I am writing this review on behalf of my mother who is not very tech savvy. My mother was first referred to Mr. Yi, by a friend of her's in 2011-2012 after an arrest which entered her into proceeding for deportation by ICE. Once out on bail, my mother and I met with Mr. Yi for the very first time and based on our first impression, we decided to hire him for cancellation from deportation. Mr. Yi showed curtesy and companionship to two complete strangers. He was kind, understanding, but even more importantly, he listened to what we had to say. Mr. Yi took the time to thoroughly examine my mother's case, ask detailed and intricate questions, and put together what he believed was the best options for my mother. He never made any assumptions or promises to grant my mother cancellation from deportation, but what he did state and prove was knowledge in law, facts, evidence, and intelligence, which we felt is far more important then hopes and promises. From the very beginning and throughout the process, we felt Mr Yi's true integrity and dedication in his work. Though we knew the outcome may or may not be in our favor, we felt welcomed and very positive that someone like Mr Yi, would be on my mother's side to help and try their best. Mr. Yi's communication was by far superior throughout the lengthy process. Mr. Yi never lost interest or motivation in my mother's case. Every time we met with Mr. Yi, we were always treated with the same professionalism as if we were in our first meeting. His communication was always clear and to the pace where we could comprehend every detail. We never felt rushed to listen and go. Our questions were always answered in detail and example. Mr. Yi always went the extra mile to reach out to my mother for document signing or updates. Even when my mother was not available via telephone, Mr. Yi would reach out to me so I could pass on the message and promptly schedule a meeting to meet deadline dates. Not everyones immigration case is the same, nor will everyone's case have positive outcomes, unfortunately, but Mr. Yi is an attorney at law who truly dedicates his expertise to try and achieve positive outcomes for his clients. Mr. Yi is an honest man with high morals, and it very well shows. Thank you Again Mr. Yi! We are forever great full. May you receive many blessings.

If you need a lawyer you can trust and that will take care of even the hardest case you need Elliot. Don"t even think about doing it yourself. Trust me. It will set you back for months or be denied. He was with us every step of the way. he not only told us how much up front but started my sons process too. It was never a surprise about the fees. And he was way more then fair. Elliot Yi came over 30 minutes late to our appointment. He did not excuse himself about it, but took us to a very fancy room with awesome views where he spent a considerable amount of time giving us advice about being ilegally in the country which is nothing near what I expect from a lawyer. After having to cut him and redirect him to legal advice, he continue checking his phone, cutting our session short and asking questions about how much we like Portland. He seems confident but he should learn to be on time to their $150 appointments, give real advice with concrete information and to prepare his job before hand. Very dissapointing and no recommendable at all. The cherry on the top was that he didn't seem very happy to have my fiancee and myself there, both of us females, which says a lot about his values. If you were sorry you would actually have gone ahead and contacted us to gather more information about the lack of professionalism of your lawyer.

We were very lucky to find Elliot, who stepped in toward the end of our application process, and helped us with a fairly stressful and unexpected issue that came up. I signed up for a phone consultation for advice on my situation, and for the entire phone call, I just wanted to hang up because of how unprofessional and rude Elliot was. Right after I finished explaining my situation, he started by smirk laughing on the phone. He was not able to provide any new legal information for me to be aware of to apply to my situation. Without understanding the context, he immediately came to the accusation that I had not taken any action for my case until the last minute, which is far from the truth. I had been working so hard the past months to resolve my issues with sweat and tears. Last but not least, I don't know what kind of clients he had been serving, but he assumed that I am trying all sorts of way possible to stay in the US, which is not my intention. His questions and tones were all very condescending. All I wanted, was to ask for advice to not break the law. I am a software engineer, and I will be working for a really prestigious tech company. I'm here to work at my dream job, not to try to find loophole and desperately try to stay in the US. The US has a lot to offer, but not enough to sell my own integrity.

I went to Elliot M.S. Yi based on a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Being a first time landlord, a situation arose to seek legal council with a dispute over a security deposit. I have not had much interaction with lawyers before, but my mind was put at ease very quickly with how informed Elliot was with my situation before he even billed a single hour or had our first meeting. Everything was explained very intelligently, but in understandable terms and I never felt "out of the loop" with the status of the case. communication was excellent throughout our interaction, and no requests I had were met with annoyance or hesitance. Although Landlord/Tenant law was not a specialty of Elliot's, I truly believe he went out of his way to make us feel like we were having our case handled as well as anybody well versed in this specialty. The case had a large amount of variables concerning the wording of our lease agreement, as well as specific laws that applied to them, and our tenants rights to the deposit. It was handled amazingly, and I felt very secure in the outcome as well as any ongoing issues with our tenants relating to the deposit until the closure of the case. He was very flexible with meetings and times, and worked great around my schedule. Even bringing in my children to his office was met with hospitality at all times. I would most definitely recommend Elliot to anybody needing any type of legal council, and would call him again in a second. Thanks again!
