I'm on disability and East River Legal services has NEVER been any help for me on ANY issue I've had in town with car dealers or landlords.! What they told me I could do and my options I was already aware of BEFORE I talked to them!

Complete waste of time. Seems they won't help a male who is getting hosed. Asked for help with custody. Response " we don't do that". Asked for help with a child support modification because the other party lied about working and daycare expenses. Response " we don't do that because it's cut and dry". Well one wouldn't be asking for help if one didn't already get screwed by this cut and dry process. Complete waste of time trying for help if you're a male.

I have been trying to get a call back from this service for nearly a month on a case that allegedly had been taken care of in April 2019. I have not received any paperwork signed by the judge, I have not received a call back from my email, voicemail or message left with the receptionist. This is completely unprofessional. I understand the workload put on the team here is challenging but I have been working with a legal team here and this level of neglect and non response is totally out of line and unacceptable.

The lady on the phone was very respectful and honest. She wasn't very knowledgeable but I don't blame her for that. Unfortunately no one tried to even help get my simple question answered.

Treated me like a criminal. Said they don't do what I asked then turned around and represented the other party. I got a real laywer and wasted a lot of money on trying to get through to East River.

My daughter is in dire need of legal help but called on Tuesday 41 times and never got through to anyone - and 2 days later has received no return phone call. So much for affordable legal help - called again 6 days later- was told nothing they could do on short notice - person on phone was snotty and very condesending. When someone needs assistance this was not the attitude we needed.

I filled out an application online and received a phone call back asking questions about my issue said they would call the following day. They called me the following day to ask more questions because they had a meeting at 9:30 that morning to go over cases...not a problem! They said they would call back that afternoon..but, never did. I checked the mail today and got a letter saying there was a conflict of interest. I called their office and they could not and would not tell me what or why.....even though I was financially eligible for services...i was pointed in their direction, but I can tell you this, I will never recommend east river legal Services to anyone, ever! I feel like I was given the run around!
