Our son was an Army veteran and served in combat in Afghanistan. After his discharge several years ago, as a graduate student in Washington DC he was attacked and killed. The perpetrator was never charged. The investigation by DC law enforcement was tainted by misconduct. Through our own more diligent investigation and a civil suit settled with the attackers we have hard evidence of the misconduct and the continued stonewalling by authorities. On April 2, my husband contacted the Murphy Firm. Instead of speaking with an attorney he provided an overview of the case in several minutes to a telephone representative. She assured him he would receive a return call the next day. He had additional information, including the name of an attorney we had employed, that he wanted to share and presumed he would have that opportunity. He did not receive a call on April 3. He called early on April 4 and was told the firm would not accept the case. He asked why and received no specific response. He asked why he was not called on April 3 as promised. She apologized and said they were busy making other calls, but there was a letter going in the mail. We are disappointed with the superficial review and unwillingness to engage in a thoughtful discussion of a complex matter. Our son served his country. He deserves better from the justice system. I give 5 stars to the Intake Specialist's professionalism, very caring and empathetic towards my issue. I wanted to give 5 stars but when I asked why my case was not being accepted, I was told that the attorney's does not give that information to them. However, I was given another attorney's information and hopefully I will yield a positive result. All and all the fact that they heard me out made a huge difference it offers me hope!! Very disappointing and unprofessional. Their communication and reachability is ridiculous. Their secretaries talk at you inatead of talk to you and listen to your speech. I contacted them for two separate situations while 1 was never addressed and the other they tried to refer me to another law firm after I was told they do handle the kind of issue I called about. I tried to being business to my own people and found it was the greatest mistake ever made.

Very disappointing and unpleasant. I could not talk to any lawyer in person. They asked me my personal information (name, email, address, phone number, & extra phone number) and sent me a letter about that they cannot deal with my case (because they cannot handle the case. No other explanation). I do not mind they do not accept my case. But they did not need to collect personal info just to judge my case. And at least they should have explained why they cannot accept the case. I regret I tried to contact this law firm.

Very disappointed and a waste of my time. The communication was horrible. I’ve been dealing with this firm for 9 months and after being told 3 months ago that I have a case, I received a call today stating that I didn’t and they where dropping it. I was hurt, confused and now left feeling disappointed. I had a bad feeling from the beginning bc of the lack of communication but wanted to give them a chance. The sad part is they told me to call other attorneys and to pursue my case somewhere else. Should have been told this earlier. Now I have to relive my whole experience stressfully. I really give a 0 Star.
