Stay away! All lawyers are heartless liars but you don't expect it from your own, as much. They will tell you they will stick by you all the way, but the minute it becomes actual work on their part, they will drop you. I'm not some angry person who didn't get what they wanted, but I can tell you, they are only out for the money they can get from writing a letter. As far as guiding you and explaining to you, well that is pretty much nonexistent. Don't believe their website. If you have been through something terrible and need help, understanding, and representation, these are definitely NOT the people for you, they will only add to your troubles.

She will be writing a response down below but who cares, you didn’t do your job or research. I see why a lot of lawyers from this firm have left. We give every matter careful consideration and rarely make “on the spot” decisions – at initial meetings – that we will take a case...and more bs" So because we are consulted for free, we should be grateful for your incompetence? You made a decision a week after my interviewing accepting me as a client so add all the facts and don't try to hide any, same you tell your clients to do. Yes, you're right, you can't make everyone happy but an incompetent system like yours makes more people miserable then happy. You've been sniffing your bs for so long Mr.Costello that you can't see the problems within your own firm. This response is just filled with arrogance because Mr.Costello thinks of himself as a high self-esteemed lawyer who can't fix the problems within his own firm, but in honesty, his low profile media appearances and him fighting for civil rights is just advertising for his greedy firm and a ego which talks the talk, but limited actions to prove it unlike Steven Suflas in Cherry Hill (actually a high profile lawyer). No one is unhappy with what the laws are, one is unhappy after a client repeatedly calls your office numerous times and treated with the disrespect given time after time, then all of a sudden without notice, is dropped because you couldn't do your research beforehand. Wasting valuable time which makes your firm very incompetent and reportable for unethical conduct to the bar Association may I add. Also folks, look at a pattern with this law firm, every time a negative review is posted, a positive review is posted right after, the same happened with yelp...Kinda fishy, but Mr.Costello & his firm has a dishonest reputation to keep up and pathetic responses to most of the negative feed here instead of taking the time to fix the problems within his firm. Look at the amount of complaints about Deborah repeatedly (you would think she would change her behavior though I never dealt with her), look at the communication issues previously posted, how people felt they were disrespected, and then objectively judge each criticism given--it was all written by different people. Same complaints time in and time out, you think this law firm would actually change for the better & improve but its run by a lawyer who in my opinion has his head so far up his *** that he doesn't take facts into considerations, only $$$ or free public press. Again beware of this fishy firm, my opinion as well many previous reviewers who TOOK the time to write about their PROBLEMS. I objectively criticized you but gave you props for the things you did, but you condescendingly, threw out my review because it was more critical like you did with my case without considering everything. Mr.Costello, you never reached out to me after I wrote about the issues I had with your firm first by email, I gave you the opportunity, before posting these negative comments, did I not? Ofcourse not because its easier for you to give a response, which you have done plenty of times with every negative criticism behind your computer desk instead of holding a high standard of leadership... Seems like people finally figured out the b.s. you firm is trying to sell and I hope that correlates with your firm's reputation.

Took my case after an initial consultation and signing contract. A demand letter was sent to my ex employer and since there was no response in return they walked away from the case instead of pursuing it further and wasting my time the last 2 months. I could have sent a letter myself without obtaining an attorney. Their response was the evidence may not be strong enough..... how do you know unless you keep going. I had to call them to find out where my case stood otherwise they would have just sat there and did nothing. Rude and misinforming firm.

I contacted this lawfim to see I had a wrongful termination case. The person calling from the office was rude and unprofessional. She spoke as if I was on the stand being interogated but was constantly interrupting me. She said perhaps the reason I was treated poorly prior to the layoff is perhaps I was viewed as not capable and not smart as my co- workers even though this layoff affected multiple people. That was an unnecessary comment and whether or discrimination on a work site can be proven doesn't make it right to that employers are allowed to treat employees unfairly. In addition people reps answering the phone should be compassionate and professional.

It's hard to put into words the gratitude you have for someone who comes into your life at one of the more stressful and emotional times in your life. Being a parent of a child who needed the services of Costello and Mains, it's hard to describe how hurt, lost and broken we were at the beginning of the legal process. At that point we had lost all trust and hope that nothing would change and that no one could help. As a mom, seeing your child hurt and not being able to be heard to make it stop, is the worst pain I have ever experienced. At our consultation, I felt welcomed. I didn't feel rushed. I was able to express the emotional piece and wasn't judged for it. It felt like a family environment. I was called by Mains and told her I had a panic attack and was medicated yet she kept pressing harshly for details and seemed inconvenienced by me as I was not in a state of mind to give her the answers she wanted. She was condescending and presented with an non compassionate personality that exacerbated my symptoms of anxiety further due to my negative interaction with her which caused me to terminate the free consultation and hang up. I cannot speak for the other lawyers. The one star is for her as my whole night was ruined and filled w anxiety as a result of my phone interaction with her and lack of compassion as evidenced by demeanor . You never know what someone is going though so patience on her end would have been appreciated especially since I already told her I had a panic attack earlier and was medicated. Life is too short. Love people and be good to them because you don’t know what people may be going through in their lives. * notice the response of the owner that I was treated respectfully. I did not perceive that to be and if Mains who I told multiple times I was medicated and had a panic attack then she should have changed her tone or asked to speak to me on another day. If that’s wasnt feasible because of time then she should have told me so now that would have been professional. My last two cents on the matter. Mental illness is not to be taken lightly. Anyways good luck with your practice and please use my review as a cause to reflect in order to further improve your practice and interactions with others. Sorry for wasting Mains time. Prior to her I had phone consultations that went way better with other attorneys.

Like some other reviews that I’ve read I do not recommend this law office.. I went through their two steps of review after sitting down with them two months later I get a phone call and a letter that they are taking my case and moving forward with legal action against my former employer. now (8) months after they excepted my case I receive an email not even the courtesy of a phone call saying that they’re They have a taken ian additional review of my case and unfortunately At the manner is not Strong enough to Support considerable risk for their firm Mind you I will repeat this is after we’ve signed in a agreed to take my case 8 months ago.. when I called to speak for more information or more details to why they are not taking my case I pretty much got the runaround by one of the head attorneys Kevin.. My recommendation would be to find another firm else and not deal with people that want to waste other people’s time.. PS I did get offered that they will take my case on an hourly basis so Just makes me lead to believe like someone else said that they’re nothing but a scam artist

If I could rate this practice zero stars I would. I had the unfortunate experience of speaking with the female attorney. She was not interested in listening to my complaint or taking in the extensive details of prolonged cumulative issues that in my experience have never been resolved and continue to this very day. When I told her that I have supporting documents and that an attorney can subpoena emails as supporting documents to my claims. She said that they “cannot create evidence.” Which I found interesting because I thought that subpoenaing emails That already exist was called “discovery.” I thought we were supposed to hire attorneys to do the legal things that we cannot do through the courts. I guess she doesn’t believe in investigating claims or maybe this practice is a lazy and incompetent practice that expects people to do the hard work for them. Here I thought we hired attorneys for that.

Update Below...This is my initial comment ((Might be one of the best attorney firms in the state as others have claimed. However, if you can get Mr. Costello to just call you back you're really doing something! I rate them as horrible for this simple reason. It's mean, inconsiderate and should tell everyone how they would treat you if you were to be taken on as a client. I tried for 3 days to contact. "He's was out to lunch"...(Seriously that's what they told me). "Oh, he's in with someone right now"....right after he called me and I immediately returned the call. Can't talk with you from work, unless you have a cell phone? Not everyone can leave their desk and just use a cell phone for the 10-15 minutes it would take! Come on! I ended up just crying and gave up. No one has the right to treat anyone with this much disrespect and ill-regard. If a person doesn't have a case as someone else stated, or if you don't feel you can help someone, please be respectful and just say so. If he has other associates under him, which I doubt, he obviously doesn't trust them enough to do the day to day screening. Caveat Emptor. Archer and Greiner was kinder and they don't even do "employee" cases! I would have gladly paid a counselling fee --not just $35 if given the opportunity. Stay away, find someplace else)).UPDATE: Please be advised that I spoke with Mr. Costello. He was courteous, listened, likable. Mr. Costello even told me that I needed different counsel and took the time to explain why. He also returned the call to my desk and I promptly left to speak with him. He was patient. Deborah was just horrible. Rude and nasty. Not willing to hear my story. Wanted a short version, but if you want the full picture, how can you give just the basics without going into the background. The time she spent being a real you know what, she could have spent listening to what I've experienced. I guess not everyone has common sense and utilizes their time wisely. Anyway, I've been told I have a case by a few attorney's, unfortunately their offices are too busy. I know I have been wrongly discriminated from my former employer and I know I will eventually find an attorney, matter of fact I will be speaking with one in the next handful of days. I'm just happy that when I win and notice I'm saying when and not if, but when I win there will be no percentage of what I am awarded going into Deborah's pocket. We all know that the firm will deny this ever happening and will also say that I am not a client and never was a client. My case just recently settled and I wanted to write a review about my experience here. I gave five stars because my lawyer Mike Reilly was really great. He always kept me informed with my case and always explained things to me and was very polite . He was super respectful and looked out for my best interest the whole time. I do have to say though that was a review on him and I was very pleased however, I did at other times have contact with another attorney at the firm that I was not pleased with. Also I do want to note that the paralegal Jen "Maggie" was also very nice down to earth and helpful so all in all I have to say I highly recommend Mike he gave me peace of mind during a very difficult time in my life.

Not long ago, I considered calling this firm and did not because of a few unhappy reviews I had read online. Today, I decided to contact Costello & Mains and I am so glad that I did. Kevin Costello and I spoke about my (potential) case briefly, and we were quickly on-the-same-page about what is, and is not damages that could lead to a lawsuit and or a settlement. I tend to be a very factual person, and therefore can appreciate any lawyer's efforts to weed out the necessary legal facts when reading or listening to a long-story; perhaps, one driven by human emotion (pain) and including every way a person was wronged, and the very real feelings attached. Labeling these or any attorneys (at the initial introduction) as rude or insensitive is really unfair, and in my experience so far, completely untrue with this firm. As a client, I believe it's my responsibility to not waste my lawyer's time, and to present my (potential) case in a clear manner that makes (legal) sense. In preparation for our discussion today, I e-mailed Mr. Costello a chronological and factual outline of my situation; leaving out all of my feelings, assumptions, and projections. I believe strongly this is the primary reason that I can characterize my experience with Costello & Mains, as a very positive one. I allowed Mr. Costello to understand the facts of my situation quickly and effortlessly, producing a clear analysis and potential scenarios, that served us both. Got called by Kevin Costello about my situation, he seemed nice and he seemed to care. He told me to go in for a consult. Well when I went in for a consult I met with a young associate who really did not seem to care at all, she was basically asking questions from the interview questionnaire packet that I already wasted my time filling out. They didn't even have a conference room for my consult, I was put in her shared office while the other associate ate lunch. No one seemed to care what my story was when I got there, I felt pushed over and just like another case instead of a person who was wronged.

Very unprofessional law firm. I do not recommend this law firm to anyone. My experience was absolutely unsettling. I called in to inquire if assistance could be provided with regards to my situation. I received a return call from a lady who did not mention her name. I had no intentions on taking up too much of her time explaining my situation because I understand that time is of the essence. I was simply looking to give the details to completely understand the event. I am not oblivious to the fact that any professionals time is valueable and should be used respectfully. The lady was very rude, she didn't allow me to explain the situation and she disconnected the call. Very unprofessional and it's absolutely mind blowing the type of law that is practiced at this firm, my treatment absolutely conflicts with the type of assistance this firm claims to provide. If I could put no star I would. Do not use this law firm. Very unprofessional and it's sad to say but one bad apple ruins things for the entire firm. The real issue was that they were not going to get a huge payout (which they did state in a certified letter). I strongly DO NOT suggest going to Costello and Mains unless you have a million dollar lawsuit so that they can take their 40%.
