We were very happy with our first project so when we needed a major remodel for our new condominium we never considered using a different firm. Schachne handled our complete project from design to completion of construction. Schachne provided us with a project calendar at the outset and weekly updates with photos of the project. Their communications with us were wonderful. They did not upset our neighbors or the building management - a tremendous plus. The project was completed on time and on budget. Our project was very complex and very design intensive; Schachne’ design services and skills were outstanding and our home is the showplace of our entire building! We found Schachne Architects & Builders’ website through online reviews and sent an inquiry through email. Stan called us right away and the next day we met with their team to talk about our whole house remodel/expansion. We left that meeting confident they were the company to shepherd our project through concept design and construction – a one stop shop with a professional team of architects, designers, project managers and top notch subcontractors. We cannot emphasize enough the benefits we experienced of having an architect and general contractor being the same company. Stan and Donna’s team streamlined the process, communications and completions through the complex South Florida building codes which we learned are some of the toughest in the nation. It was also so helpful to have Donna’s interior design knowledge to create a truly superior living space. She guided us every step of the way by scheduling appointments in showrooms, sending us ideas, meeting fabricators and synchronizing details with our own conceptual ideas. On-site, Jeremy, Dane and Ken were all very hands on and worked daily to ensure our utmost satisfaction right down to the slightest detail. We absolutely love our new home and we cannot thank Schachne’s enough!

From start to finish, it was a pleasure working with Donna and Stan on the design of our home on the island of Bonaire. The outcome was more than we had ever imagined. Their design was exceptional and fulfilled all of our requirements. From the placement of the house on the site and unique floor plan that provides ocean views from every room to the utilization of the island breezes for ventilation through the entire house, everything worked as designed. I would highly recommend them; they listened to our needs and provided a fantastic finished product.

My project was the addition of a family room and covered deck from foundation to tile roof. From the beginning of this project to the last detail Mr. Schachne provided the best advice, excellent sub-contractors, explained every step and was immediately available to answer my questions and correct any mistake. I was secure in the knowledge that my project was in good hands. He is very professional, met deadlines and kept on budget. My addition is wonderful. His work is so good that he has just started work on another house on my street. That makes 3 houses so far.

We are just about to start our second project with Stan and Donna- we couldn't be more pleased with their work! We initially worked with the Schachnes in 2015 to remodel an older water front home in east Fort Lauderdale. Since then, our family has expanded, and so has our need for more room. Deciding the type of addition was the difficult part- calling Schachne Architect and Builders was the easy part. We knew the high level of quality they offer, and we love how they stand by their work. We were recommended Stan and Donna from friends of ours who had a kitchen/ family room remodel completed in 2014, and since then we have recommended the Schachnes to at least half a dozen other people. The outstanding work that Stan Schachne (Schachne Architects & Builders) did in our home expansion and renovation can't be put into words! He and his team are amazing! If we could, we'd give them 10 STARS!!! We had done renovations in the past and were disappointed and unhappy with our previous builders; unfortunately that it's not surprising in South Florida. So when we found Stan at the Home Show in Fort Lauderdale, we knew immediately that we were dealing with an incredibly knowledgeable and professional company. He far exceeded our expectations!!! We hired Stan and his team to do an extensive master bathroom renovation. I cannot say more positive things about the end result and overall experience with him and his team! I have my DREAM bathroom and they were responsible, respectful, perfectionistic, and responsive throughout the entire experience. Renovations are never a "stress free" experience, but Stan made it as smooth as possible, given that I was also 9 months pregnant during the end of the project! We would definitely highly recommend and will continue to use them on our future projects!

We contracted Schachne Architects + Builders for our home renovation project and we are very happy we did! Our home is totally amazing! We had a large addition/renovation project in mind for our property. We wanted two large expansions to our existing home to include an attached full guest home (in-law suite), 4 car garage, large family room, two more bedrooms, a full bath, renovated pool and pool deck area, and a wall fountain. Like we said we had a pretty big project in mind. From the start we knew we were in good hands after first meeting with Stan and Donna. We could see from their prior projects that they are an excellent design/build firm. We would think that all great home projects start with a great architectural design for which their vision and expertise made that happen. They did an outstanding job in taking what we wanted to accomplish with our home project and turn all of those ideas into a fantastic design which blended and flowed our existing home structure beautifully with the new additions. Whereas the now finished expanded home presents as a single contiguous and cohesive structure, and not a home with some obvious additions made to it. We love all the custom design elements everywhere, a personal favorite was the beautiful custom bar Donna designed, it’s fantastic. It was their attention to detail, thoughtfulness, and thoroughness that is important to note. These qualities made all the difference between a good project result and a truly great project result. But if you are interested in truly understanding the scope of all the work done have Stan bring you by to check it out. Schachne Architects & Builders recently completed our full home renovation. We could not be happier with the outcome. We found the neighborhood we wanted to purchase a new home in, but many of the houses were showing their age. The Schachne’s assured us that if we found a property we loved, they could transform the existing house into our dream home. They were not kidding! The entire home was gutted down and built back up into everything we wanted and more! As a young family, we wanted a home that would work for us as our daughter grows up and our needs in a house change. Donna and Stan completely understood this and designed the home as such. Drawing on their own experiences, they had many wonderful recommendations for unique home features. We incorporated them all! The home was designed with a future addition in mind should our family grow. Talk about planning ahead! The process was seamless and enjoyable as we took an active yet low stress part in planning our dream home. Donna and Stan knew how to create the exact look we were going for, even when we ourselves did not know how to put it into words what we wanted. All workers that came into the home were kind, trustworthy and reliable. The quality of all work done was top of the line and the finished product is just beautiful. Our home has a great “feel” to it from the moment you enter. It is warm and inviting while having a clean and modern feel to it. In our opinion, this is not easily achieved! The lakefront lot was amazing in the neighborhood we wanted – but the house was awful. The floor plan was odd and choppy with the tiniest kitchen I’ve ever seen. Nor did it take advantage of its only asset . . . the property’s lake. Prior to purchasing the home, we spoke to 2 architects to see what could be done. They both said “knock it down.” However, the home values in the neighborhood didn’t support the investment we would have had to make if we built a new home on the property. We gave it one more try and called Schachne Architects & Builders, whose work we saw on Houzz. Stan met us at the house. After walking around the house and site, Stan differed from the others and told us that the house had “tremendous potential.” We met with Stan and Donna to discuss our design aesthetic and our wishes for the house. The house had many challenges so we didn’t expect many options, but in our third meeting we were presented with not one but with three amazing remodel plans from which to choose. Where the other builders were unable to have one single creative vision, the Schachnes presented three, each with varying costs and features. All three plans presented were creative and functional, and each had the “wow” factor we desired. We were blown away! The Schachne’s designs transformed a dark, creepy house into a bright and functional dream home which maximizes the lake views and is best described by our daughter as “peaceful.” We receive many compliments from our guests but the two that we hear most are “tranquil” and “paradise.” Thank you Stan and Donna. You have set yourselves apart from your colleagues with creativity, problem solving abilities and professionalism.
