearing, he was embarrassing as he missed every opportunity to make any significant gain in our trial. It was very clear that he could have cared less about my case, my children and most of all, my dignity. He laughed and joked with the other attorney to ensure the case went in the direction of my exwife, who had stolen all of our marital property funds. This is in no way a emotional review. This is factual and be fore warned, if you hire this guy to represent you, you are NOT hiring a professional... you’re hiring a immature elitist who conspires with the other attorney as if divorce court is a “country club” of which the lawyers and judge are the only members and we are the entertainment. No effort, only cares about his fees and, most importantly, doesn’t give a flying stink about you, his client. The worst representation possible by an elitist jerk who judges thinks this is a game. DO NOT RETAIN THIS OVERPRICED EMBARRASSMENT.

This was a huge mistake that cost me almost everything i had worked for in 31 years. Already disgusted with the divorce process in the state of Vermont, having a divorce lawyer who could care less about your case is devestating and makes a bad situation horrible. Don`t believe the hype of "Super Lawyer" designations online as they are self proclaimed. This attorney did little to no preparation in my divorce and it killed me and cost me everything. He dumped the case 1 week before the final hearing, led me to believe he filed papers resigning, and lied about everything. I couldn't imagine a more pathetic attempt at defending your client in a divorce. I have nothing at all that is good to say but DON'T HIRE HIM!!!
