I came to Las Vegas Defense Group after receiving a traffic ticket. Being new to Nevada I was nervous about the whole process of having to go to court and the possibility of points on my license. I couldn’t have picked a better law firm to help me out with my situation. Everything was explained to me thoroughly and they took the time to hear my concerns and ease my mind. They were able to get my traffic ticket reduced to a parking ticket and I never had to show up in court. They did everything for me from start to finish and I never had to worry about a thing. Have had the absolute most dreadful experience with this company. It has been two years dealing with them, nothing has happened, they’ve lied to me about the details of my case, they NEVER reach out or return my calls, ignore any means of me reaching out to them, lie and tell me they’re going to do things... a week has passed and they haven’t done it. I’ve had two case managers so far; Geraldine is the one I’m dealing with now. And, she is always telling me she’s sick, or out, can’t be bothered to update me, ignores me on a regular basis regardless of how much time passes; could be 2 weeks or 2 months, she will still ignore you. The only tim she was was ever adamant about reaching out is when she needed money for a deductible I shouldn’t have even been responsible for, and was extremely rude about it; berated me and made me feel bad. Avoid them like the plague!! You will be ignored and lied to!! These are stressful matters that should be handled with professionalism and care! And, Las Vegas Defense Group will not do that!!

Left about five to six messages in late 2018-current (July 2019) via live-operator during their Normal business hours and dropped by twice to follow-up on my wife’s case whom we had paid-in-full and they said she would be marked as non-violent and be able to program out but the OMD (Offender Management Department) said she was classified as violent even though that charge was dismissed in court. All we needed was a simple phone call to get this rectified, yet I have unsuccessfully contacted them incessantly with promises to return my call and get this “simple phone call” out of the way that we were promised... can’t even take a few minutes of time to change a previous client’s life. First off, let me say from personal experience and from having friends and relatives as attorneys in other states, that it is crucial to be represented by established, professional lawyers to prevent being taken advantage of by the US justice system. Fortunately, I found Las Vegas Defense Group. The paralegals were very friendly and able to walk me through step by step, as laws and procedures are different from state to state, before I even hired the firm. One of the best things about retaining Las Vegas Defense Group is their entire firm really does help with the case. Our lead attorney was Michael Castillo. We met on multiple occasions to discuss options and strategy. Michael gave us recommendations and possible outcomes, but made it clear that the final decision was ours. He ended up getting us a plea deal that was better than anything we had even considered. He is clearly good at his job and very experienced. Our case manager was Eric Trolson and he went above and beyond in every aspect of his job. He was always in contact with us, literally available 24/7, explained every detail of our case and what to expect. He went over each motion that would be filed on our behalf, each hearing (which a lawyer appeared on our behalf at each one except the actual plea bargain), and really made us feel comfortable. He answered every question we had. We were able to live our normal lives during the whole process. They truly are a great defense team and I highly recommend retaining them for any legal matter in the Las Vegas area.

Pros: office is clean, promptly response, and payment plan options. Cons: Staff is unprofessional, you don’t know who is handling your case, staff lacks communication skills. I went to their office, sign, and paid 50% of the total fee. Nancy and Michael assisted me and assured that my husband’s case was easy since they deal with gambling cases. When I would call, the office refused to speak to me because it wasn’t my case, even after my husband called and emailed them stating that I was the person to speak to, they would say yes to him but NO to me. Every month they automatically took their payment from my account, but refused to speak to me. When my husband send them an email requesting they contact him so he can pay them, the stupid receptionist took it as, “Take the payment from my wife’s credit card.” My husband still had to pay the court and obtained a misdemeanor for gambling fraud.

I work with patent and corporate attorneys, but only had to work with a divorce attorney once and it was a NIGHTMARE! I wanted to write a review about Michael Castillo because I have never met an attorney so kind and caring as he was. He did absolutely everything he promised. Didn't make promises just to appease me. And by the end of the day. My case was dismissed!!! This law firm is professional! They return calls! Keep you informed! As I mentioned earlier, I have worked with many types of attorneys. Some good, some I wish I had never hired. I hope this review will help make your decision. I highly recommend this law firm!!!!!!!!!! I promise you will NOT be just a number.

I had the worst experience with Las Vegas Defense Group. I only ever talk to the lawyer once. The staff did not reach out to me ever. I had to call and text multiple times. They let bills go into collections. They did not contact any of the medical billing and allowed for things to go to collections. Then when it was time to pay bills, they say it is up to me to pay for whatever is in collections. I've had anxiety about the company since the case has been extended for over a year. I have been lied to and called the car insurance company on my own to get the truth, then finally what I had been requesting was done. I will probably get another lawyer to proceed with what needs to be done or find some other way to resolve my issues that Las Vegas Defense Group did not resolve. In the end, Las Vegas Defense Group transferred my case to Bighorn Law Firm and never spoke a word to me again about the mistakes and the anything that was wrong. Based on really bad experience with this law firm due to their negligence and unprofessional attorneys and receptionist. They booked an appointment for me around 2 o’clock when had to go to work at the time and then when I arrived at the office they were in a meeting or with another case that supposedly would last longer than usual so none of the attorneys were available to talk to me I went in having an appointment I was told I had to reschedule for the following day the following then comes and once I arrive to the office no one was there only people making chances to the office; my case manager or attorney no where to be found. Then a girl walked up and I told her who I was and she said there’s nothing on the schedule at all I asked her for the WiFi password and then she stated we don’t have it.. I said it says public WiFi do you have it or don’t know it at that time that girl seemed like she was having a bad day she replied if you do not calm down you will be kicked out? I payed a lot of money to this law firm for them to drop my case without reaching out to me via phone calls nor regular mail. We had payments arrangements then they just decided to drop my case when I told them I was going thru a rough time? I texted my case manager and he told me he would be alone all night to go over for drinks to see what we could come up with etc I did not feel comfortable with that so I replied the following morning and never again did I receive a call back or anything. The consequences of them dropping my case was an arrest warrant; my cousin being charged at and chased due to the fact the bounty hunters though he was me for that warrant. I will be seeking reimbursement for their services that where not rendered based on the contract other then just showing up to court once saying “NOT GUILTY” I could had done that and saved $1800 out of the $2,500 they charged me for. Anyone seeking legal help keep looking don’t get fooled by these other good reviews be aware!!
