I explained to this lawyer that my case involved DCF. Shortly after I retained him, he informed me he DID NOT deal with DCF involved cases. One of the more important court hearings, he didn't even show up for. I called, no answer at his office. I left voicemails and messages. No response that day or days after. The day before my most recent hearing, he informed me that he would not be representing me anymore. The following day at court, he still showed up and stood up at the bench with me, but he didn't speak for me or have any questions for anyone. If he did not show up as planned, I would of been better off because I could of spoken for myself and made a stand. He filed motions on my behalf but after they were filed, he never pursued them. Yet he did charge me for them. Overall, I am not angry for him deciding to not represent me. I am angry for the lack of effort and work he put in while he was representing me. For the amount that I paid, I thought I hired an A+ lawyer and that he would do everything possible for my case. The lack of pursing the motions, being absent at hearings, and the overall lack of work he put in for my case has made me upset and angry. My case worker even stated that at my last hearing, (the hearing where Mr. Wing was not supposed to be at yet stood by my side and did not say anything for myself), because he was at the bench speaking for me therefore I could not speak for myself, completely screwed me. The case worker confronted Mr. Wing after the hearing was over, questioned him for even being there if he was not representing me anymore and that Mr. Wing set me up for failure. I honestly never felt like I was being taken seriously or like he was truly putting in the work for me. Maybe because I'm younger and I do not have the financial support like most of his clients. Horrible. Hired this man's "firm" to represent me in a simple divorce. His retainer was more than most and I had to borrow money from my grandmother who has cancer, but we paid gladly to have his experience on my side. Boy was I wrong. He doesn't return emails. His paralegal is rude and condescending at times. Major details of the case had to be gone over numerous times at my expense. Eventually he got sick for 3 months and in all that time I got one strange call from his cell phone asking me to email a different email. I had sent probably 10 emails asking for updates in that time and not one response. But guess what, he sure billed me to read each one at HIS rate of $425 an hour where prior most emails like that were handled by his paralegal. By the time trial was coming up we had continued the case for about a year because of his "health issues" and had used up almost all of the hefty retainer on emails and one pretrial appearance. I fired him a month before the trial because I had unfortunate work circumstances and couldn't afford another retainer. Come to find out the opposing attorney had sent numerous documents to him and he never relayed anything to me. The file he sent me was incomplete and missing key evidence. I ended up flying in to represent myself and got totally shredded by the opposing attorney. They set up lies and I couldn't respond and had no time to counter argue anything. And I've never argued in court before so didn't know how to handle any of it. The opposing party spent the entire time wing was missing building a beautiful story against me. And wing just blew me off. Now I'm going to be paying out more than I can afford to my ex wife and have been accused of lies that are now court record. Mr. Wing is a heartless man who takes people's money and then disappears, and if he does appear he's unprepared. His actions have forced me to consider filing bankruptcy, rehoming my dog and moving in with my relatives. Hiring Mr Wing hurt my situation way more than if I had study law myself for a year and prepared my own defense. This man should have his license revoked.

Attorney James Wing represented me in my divorce after 28 years of marriage. Best custody lawyer around! Had a custody battle that turned south quick. Contacted Mr. Wing and explained to him my situation. He gave me my options. Proceeded with it and results was what I was looking for. I will recommend to anyone and hopefully I won’t need to be will use again if needed.
