I have recently hired this lawyer to represent my son in Hawaii. After paying him $10,000, I have read the reviews the lawyer received by others and I had a very bad feeling about the whole situation. First of all, it is always $10,000. Secondly, the good reviews are mostly anonymous and general, and the bad reviews are really specific, written by real people, with names and details about their experience. Unfortunately, I have found resemblances with my case in everything the bad reviewers were saying. He was always answering the anonymous reviews by stating the name of the "clients", which is poor business etiquette. What about confidentiality, what about respecting the anonymous? As already stated in some reviews, do yourself a favor and stay away from this lawyer as he is always busy with someone else' case, always on the road, always coming up with elaborated excuses. He missed my son's hearings, he was never aware of dates (I had to remind him of them), he was talking, talking, talking, but not really walk the talk. His assistant and his son do the work for him and charge at his own hourly rate, he was wasting my time and my money, but even worst, he ruined my son! All he does is to speak from experience, mentioning cases he is currently working on, sometimes mentioning names as well, but when it comes to action, he was a total disappointment! Because I was sick and tired of his lies, I have traveled to Hawaii on my own time and expenses and I visited him in Hawaii. He was not aware that a hearing was scheduled, he was not prepared at all, everything in his office was lacking the human touch. in the meeting room there was only one table and some chairs - no books, no photos, no thank you notes, etc. On the pad he had in front of him was noted $10,000 and underlined. This is Dan O'Phelan - All about the money, he does not care, has no responsibility, no empathy. Six months have passed, anb we are exactly where we left it off, with only one difference - my son is in a Mental Clinic due to the negligence of Mr. O Phelan and of course mine for trusting him and waiting too long. Please DO NOT do the same to your loved ones! Choose wisely!
