Craftstone Architects is one of Plainfield's best kept secret in my opinion. Mike, the owner, and Eric, the muscle - ha, are the most honest and hard working people you'll run into when building your new home. They're also really FUN to work with. Mike's a big teddy bear. At his core he likes to take care of people. He goes above and beyond with every project and you can trust that he always puts YOUR best interests first (which is SUPER rare in this industry, let me tell you). I turned to Craftstone Architects in March 2017 after having difficulties with my previous "design" (and I use that phrasing lightly) and build general contractor. My project was a hot mess. I was left with a partially built house, no plans, and I was out over $200K with nothing to show for it. If Mike was smart, he would have said no to helping me. But he didn't. He took on my project and handled it with finesse. I received frequent updates and quite simply - he made my wife and I's dreams a reality. Something the previous company totally failed at. Miserably. Craftstone has been with me every step of the way, always there to offer a helping hand, even when it's something outside of their scope/offering. I'm SOOO looking to having Mike and Eric over for a cold one so I can show them the finished product that they played such an important role in helping us build. SIDE NOTE: Craftstone isn't the fastest, and they're by no means an overpriced boutique shop; they just design really good homes for a fair price. What more could you ask?

In January of 2017 we sat with the owner to build plans for our poolhouse to begin contruction in March. The plans did not get conpleted until the end of May causing our contruction to be pushed back until July. We were told he was busy with other bigger projects. We were never compensated for his false promises and were told too bad after he already took our deposit. Then, as we finally get started building, he did not listen to our specifics that we continued to explain how we wanted. Since he never put it in the blue prints, it was too late for the carpenter to change it. Our ceiling was completely wrong!! This company took something we were so excited to build into a horrible experience. Hiring an architect was a huge financial decision for us. We hired an architect for ideas and guidance and received no original ideas and was lied to about what and when he could complete it. He at one point told us he did one spec the night before while he was laying im bed and it was the worst draft I have ever seen when it should have been finished weeks before! I would never recommend this company!!

Craftstone Architects is a great company to do business with, I have worked with them on two corporate projects so far. If it wasn't for Mike we wouldn't have been able to get permit approval in a timely manner for our steel walk way that connects our two buildings to allow pedestrian traffic.
