Hello! I'm the owner of Architects NW, here to comment on these Google reviews, as there is no other way to respond. I started Architects NW in 1989, and during our 30 years in business, over 30,000 homes have been built from our designs in the Puget Sound region. We are always busy, due to many happy long term repeat clients who enjoy our large selection of state-pf-the-art stock plans, our creative and builder-friendly custom designs, our quality permit drawings, and our affordable fee structure.
To SS (anonymous review): Architects NW is not a civil engineer or a surveyor. We advise all of our clients that a boundary/topographic survey is required by most local permit jurisdictions, along with other site info like a geotechnical report, infiltration test, and an arborist report. These reports are not cheap, and many clients try to avoid spending that money. We are not responsible for obtaining the information that we request from the client, and we are not responsible for the delays that follow when the client tries to slide thru the process without this info and hits a roadblock. Yes, we resell our designs via our website, which offers our clients a faster and cheaper alternative to a custom design, and also helps keep our custom design fees low. All designs are the intellectual property of Architects NW per US Copyright Law. Clients can purchase geographic exclusivity for their home design if they wish. Sorry for your poor experience.
To Bo Yang: Although ANW is not doing remodels during the current busy new construction market, i was kind enough to share my list of remodel referrals with you, and to take 2 more calls in which you complained about the performance of one of the remodel designers on our list that you hired. I intervened once, and I maintain that I did more than enough to assist a non-client! ANW is not responsible for the performance of its referrals. That designer told me that you called him daily for weeks, and that your expectations were wildly outside of normal. Your "review" makes that obvious.
To Jennie Warren: I spoke to you on the phone and you said you wanted to tear down your house and build a new one, so I set up a free initial consultation with one of my senior Architects. You then changed your project to a remodel. We don't do remodels, we reserve the right to select the project types that we want to do, and we would not have met with you if you told me that you wanted a remodel. Sorry about the missed email, but there are many explanations for that, half the time unknown emails end up in spam folders, which few people ever check. Sorry for your poor experience.
To Alexander Zaikin: He's my brother-in-law from Siberia! Thanks, Sasha!!
