Through my interactions with him during the past few years, I have learned and observed that Walter is a passionate and experienced attorney. If I ever needed Walter Reaves for a legal matter I would not hesitate to contact him. I highly recommend him.

Lots of attorneys talk about what they can do and in the end you wind up with a raw deal. Lots of attorneys are certified and hold licenses and don't know the first thing about representing... And trust me I've had those. But believe me when I tell you attorney Walter Reaves Jr. in my book is one of the best if not the best. From the time I hired him as my attorney he was honest with me and treated me more like a friend than a client and knew nothing of me or about me. He never made any promises to me but he did make me feel at ease knowing that he would do the best that he could in representing me. And he did just that. I don't trust mosy attorneys at all but I can truly say that my experience with Attorney Reaves was truly a good experience. I would hire him again if needed which I hope I never have to but, at the same time he has my highest recommendation because he is not only a good attorney but a good person with a good heart as well. When he tell you he's working on your case he's really working on your case. I thank you Attorney Walter Reaves for representing me with my case. One thing I can say for sure and that is that you were a blessing to me and I thank God that when I needed an attorney you were the only one he sent to mind after hearing so much about you I'm glad my decision was to hire you....U R DA BESTEST. I worked hand in hand with Walter Reaves in the successful effort to free Calvin Washington from a life sentence for a murder he did not commit. Washington's co-defendant, Joe Sidney Williams, also wrongly convicted, was already at liberty because of superb appellate work done by Mr. Reaves. From start to finish, Reaves worked on the Washington case pro bono; even after Washington was freed and paid restitution money, Reaves declined to take a fee. He is a man of principle and compassion. Reaves has been attacked by people who have no scruples, and who would do anything for money. I used Mr. Walter Reaves to help me get an order of non-disclosure for a Class B Misdemeanor. I believe mostly in part to the courts at that time, I was able to get my order rather quickly and I did not have to drive to Waco for an appearance in court (This is one of the biggest benefits to doing this through an attorney). My biggest complaint about this whole thing is that I paid so much money to have this order of non-disclosure issued that I was not once able to speak with Mr. Reaves on the phone. I had to communicate with him via email. He also failed to respond to my emails in a timely fashion and I had to constantly pester him and his secretary for a response. He got the job done, but he's just like any typical lawyer: unavailable and unresponsive when you have questions.

I had an issue that was concerning me very much. I found Mr. Reaves on the internet. I called his office and asked to speak with him. His assistant was very nice and put my call thru to him. I explained to him my situation and concerns. After talking to him at length, I felt a lot of relief from my concerns. I offered to compensate him for his time, however: he declined my offer. Reaves has taken over 15 years to have the DNA in the Lake Waco Triple Murder run AND did not file a Complaint in the case with the Texas Forensics Commission. Melendez himself filed the Complaint.
