Working with Lou Contadino has been an easy partnership. There was tremendous give and take on ideas. Contadino Architects are always accessible and helpful. We came to Lou with years of pictures and lists of ideas and he synthesized everything into a design that was exactly what we had envisioned. We are currently building and he is always available to our contractor for clarification. We have had numerous houses and have done extensive remodeling including additions but this is our first experience of building from scratch and Lou has made it fun and enjoyable, what more can one ask?

Avoid Louis Contadino architects at any price. I stopped by here and the building next door that they own, 430 East Putnam Avenue in Cos Cob. This is a small mixed commercial building with a photographer, insurance agent and a couple of residential units upstairs. On the corner of the building there is a 2 story sheet of ice that runs from the roof to the ground spilling over the bottom of a set of stairs to the upstairs units and onto the ground, incredibly dangerous and no amount of salt can fix, measuring an area of about 4'x4'. Speaking with a tenant they informed me the Landlord steadfastly refuses to fix the issue and they have put up with it several years lasting 6-8 weeks each year. The sheet of ice is caused by nothing more complicated than a broken gutter, Its remarkable to think that an architectural company especially would risk the health and safety of their tenants and visitors so casually. Even more remarkable that as architects they wouldn't be especially concerned. If they treat their tenants and their customers in such a reckless manner I can't imagine they should be trusted with Architectural projects, just awful. Pabsy
