Conspiring with the school district to tear down Champaign's historic 1884 Burnham Mansion to make room for a parking lot. Shameful. I would not recommend using Perkins+Will since they do not respect local history and preservation of historically significant architecture.

They have poor design style, are wasteful of natural light, with glass walls placed directly alongside rows of overhead fluorescents; and create structures that are difficult to maintain. Their structures are good-looking most of the time, but they are in no way built to last, and some choices in regards to the spatial design are exceptionally poor. I would not recommend Perkins and Will.
