Being charged with a DUI - OUI is a very scary ordeal. Especially, when you are a professional driver as you will no long be able to keep your job. I had never been in trouble with the law before and this was a frightening, difficult time in my life. There were times during my case when I doubted whether or not I could get a fair shake. At one point I felt like things looked hopeless. Paul Stanko stepped up, took the lead, encouraged me to keep moving forward and guided me skillfully through a maze of hearings and procedures. I followed his advice and was able to obtain an outcome that was above and beyond my best hopes, kept my job and NO OUI - DUI on my driving record. Paul Stanko was able to get my OUI charge thrown out, and ultimately got me a reduced charge of Public Intoxication. I have no doubt, that had it not been for Paul Stanko, I would have ended up in a far different, less advantageous situation with no job. Thanks to him and his patient advice, I got everything I hoped for and more. If you find yourself in difficult legal situation with an OUI - DUI, look no further. You truly cannot find a more powerful, effective advocate to have on your side. The best decision you can make is to call Paul Stanko.

Judge Paul Stanko is a superlawyer in criminal defense. I doubt there is any criminal lawyer in South Bend with as much experience or as great a standing in the courts. The results he obtained for me prove that he was the best criminal lawyer I could have had represent me. I know he treated me with kindness, dignity and respect (and even welcome humor during stressful times). I recommend him without hesitation!

Couldn't be happier- thank you!

Judge Paul Stanko was the only lawyer I contacted who was willing to listen to what I had to say. All the others I called (about a dozen) told me I should just plan on doing jail time because of my prior record. They didn't want to hear my side of the story. Well, I ended up with probation and didn't spend a day in jail, so choosing Mr. Stanko was well worth the effort. He knows everybody in the court system and he fought hard for me! Update: I have since gotten my conviction expunged.

After being arrested for owi i was panicked and after some searching online i called mr. stanko. He put some of my fears to rest over a phone call. He told me his services would cost $3,000.00 so thinking there was no other option i paid him imeediately. He never discussed payment options or anything else. it was all downhill from there. He constantly had scheduling conflicts with my court dates and would sometimes tell me to go to my inital hearings alone. i had taken off work to go to my hearing and then show up at the courhouse only to recieve a TEXT message from him saying "No court today". finally the first time i met him in person he started talking openly about my case in the lower entry of the courthouse as floods of people were walking in, some of wich i knew. it was soo embarrassing. we finally got what he told me was a good deal. my licence was suspended for a time but mr. stanko still requested that i somehow deliver him origional court documents to his office some 40 miles away. fast forward one year and a few months to when my probation was completed and i was supposed to contact him to get my record cleared, as part of my plea agreement, and he is misteriously unavailable. i called everyday for 2 weeks an he finally aswered and said he hadnt gotten back to me because his computer crashed... as of now i have been trying to get a hold of him for no less than 3 months and have sent about 20 emails and called 3-5x's per week with no response whatsoever. He may have gotten me a good deal but what good is it if he never follows through, clearly his work is done when he gets his check. i would have been better off with a public defender. I know he avoided my phone calls because he's accidentally pocket dialed me back without knowing. He did not hold up his end of our agreement when I paid him

I nearly made a terrible mistake and tried to plead guilty at my first court date in Elkhart. Fortunately the magistrates don't accept guilty pleas at the first hearing. I had time to think things over and found Mr. Stanko. After the prosecutor offered probation we decided to do a straight guilty plea instead and ask for what is called a conditional discharge. That means that if I stayed out of trouble the case would be dismissed.Well long story short, that is what happened. I was able to keep my scholarship and student loans and just got my degree. (I have since expunged my case, so I have NO record of any court involvement!) Thank you Mr. Stanko!

I can't say enough about how professional and courteous Judge Stanko was throughout the entire process. He has an incredible amount of experience, and when he walks into the courtroom, you can really tell how much respect EVERYONE in the courtroom, including the Judge, has for him. The only thing that surprised me was that he only charged me the same (or even lower) fees than a lot less experienced lawyers had quoted me. I asked him about this and he told me: "I am not in this for the money. If I didn't love my work, I wouldn't do it". I know a lot of people say that they love their work, but I honestly think Judge Stanko really feels that way. He doesn't need to prove anything to anybody, so he just represents his clients. I can't say enough about how much he did for me. If you have a criminal case anywhere he goes, call him first!
