ALERT to any/all on the opposite side of this firm. There is a complete lack of professionalism while dealing with other attorneys. While I am in the opposition in my case, I cannot stomach this firms complete lack of responsiveness to me and my attorney. Do not hire this firm. They took advantage of my ex (and me) by playing the game of going around and around, petition after petition, fake emergency motions, etc. just to run up fees. They do not have your best interests at hand. My ex and I would make progress and Katz & Stefani would disagree just to disagree and drag it out for months and years charging for every minute. They billed my ex $5,500 in one day! Their work is so sloppy that they had my ex believe that I was hiding money...more money than we even made which would be amusing except their sloppy work cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars in excess legal fees let alone the anger and angst it caused everyone. When the money ran out, they fired my ex and sued her to recoup the rest. The positive is that my ex found a nice, reasonable, affordable attorney to guide us to the finish line (Kelly Collins of Riewer & Collins). Seriously, run from these people...it's enough to go through the divorce let alone be abused by money hungry attorneys who do not care if they force you into bankruptcy. I would run from this firm and find a reputable firm that will help you to a resolution, not pretend to fight and make things worse just so they can say "I told you so" and run up more fees. Terri Brieske and Ashley Wood were the worst of the bunch.

I used Katz & Stefani during my mediated divorce from my wife. I specifically used Ashley Wood and Dave Ainsley. Both are only there to run up their billable hours. My Ex and I had a pretty simple divorce but somehow I was charged $3K in the first month. I asked for them to stop conversing with my ex-wife's attorney without my permission. As soon as I ask them to spend less tim eon my case they withdrew from being my lawyer, with a final mediation appointment only a couple weeks away. If you like throwing away your money use these guys, but if you are looking for a professional group of lawyers who wont take advantage of you during an extremely stressful time in your life, choose another law firm.
