It's rare to find a company who's customer service is remarkable, but this company goes above and beyond! I'm not a client. I'm merely a person looking for an architect for a home remodel. After they informed me that they are not in the business of doing single family residences I shrugged it off when very politely Audrey said she would find me a few professional references. Honestly I thought of never hear from them again and went about my search. To my surprise I received an email with several firms that would be a good fit for my project. If their work is half as good as there customer service is I'm sure that they would be an excellent choice for any project!

Hacker renovated Portland State University's main registration building. I knew we were in trouble when Hacker's first set of drawings included offices with 4 walls without a door or window. A client should not have to point out "how does one get access to a room without a door?" Apparently their new fad is the "industrial" look. This means they rip up the old flooring and leave the 60 year old concrete and call it "finished." The attached photos are what they call a "finished" floor. On the top floor in the classrooms, they left ceilings bare with pipes and cables running all over. When it rains (which is does all the time in OR) the water rushing through the drain pipes makes it impossible to have a conversation without yelling. Saves the company money, but overall function and acoustics is miserable for students and faculty. They indeed lived up to their name, what a hack job.
