My husband and I are currently working with GARC to remodel the patio area and ground floor of our 1980's brick Colonial style home. It is an absolute pleasure to work with Suping and Yang. When we began designing our project, our goal was to make some major changes to our patio area and the doors and windows that surround it. We had some ideas for our mud room and powder room as well and through working sessions at the house, GARC came up with extremely thoughtful and creative recommendations to ensure that the entire interior space reflects our style and the spirit of the changes we are making to the exterior. GARC is involved in every aspect of the process, from suggesting and interviewing sub-contractors, manufacturers and installers, to working through interior design and lighting, ensuring that the end product is thoroughly considered and designed. My professional background is in hotel restoration and renovation and I have worked with my fair share of architects and GARC is tops when it comes to professionalism, communication, creativity, integrity and more. It was a pleasure to work with the talented designers at GARC Design for our new office space in Lake Wright Office Park in Norfolk. They met us at the office location, listened very carefully to our needs for the space and put together a comprehensive design package. The package was thoughtful and gave us options for all of the major elements. Our main feature is an audio visual feature wall incorporating our company logo for an impressive entry into the space dominated by our corporate branding. What GARC did was beyond our expectation. They spent a lot of time on truly understanding our lifestyle and needs, and introduced the “aging-in-place” concept. The scheme looks beautiful, detailed, and innovative.They did a good job on bringing out the potential of our house, which has great views to the lake. The new great room looks spacious and full of natural light. As their concept proposed, it will be vacation at home for us. Yang and Suping are delightful to work with. They are good at communicating their design. Since I’m not familiar with reading drawings, they used 3d models/images to help me understand, even a VR glass to help me visualize the rooms.

My wife and I hired Suping and Yang to help us with an in-law suite addition to our recently purchased home. The workshop was a valuable part of our process to ensure that we got all the amenities in such a small footprint yet gave everyone enough space that is needed in a three generational home. The permit drawings were delivered on schedule and we were able to take them through permitting the next day and broke ground a week later. We highly recommend the GARC Vision Workshop. Suping and Yang were able to create greatly needed order out of the chaos of the 1956 colonial home we had purchased. The site is large with mature trees and water on three sides. Their design concepts allow us to enjoy the site from every room of the house - beautifully connecting our indoors and outdoors. Their integration of spaces and expansions of views have given us an exciting new perspective on the house. Thanks to Suping and Yang, we look forward to additional expansions into the site. And, perhaps most importantly, they smoothly navigated the conflicts in our visions for the house and site . . . their architectural gifts are excellent - as are their gifts at counseling newlyweds buying/redesigning their first home!
