I wanted to share my views about the Cuck Baxter Immigration Law Firm. In 2014, I came to the U.S as a student. Due to the ongoing political unrest in my home country, I was not able to go back. Using the immigration services of Kuck Baxter Law Firm, I applied for asylum. It was for their hard work and professional knowledge that despite the difficult times for immigrants in the U.S, I got my asylum application approved, my family members were given visa to travel to the U.S, and our application for the permanent residency was approved. Although it is one of the best law firms with very well-known and busy attorneys in the U.S, I was never charged much for their services. It was something very strange to me, given the information I have about other law firms in Atlanta. The attorneys were available and I have always received answers to my communications in a timely manner. Although, sometimes, my questions would have been repetitive and silly. I am really thankful to Mr. Charles Kuck and Ms. Hiba Ghalib who represented me. Also, thanks to Mr. Raymond Portland the hardworking paralegal at Kuck Baxter Immigration Law Firm who was always available to answer to my inquiries.

They could have been considerant enough to call and cancel or at least tell me when I got there that something else came up. The place is NOT TOO BAD , they did consult with me and my husband in regards to fixing my husbands documents since i am a citizen and we have 1 Child together , Shirley was the lady we consulted with and we felt SO SECURE About proceeding with paperwork after speaking with her . HOWEVER , after the consultation we NEVER SPOKE OR SEEN MRS SHIRLEY after that . we always got emails from the paralegal in which COULD NOT help because i had questions for my attorney not my paralegal. i also had various attempts to call my paralegal to speak with her in regards to NUMEROUS MISTAKES on my husbands paperwork, we would never get a hold of her either . then i started to get emails from the paralegal assistant, i told her about the mistakes on my paperwork & she stated she would fix them, however when we went to sign in the paperwork for immigration everything was still INCORRECT ! at this point i felt so unsafe on who i let do my husbands paperwork i did not want to proceed at this point . my husband then convinced me that "they know what they are doing" & we went ahead to sign the CORRECTED paperwork , as of today my husband JUST received his immigration appointment and as the paralegal assistant emailed us all the paperwork on the cover sheet THERE WAS yet another mistake. seams as if they put someone else's paperwork with my husbands documents that he turned in. i am very disappointed with the service they provide for the fee they charge. il update the post after my husbands interview to see if that effected anything with out case .

Terrible experience with Dustin Baxter and his assistant attorney Alejandro back in 2013. His assistant Would tell me I didn't have a chance at getting my work permit. I lost the first case sadly using them. I hired them again to try to do it over, big mistake. The first time they asked me to sign the paperwork was in the first week. The second time they didn't contact me for 3 weeks, so I went to his office with my mom, Apparently Alejandro was telling Dustin I was screaming at him and bothering him all the time which wasn't true. Dustin took the family that was in waiting room and moved them to his office. Then he brought some of my paperwork and threw it at me, he said " you want to keep bothering me? Find another lawyer." I was so upset and my mom was in shock. I told her let's just go. The paperwork I got for him that took me forever to get, he lost it. My Cousin recommended me his lawyer and I got my permit the first time around. I do not reccomend this place.

The good: Lawyer we spoke to was very friendly and easy to discuss things with (professionals aren't always easy to speak to, Jorge was excellent here). The bad: Despite specifically asking for an appointment with someone highly familiar with our legal situation, we didn't get that. We were kept waiting 20 minutes into an hour long appointment, for which no apology was made (and we only got 40 minutes, though it was enough). There was a spelling mistake printed on an inhouse form which I have to see as a poor indicator for attention to detail given how much is on the line in immigration cases.

Why is incorrect information being given to the media? In consideration of 21S's immigration matter, I'm surprised these 'immigration lawyers' don't have the understanding that a criminal drug conviction prohibits any form of relief from removal/deportation (as well as inadmissibility) under immigration law. The only exception to this is a one (1) time conviction for the possession of thirty (30) grams or less of marijuana for personal use. In fact, an expunged (or anything similar; deferred judgement, etc.) criminal conviction (record) is still a conviction for immigration purposes. In this case, 21S does not qualify for relief from removal (including cancellation of removal). He would need to reopen his criminal case and obtain post-conviction relief (if possible) to have the drug conviction vacated, retried, and dismissed. In regards to his U-visa filing, his drug conviction will need to be waived. It will be at the immigration judge's discretion and the case law/BIA decisions do not support such. Furthermore, his children can't help him unless they have reached twenty one (21) years of age and are U.S. citizens (and/or legal permanent residents when filing a provisional waiver) except with extreme hardship. His removal is almost imminent. Misinformation? Yes, the criminal record may be expunged; however, it's still a criminal conviction under immigration law. In the beginning when he entered with a visa (even after it had expired), if in the case he married a U.S. citizen and it was a bona-fide marriage, he could've filed for concurrent adjustment of status prior to the drug conviction. You're an adjunct professor of law at Emory Law School? Super lawyers? You pay to be listed as a super lawyer. It's not earned. Laugh-out-loud. 02/14/2019: What I said is true in such cases. You're an idi*t if you disagree. Obviously, it makes a world-of-difference since the conviction was vacated.

Yesterday I became an American! Yes, I got Naturalization certificate yesterday in the ceremony @ Peoria IL. It's all because of the Great work of Mr. Kuck and his team during my green card processing.
