Mr. Harlan York is the best immigration attorney I have spoken to. Why? His legal advice and counseling come second. First, I felt treated as a person not a client, with empathy and attention. Second, I was given a chance to speak and explain my situation and never felt at pressure of spending his time and/or uncomfortable while chatting with him. After listening, Mr. York gave me true, precise, specific, and professional advice about my situation. He is very legally alphabetic person. It was not about charging fees, as many other legal aid secretaries ask for before you can even hear the attorney’s voice. I am an overseas Security Contractor. I got married to my wife in Uganda Africa and for 4 years we tried to get her spouse visa due to her being an Ugandan Citizen. I went to have a consultation with the attorney in regards to legalizing my husband in the US, we have been married for many years but we held back because my husband had been arrested once due to his EX calling the police because he wanted to see his son, they downgraded his charges of domestic violence to a misdemeanor (city ordinance) charging him a fine of $500. I just want to say this is the best law firm that I ever contacted with any questions about my immigration status. Unfortunately they weren't able to help me because there were no options for me but because of their honesty and frankness I have saved a lot of money. Some lawyers promise you that if you pay a certain amount of money they can do something to change your immigration status somehow and they literally take your money and do nothing. Mr. York didn't waste any time and was very professional. The consultation was $120 if I'm not mistaken which is about what all consultations cost at any law firm, except that I left there with a straight answer. He was also very quick to answer emails or call back whenever I had a question, usually within the hour. I highly recommend going to Harlan York and Associates for Green Card applications, visas applications, Etc. I can't say it enough that they are a very professional law firm.

I have consulted Mr. York twice. Honestly, I think I completely wasted my time. He knows nothing about H1-B and answers 0 of my questions. He was acting like a big bro who knows every single piece of the immigration law. But all he provided me was some forum information online, which is not helpful at all. I needed some solid legal advises from an experienced lawyer which was why I was in your office. At the end of our conversation, he said: "I was born in here, I am an American and I don't have an immigration issue so I couldn't feel what you are feeling." That's exactly what I had been thinking while we were talking. I couldn't imagine an immigration lawyer who couldn't place himself in the immigrant's position and have no sympathy is continuously serving for more immigrants. I seriously doubt where all of these good comments about him come from?! He answered 0 questions for my consulting session at least and I would like to write a honest review. Every immigration case is urgent and many times immediate actions are required. Don't waste your time to talk to a lawyer without sympathy and a sense of obligation. All in all, I just wanted to write my experience, give a truthful and honest review. I am not going to be your client and why I bother to be your client based on your attitude during the consulting session. Having tons of "best of lawyer" doesn't really mean anything if you don't care about immigrants from your deep heart.

Just when my husband and I thought it was impossible for me to immigrate to the states without having to miss each other for months, I contacted Mr. York. He immediately made me feel better about our case. My husband is military and he's stationed in North Carolina. They helped my father get his green card while he was in removal proceedings. They were the only lawyers we met with that suggested a green card application with a waiver instead of just a cancellation of removal application, the only ones who thought of that as an option. It is important to note that Mr. York himself does not litigate but he works very closely with whichever associate is assigned to you that will mainly focus on the case. Lauren Anselowitz worked closely with us and was extremely helpful. It seems that immigration just like most things is about knowing people and Lauren knows just about everybody relevant to Newark immigration courts. Even though they are extremely busy and it may seem they are a little too busy to focus on your case at times, when it comes down to your case it will be all about you and they will do everything in their capability to ensure you win. Lauren leaves no loose ends and makes sure that you are working closely with her providing any document that helps. One word - AMAZING!!! I first met Mr. York in 2011 and prior to that I had other immigration attorney's for my case. I waited around for 15+ years with different attorney's to resolve my case - which Mr. York's and his team (Lauren and Riki) took 2 1/2 years to resolve. Only reason, it even took 2 1/2 years was because of the court dates postponement; otherwise I'm 100% sure that my case would have ended much sooner. I had an unfortunate incident happen to my boyfriend of 10+ years recently. He is a legal permanent resident of the United States for over 30 years, but after a short weekend trip to his country of resident, he was detained at Newark Airport upon arriving back to the United States. I do not think these reviews are accurate or realistic because I got this attorney information from my friends lawyer. I checked them out online and read reviews about them they have gotten great reviews. After that I decided to go there get some advise about my case. they have consultation fees which was $120. I was worried about because If they don't give me good advise, or don't take my case ; my money going to waste. Anyway according to some reviews they tells you any money you invested to them is worth. So i went there they made me wait like 5 min after that Harlem York called us to get in the room we sit he just ask couple of questions after that he was not even interested looking at my face he was answering my questions by doing something with computer. I was able ask 3 or 4 question that i know something about my case. He didn't even suggest anything about my case. He just gave a number that i could check my status online that is all. They didn't take my case either they only take case which is easy to make money and they don't even try to give advise if your case is difficult Honestly you don't need to go there for that number you can google it and find yourself for free. Don't waste your money to Harlan York and Associates.
