I could write positive things all day about the Gettliffe team. Working with Dominique, Alejandra, and the entire crew was a pleasure. They patiently walked us through the tradeoffs between project features and our limited budget, helping us understand the implications of options we considered. After understanding our priorities they added their design artistry to transform our home into a place we appreciate every day. Their emphasis on a sound structure and unseen design was evident throughout as well, identifying framing issues with the original structure and working in remediation with minimal incremental cost. The care around the foundation and drainage is especially appreciated since the recent flooding in Boulder as we had no basement flooding, unlike nearly all of our neighbors in similar terrain. Their services during construction were excellent, helping us deal with unexpected issues -- we always felt supported by their care and expertise.

"I want to take this opportunity to commend and recommend Gettliffe Architecture. My wife Leslie and I recently received a certificate of occupancy of our home 3 miles outside of Salida, Colorado (on December 20, 2013). We purchased the property in 2006 and involved Gettliffe Architecture, frankly, even before the sale was concluded. We were interested in whether or not the site would receive good sun so this critical and renewable energy source could be utilized. They answered that question and we started the project. Many other questions would be asked and resolved along the way. While we had some specific “wants” in the house and incorporated those desires; the architectural vision and integrity was created and managed along the way by Dominique and Alejandra. They advised us when an idea was or was not in keeping with our overall desires and the architectural theme that was developed. From the first site visit to see our vision, through the schematic design stage, through revisions of the plans and finalization of same, to construction drawings, and the multiple questions that occur during the building process, and into the countless design issues that arise during construction – the Gettliffe Architecture team counseled us wisely and in concert with our vision of the house and their architectural interpretation of our vision. We respect and trust their sense of space, design, and relationship, both within the structure, and how the house integrated with the incredible beauty of the site in all directions. We were not interested in a house that overpowered the natural beauty, rather a modern expression of our vision that sat in harmony with nature while still honoring the surroundings. The resulting home is spectacular – clearly reflecting our desires for style and living; but stamped clearly with Dominique and Alejandra's unique architectural creativity, talent, skill, experience, and artistry. They are truly creative architects, who see the end product from many facets, directions, and perspectives from the outset and throughout creation and implementation. We are thrilled with the result. Just so you know, this is the second home that Dominique has designed for me personally, one completed in 1987 and now, this one.
