I called John C after the police knocked on my door making accusations and demanding I take a trip to the police station to be questioned further. John informed me that it would not be in my best interest to speak to police without an attorney present, as they were looking to build a case against me. I'm an active duty soldier and I got a DUI. I deserved the penalties and reprimands but I did not deserve to loose everything. When I was notified that I would be facing a QMP board for separation I knew I had to do all I could to fight back against it for myself and for my family. I am extremely grateful for John and his team. I had no idea about the list of standards I was up against that the board would use to determine weather or not I could keep my job and continue to support my family. Mr. Calcagni systematically itemized and proved beyond a doubt that I met and or exceeded each standard giving the board a clear picture that I still hold value to the Army. He took my personal side and my professional side along with all the legal points and drafted a rebuttal that saved my career. Had I attempted to go against the board on my own I would have surely been denied. Not because I deserved it, but because it is a battle that soldiers are not equipped to deal with on their own and the Army provides zero support. Yes, at first my rating was a 5 star but that was after you asked me to sign you into my google account and you wrote my review which im sure you did for other clients. The case went on for over a year do to your continuance's. You knew little of my case if any. You tried to tell me that i was picked out of a photo array until i had to under line it for you that i was NOT identified in the series of arrays. I gave you GPS screenshots, work photos for that date of the event, and you had statements from my boss stating i was at work and still failed. I didnt even match the descriptions of the suspect in the case you worked on. You even failed to put in a motion to dismiss the 1 on 1 personal NOT professional convo that one of the victims had with the officer involved which was HIGHLY suggestive. Nothing but a color matched my vehicle and until you remove your comment trying to professionally slander my name i will leave this comment up.

I hired John and his team for representation for my husband. I have never needed to hire a lawyer before and wasn’t sure where to begin. I spoke with friends and family and asked for suggestions. I spoke with a couple different lawyers and didn’t get a good feeling. So it was back to the drawing board, I googled defense attorneys near me and Johns website was the first to appear. So I checked it out and read just about every review and was confident that he was the one for us. I called the office and spoke with Nikki and gave her a run down of the situation and she was so sweet and made me feel even better about my choice. John personally called me a couple hours later to confirm my appointment with him (he met me at his office on a Saturday afternoon to speak with my husband and me). So a month later we had our court case and John Pensa met us there. We had a continuance for another month. John Pensa met us there again and the district attorney tried to get us to continue for another month. So John Pensa went back into the court room and spoke with the district attorney who in turn spoke with the judge and he agreed to hear us out.
