Block 16 saved my butt !!! Our project was the interior remodel of a UT Austin West Campus fraternity house built in 1952. It was a serious project--gutting an entire floor, taking out load bearing walls, adding bathrooms, addressing asbestos and lead, and fitting the project within the summer school session.
Originally, we had contracted another firm. We came to realize they were not up to the task. When I came to Block 16, we were out of time. Most architects would have recommended waiting until next year. Stu, Audra, Paul, Lila, and Genia instead went into overdrive and our project got done on schedule!
Other things I'm happy to report: Block 16 didn't nickel and dime us with redrafts and changes. They handled permitting with the City of Austin (I was surprised to learn that many architects don't handle this). They did our as-built drawings (I was surprised to learn many architects don't handle this). They worked basically as our construction supervisor. I never had trouble reaching anyone. They helped me get through a very stressful situation and make good decisions.
I seriously cannot recommend Block 16 Architects enough. Thanks you so much!
