I am so very happy that I chose Scott D. Lewis to represent me with my Social Security disability claim. It is a VERY lengthy process in which you have to be patient, as the wheels of justice turn very slowly in this case. Scott and his staff were always there to answer any questions I may have had, and are polite, curteous,and knowledgeable. The Social Security "system" is very complicated, and I'm glad that I had Scott leading the way. Scott is accessible, which is very important to me. I had to fill out a few forms initially -- nothing complicated -- but Scott did all the work in gathering the information and compiling it into a cogent form for my hearing. I'm not familiar with legal proceedings of any type, barring traffic tickets, but Scott had things so well prepared, that I think I only had to answer one or two questions at my hearing.I am very happy to say that his efforts in my case were 100% successful. I have several disorders and I am always calling with updates, and I typically speak with Lisa, but any time I call no matter who it is they are always informative, kind, and caring. There was no tv commercial hype that lead me to contact Scott D Lewis' office about my disability concern, it was a friend who told me "Social Security Disability is what his office specialize in and you need to realize something, you have a serious disability." I had a back surgery that had a horrible outcome leaving me in continual pain and greater difficulty mobilizing then before. I thought this was just something I was going to have to live with. I had a very successful 27 year career. Problems from my surgery reduced my stamina and gave me mobility limitations. I am so grateful that Scott D Lewis' office obtained medical statements from my surgeons which helped explain the traumatic outcome of my procedure. They contacted several of my doctors and surgeons and obtained numerous medical records to present my major complications to the judge. I sat in front of the Judge and spoke to him while he reviewed the records Lewis' office obtained. These reports and doctor testimonies explained my issues better then I could, yet I still spent several minutes, well prepared relaxed answering all the questions asked by the judge. I would trade anything to have the better mobility I had years ago, but to now receive Medicare and monthly payments - makes this pain considerably more bearable and takes away a huge financial debacle I was certainly going to fall into. My hearing was on July 20th of 2017, and Scott and I won it. One and done as they say. I’ve had many people ask me if having a lawyer is worth it. I have to say, OH HELL YES to that question. It is a VERY slow process to get to the hearing level. Why would anyone want to go into the hearing without being as well armed as possible? The statistics bear out that more people win their hearing with lawyers, than those without. Not to mention there was a whole lot of paperwork in my file at the end of the hearing, and I did not place it there. So the 2 years you’re waiting for a hearing, it may not seem like your lawyer isn’t doing anything; believe me, he is. So now that I’ve convinced you that you need a lawyer; why hire Scott? Scott truly knows the system. We had a very thorough consultation a few days before the hearing, and Scott completely changed my perception of what was important and what wasn’t. I had practiced explaining the facts of my disability for months, and Scott boiled it down to just a couple salient points. It was, in my opinion, a crucial step towards winning my hearing. Another good reason to hire Scott, is because of the amazing rapport he has with everyone in the offices where the hearings are held.
