REVIEWS OF Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo IN Texas

I have been going to the zoo since 2013 and I love how the experience has never changed at all. This zoo makes the animals feel like family and I love that because they show how much they care for them. I do recommend this place for a great experience for families all around.

We're An Acquired Taste

My son loved this place! He got to interact more with the animals here than he ever did at any of the zoo's we've visited before. When we left he said he wanted to be a veterinarian, and that the people that work there are super cool because they were "colorful like peacocks with all the tattoos"

Jarrett Hairell

This place is a most stop and check out destination it's for all ages and you'll not find anything else like it in Texas. My family and I had no idea we where going to get feed all the random chickens that basically run this place. They have goats, sheep, and pigs you can feed as well and there hilarious we threw our son with a bag full of feed in the pin with all them and they swarmed him it was awesome he had such a great experience. Go check it out

Brooke Ellis

Wow! This place was so much more than we expected. Fun that the whole family can enjoy! The animals all look happy and healthy, and the staff (well, most of them) were incredible! When we first arrived, we were greeted by Colby, who was extremely informative. She told us about the different shows going on throughout the day. PRO TIP: Check the website for that days show schedule before you visit so you don’t miss the ones you want to see. We were bummed to discover we missed the lion feeding. We then ventured outside to cross paths with the young lady who did the shows. She was carrying the most beautiful yellow snake I’ve ever seen! I told the young lady how beautiful the snake was and asked if I could take a photo. She rudely replied, “well you could have if you came to the show” and just kept walking. This is the reason I’m giving this place 4 stars instead of 5. Maybe she was just having a bad day, because it really seems like this zoo values customer service. Jacy and her little helpers at the mining area were so sweet! As was the woman with the long dark hair who spent 10 minutes with us answering questions about the gorgeous white lions. All in all, we had a great time and will definitely be back next time we are passing through town. Can’t wait to see all of the future improvements and expansions!

jennifer robinson

Nice side attraction. I feel some of the cages are a little small for some of their animals, but I heard they are planning on eventually expanding. You can tell the people who work there care about these animals.

Louis Wood

Beautiful, very clean small zoo. A lots of animals very impress.

Ubed Mohammed

Very nice experience, they had lots of varieties of snakes and petting the animals was fun. Not very big zoo but it's worth the trip for kids and all.

Murphy

I love to bring my grandson here! He loves animals and has a blast here.

Kati Reeves

Such a cool place. Got mauled by goats and watched staff feed baby lions.

Steph Cutler-Robbins

5 stars for “oh my god baby white lions” but 2 stars for lack of stimulation for baby white lions. Buuuut also 4 stars for keeping them on display for only a short time to socialize them before taking them back behind the scenes where they hopefully have more to challenge/entertain them.

Stephanie Proo

Was a great place to see certain animals but was pretty small, and not much going on.

Marcus Perez

This place was amazing! Very hands on zoo, where you get up close and personal with all the animals they have to offer. The staff is very friendly and my daughter had a blast being apart of the croc squad lol. I honestly would come back here before going to the san Antonio zoo. A truly great place to make memories!

Kelly McCabe

This zoo was small yet it was completely amazing being so close to the animals. Since I live near Chicago I'm used to going to Brookfield Zoo and Lincoln Park Zoo where the animals are set far back and usually hard to see... Having them so close was amazing. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals they care for. Roosters and Hens walk around freely (we were entertained by them in the parking lot before the zoo opened). I can only imagine the facilities getting better since they just purchased many acres to expand. Also their snake exhibits are fantastic - so many different species in one place. Definitely enjoyed going and recommend it to anyone who likes zoo.

Fedor Weems

Awesome place!! It's pretty big too. They have snakes, wolves, lions, monkeys, zebras, hyenas, and more!! Awesome

Tanya Avila

I loooooved it. Ive been wanting to go here, but haven't had anytime and now that i do have time it was and is awesome!!!

C Freeman

Really cool spot if you’re passing by. I think it’s a must see. Tons of different animals and snakes and reptiles. Crazy snakes from black mambas to rattle snakes and pythons. They also have some interesting animals in the back. I do think it’s a little expensive but if it’s somerhing you’re into I think it’s worth it

Joseph Dixon

Really cool little zoo. My son loved the petting zoo area. Really awesome place to take the family!

Timmy Broad

Our fam really enjoyed this interactive zoo experience! Can't beat how conveniently located it is, right off 35. Nice, quick stop on our way to San Antonio; less than 2 hours to get through but you could probably spend less or more time. Everything's pretty reasonably priced, especially for as well done as this zoo is, for being completely private. The kids most enjoyed the petting/feeding area! Don't miss the Jaguars exhibit - absolutely stunning. We'll be back!

Adella Young

Loved this place. A very interactive place. Better than the zoo in San Antonio!!

michael Flynn

Very cool place lots of animals besides snakes aswell. A little expensive but good for the kids.

Melissa Brightside

I have been coming to this place since I was a little girl! Back when it was just known as the snake farm. Every year we make it a point to come back because it is always so fun and exciting even after all these years. The have live shows to show the animals being fed. They always have little baby chicks roaming around loose outside and it's super cute. They even have a site where the kids can hunt for gold. They have a gift shop as well and a Souvenir machine! You just put in 2 quarters and a penny, pick which design you want on it, and watch as it presses the image onto the penny! They even have a petting zoo so that the kids can interact with the animals. But I'd be a little cautious in the petting zoo area because I've always seen the same two bumping heads and running into each other They even have a little truck outside where you can purchase chips, drinks. Ice cream and Italian shaved ice

Evelyn Newman

Great place to just take your time and enjoy lots of animals and friendly people

Courtney Payne

We went to watch the alligator feeding, which only occurs Sunday at 3.. it gets really busy, so go early. I was just expecting them to throw a bucket of food in the enclosure and that's it. NOPE! the guy actually jumped in the cage with these enormous alligators and fed them by hand. Awesome experience. They have really awesome animals including many snakes, fennec foxes, lions, zebras, bison, goats, pigs and their piglets, ostriches, monkeys etc. They only bad thing I couldn't help but notice was the condition of their enclosures. The lions were in a small cage with no grass, just dirt.. nothing to play with. In fact most enclosures were too small with very little shade available to protect them from hot sun.. the larger animals need more space, and nicer surroundings. If it weren't for that.. this would be 5 stars easy.

Aimy Thorsen

Pleasantly surprised with this stop on our way home from a vacation. Small enough to walk around in about an hour, but you could spend much longer here if you wanted to watch the animals and weren't chasing a toddler. Seemed very clean. They said you could bring food in and there are some tables outside.

Jesse Jamessrt6

This place was a lot of fun, they have many many snakes of course but also all kinds of other rare animals. All of the animals were out and playful and looked very health and happy. They have educational shows and feeding about every hour. They had 4 kinds of Lemurs, hyenas, lions, wolves, Jaguars, wart hogs, a camel, zebras, a petting zoo, a huge owl, prairie dogs, monkeys, fox, buffalo, alligators, and many many more! Kids had a great time and it was very affordable. This place keeps improving and investing in their exhibits! Highly recomended, we will be back regularly. Up close interactions with the animals

Mikah Duncan

Great friendly spot to enjoy with the whole family! More than just snakes!

RACHEL CARRIZALES TAYLOR

It was hot, but there was enough shade provided and a good breeze made for a good outside day. Inside where the snakes are is stuffy and hot, needs some circulation. I think we walked through the snakes a little more quickly than we would have if it was more comfortable. White lions were beautiful! Lots of different animals to see and a snow cone stand to help with the heat. Highly recommend!

Jacqulyn Sims

We had a good time here. I will say though that the snakes inside look unhappy. Also I'd prefer that there were workers outside monitoring people around the animals. There were several people touching animals that probably weren't meant to be touched and the petting zoo should be supervised. We thought it was super cool that the chickens were allowed to roam free and that we could feed them. Watch your kids here! Literally saw a kid slap a baby chick.

tygger bytch

The staff is great. They seem to like educating both adults and children. The animals are well kept. It is outdoor sp I can be hot but it's nice even if the venue is small. They are expanding and have new animals all the time as they rehabilitate many of their animals. It's very nice.

Shani Zachary

This was a great place to take kids. They have way more than just snakes. So many animals that you get the chance to see very up close, way better than any large traditional zoo. All the staff is very friendly. We came with a birthday party and it was a great time. They allowed us to bring in our own food and coolers. They do have an on-site snow cone stand as well. Most of the zoo is covered so you're not out in the sun very much. There are so many interesting animals to see as well as chickens and roosters running freely. The petting zoo is also a lot of fun as well. Would highly recommend this for adults and young children.

Deborah Apgar

Lives the experience. We'll kept & animals well cared for. The one thing they need is to have larger areas for the larger animals such as lions, rivers, etc. I hope they do enlarge the habitats with the new average they have purchased. Great place for children & people of all ages.

Joe Cuellar

some lions did the in&out while i was there :D it is an animal park so remember that if you decide to bring your kids. it was a fun stop though

Marina X

It is kind of pricey, but at least the money goes to the future renovations. One of the staff members said that they were working on constructing a larger enclosure for the lions, and planned to join the Mountain Lion cage to the Lion cage after the other one was built so they would all have more room. We got to witness one of the baby chickens wander into the Mountain Lions' cage and meet its demise. Maybe the park should put wiring around the bottom of the cages so the baby chicks can't fit. Good thing there were no human children around to see that and be menatally scarred. Lololol Enjoyed myself.

Ari pet lover

It was great but the animal enclosures were a little small. And the goats needed to be neutered and spayed.

Ross Navarro

Coming back from watching an MLR game in San Antonio (on our way back to Austin) my girlfriend and I stopped here because we like snakes but there was so much more! It's a proper zoo for sure. The petting zoo was the best though. The little goats are a tear to watch when they're hurdling the pigs

Kenda Ward

Had a great time with my son! Felt more intimate than most zoos, loved the chickens and peacocks free range style, will definitely go again.

Elizabeth Garcia

This place is small but so fun. The price is just right and the animals are close and well taken care of. There are shows often throughout the day and the handlers are knowledgeable and happy to answer questions!

Veronica Vara

I had my daughter's birthday party here and it was awesome! The staff was great! The got to be real close to the animals and they were well kept. I would recommend a visit to this place AND a party here. Petting zoo was cute! Awesome time!!!!!

Barrett Doulder

Had a fun time. There are snakes from around the world to see, a nice petting zoo with goats, sheep, pigs and a llama. The jaguar and panther we're awesome to watch. The lions got a little frisky with each other while we there. We loved how close you are to the animals.

J Battaglia

Fun place to walk around and interact with some of the animals.

Darcy Boggs

I loved this place so much. They have a large collection of snakes as expected. But they also have so much more! The outside has a wide variety of animals I have never seen in a zoo before: hyenas, wolves, and mountain lions most notably! Also the kids and I loved the petting zoo area, there are so many friendly goats, sheep, and pigs in there! Definitely going back. :)

Daisyy Daisyy

I love this place!! A big range of snakes to look at with information about them then in the back a really cool Zoo!! With a very fun petting zoo..Kids loved it! You will too ;)

Kathy Kentta

Excellent. Very nice staff. They put on very good shows! My 11 yo and 6 yo granddaughters especially enjoyed the petting zoo.

Louis Woodmi k

I was very impressed, a lot of animals, they keep the cages very clean, I'm a reptile lover.

Andrew Gonzalez

My son and I had a GREAT time! They did a lot of renovations in the back and look more like a small zoo. Enjoyed petting the pigs and feeding the goats. Lot of snakes and other reptiles. I would recommend to stop, you won't be disappointed.

Christina Hernandez

This place has changed so much in the last 10 years. It's no longer just reptiles. They now have lions, white lion cubs, mountain lions, cougars, wolves, hyenas, foxes, gibbons, zebras, bison, and more! There are educational presentations conducted several times a day. The staff is friendly and full of useful information. The price to enter is also fairly inexpensive considering all there is to see. I will definitely be going back.

Kimberly Ramsdell

We had a great time. Super cheap for a family outing. Many species of snakes, lizards, and turtles inside the air conditioned space. Outside there are many different animals including a hyena, large lion, white lion Cubs, monkeys, and more. Great safe atmosphere and there was a group there celebrating a birthday which seems like a great idea for kids! We will definitely be back :)

Tess Martello

A wonderful mom & pop zoo. The animals there are stunning and I love visiting this zoo more than the San Antonio zoo because you feel like you are up close and personal with the animals. When we went we were able to pet an alligator, hold an albino python, and pet mountain lion cubs. The petting zoo was fun as well. My kids loved seeing all the chickens (even got to hold a baby chick!), and the beautiful peacocks.

Ashley Guajardo

Saw so much in a short amount of time. Loved it! They're be remodeling soon too, so can't wait to see what they do with the place.

MitchB

8-y.o. thought it was great. She loved panning for gems. The whole thing was great in the heat because it was not huge, but had a big variety of mammals and reptiles.

Jesse Castaneda

Great place just wish i could have held one of their smaller snakes

Clarence Cardwell

Good to see that all the animals were well kept, most paired with atleast 1 other animal, and all areas were clean and spacious. Best zoo I've visited in some time. A+ 5 stars!

Wanda Croft

Always fun to see the animals up close, there are a lot more than you expect! Love the ground hogs, tortoises, camels, parrots, etc.... The kids really enjoy seeing the chickens running around too!

Aaron Madsen

They are a growing zoo that used to be pretty small! Now they are starting to look more like a zoo than a little farm house. Its definitely a fun and cheap place to spend 3 or 4 hours. The petting zoo is also pretty awesome with baby goats and even a lama. Although I'm not sure if you're supposed to feed them the paper bag they give you that holds the kibble, it seems like that's all they want lol

John Atkins

This is a great place to stop off for an hour or two worth of animal sightseeing. The complex overall is kind of rundown and could use an overhaul, but the animals seem cared for and healthy. They have staff that are more than happy to publicly teach about certain critters as well as a funny little petting zoo with eager to snack goats and pigs. I was surprised to see they had a few species of large cats there as well, but I do wish they had more room to be the wild animals they are. Overall neat little place to explore.

Roger Schuck

Wonderful place to visit with grandkids. The shows are great and we like the interaction with the animals. The animals are well cared for also.

Christopher Gray

Lots of fun! Our kiddo enjoyed all the experiences as well.

Meg Fernandez

We went right after valentines, and they had a bunch of special feedings going on! It's a real great place to stop by. I got to touch a python which was one of the coolest experiences ever.

Dolores Modgling

What an Amazing Experience! My boys and I had a blast, the animals and reptiles were very well taken care of. All animals and reptiles were active and happy. They have a friendly and knowledgeable staff, we liked Jesse! Thanks for the wonderful adventure!

Erika Fralick

Absolutely horrible!! The staff is rude. They are more occupied with their cell phones. When leaving we were going to take a pic of our grand daughter sitting on a rock in front of the building ( THERE ARE NO SIGNS POSTED ASKING NOT TO SIT ON THE ROCK) A young woman came out and screamed at us to not sit on the landscaping. Thankfully my daughter had her video on and got it all. We will post this to social media letting the public know how they treat their customers.

kawaii_ Katsuki

I've ban going here since I was 6.i go once a year to see the crocodile feeding. I just live this place so so Sooo much! And not to mention it gets bigger and better every year! I LOVE THE SNAKE FARM

Sianna Wilson

Great place to spend a day with your family. No good3 options, so pack a lunch. Lots to see, animal encounters, and gold planning, too. Worth more than one trip.

Victor ortiz

The kids loved it. Prices were more than reasonable. We were surprised by the amount of animals they have. They have a wolf, African hyenas, white lions and white lion Cubs. And much more. That's more than enough reasons to visit. We'll definitely be back.

Elizabeth Gordon

Great place to take the grand kids...educational and interactive.

Melissa Campbell

Spectacular little gem in Texas! Very clean, friendly staff, animals healthy and friendly/happy. Will definitely be back! Biggest cllection of snakes and reptiles we have found. You MUST feed the goats....they are hysterical. Beware they will try to eat your shorts and shoestrings! Absolutely loved our time there.

auburn bain

Neat place to check out. Lots of reptiles. Huge variety of snakes. Chickens and peacocks roam freely with their babies and can be fed. A few unique animals in the zoo area. The petting zoo area was fun. The goats really bombard you for food and scared the kiddos.

R O

This place has great attractions like a rare white male and female lion and squirrel monkeys, but they are in the process of growing so some exhibits are quite small. I wasn't a fan of the gray wolf in Texas heat; he looked miserable in his exhibit. They have shows every 30 mins - 1 hour. This place offers a military discount with proof of ID. They have one indoor bathroom and a few porto-potties outside. If you're there long enough, there's an italian ice snow cone stand outside with outdoor seating only. The place is gravel throughout, but you can wear flip flops easily and not worry about getting super dirty feet. Overall, it's a great place to stop if you've never been, the experience is nothing like a zoo, these animals are up close and some run wild and free.

Tom G

Super fun family outing. An afternoon at the local Zoo! This place is a must. Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo, in New Braunfels Texas. The have a huge display of snakes you won't see anywhere close to here and a nice mix of wild animals. They have two White Tigers and their two new Cubs. Birds, turtles, Jaguars, Alligators, otters and much more. Petting zoo. Interactive shows through the day. My opinion it's a must see place to keep going back to time after time. It's a private zoo and they are updating and on an expansion move. Support our locals and your family will have fun. Today is National Snake Day. Go and visit the Albino Burmese Python!

David Flannery

All the best parts of a Zoo without the long walks! Their collection ranges from Owls, to Jaguars, to even Capybaras! Awesome time for such a great price. I'd make this a yearly trip if I lived anywhere close to San Antonio or Austin. Even the petting zoo was a lot of fun with the opportunity to interact with pot belly pigs, goats and a buck toothed Alpaca.

Thresia Wille

Went with the job. Great if the staff (bringing the kids) is educated on reptiles. Plants in beds needed better labels and a photo would have been more helpful. Tortoises were great.

Toni Robinson

Way more than you expect! Had a great time. Staff is super sweet and informative.

christina m

There for a party, animals great service terrible. Disorganized and they didn't seem to care they charged party guests admission to the party. I was the party host and told the front numerous times I would be covering all children and parents of children 2and under. They even wrote it down whom I would cover cost for entry so there was no excuse for all my guests to have to pay for themselves and their children.

Jennifer Holdt

Haven't been here in 14 years and this place has changed a lot but in a positive way! More animals, more staff, and some informative shows. I do wish there was at least one staff member walking around outside and in the petting zoo. I watched a kid pick up turtles and drop them and then slap pigs in the petting zoo. The adult with him was no where to be found and neither was a staff member.

Sherrye Jack

Very unique place. We were there 20 yrs ago with my daughter and now with my granddaughter. They have a neat petting zoo and daily shows with trainers and you can pet the snake and have your questions answered.

Krystal Reyna

Amazing place! Used to pass by all the time and I regret not stopping by before! Will most definitely go back with my family!

Clint Barnes

They have the largest variety of snakes I have ever seen in one place. Very interesting.

debbie alston

Fun! Great variety of all types of animals, not just reptiles. Kiddoes loved sluicing for gold. We saw male, female and cub loins, spotted hyena and wart hog; favorite movie was well represented, nice surprise. Would go again.

Kyla Kennedy

We always enjoy our visits. Celebrating the lion's birthday was an unexpected bonus.

Anne Williams

They take care of their animals, but animals are meant to be in the wild, not in small cages for people to look at.

I Oneal

For the price you can't beat it. I have lived in the area for 4 years and always drove by this place. We took our 5 & 6 year old grandkids and they loved it. The staff was awesome, great educational shows throughout the day, you can interact with the animals and enjoy the range of different types of animals. Don't let the sign fool you, there are lions, monkeys, zebras, and much more. Even with the summer school groups it wasn't that crowded during the early hours we went.

Gorn Lord

Very cool place a bit on the small side but all of the best places are also when you stop by tell all the big cats you love them for me

Tish Carpenter

That alligator feeding show was great! My 2 year old grandson loved it! They also have 2 baby white tigers that they bottle feed. So adorable! We had a great time!

Christopher Nelson

Great place to spend the day with the family and won't break the bank love it

Gabriela Stardust

FAMILY like little ZOO, which had sadly to small cages for the Lions, and some Animals appeared to be sick and under Veterans Observations !! There were many chickens all over the place with they youngest running around..!! A white Wolf had ticks on his EARS and not very active during our visit..couldn't find any water access for him , but a small bowl with dirty water, where some birds just enjoyed bathing in, was placed in a end corner area..!!..The good part was the involvement in the Petting Zoo..and the time with an Albino Python , which could be hold by the children and Adults for picture time!!..Two female white Baby Lions got feeded and had playing time, where a Zoo Staff Member explained why the Lion mother abandoned her two female Lions after birth..!!..We were amazed how calm and professional the staff handled these 3 month young Lions to feed and to play with them..!!..She answered all asked question without hesitation, which was a very good sign of her knowledge and her RESPONSEBILITIES!!..Many interesting Snakes were in Glass Aquariums / Terrariums and other Reptiles seems in good shape!! The Lions and other in Wilderness living Animals are receiving their 'LUNCH ' around 2 pm, and if you like to see this, WE would recommend to visit before that time..!! We enjoyed our afternoon there and we will definitely coming back..!!!

Daniel Shiflett

My son loved this place! He interacted more closely with the animals than he ever had the opportunity to at zoo's we have visited before. When we left, he said he wants to be a veterinarian, and that he thought the people working were super cool because they were "as colorful as a peacock with all the tattoos"

A R

So much more than snakes! I was hesitant for so long because I am terrified of snakes. The zoo section was amazing. They had shows every hour and staff walking around answering questions. I surprisingly enjoyed myself! Highly recommend for those who love animals!

uglystru.

The craziest surprise ever! The coolest reptiles I’ve ever seen, fantastic staff, and lots of gorgeous beasts. They have lions that you can get within inches of, and the whole place is maintained very well. I honestly enjoyed this place more than the San Antonio Zoo. I would go back here in a heartbeat.

Robert Caito

Pretty good experience. Watching them do the feedings for the large animals up close was interesting. The animal variety and multi-species habitats for a zoo this size is intriguing. Only thing I wish was better, and this is the same for almost all small zoos like this, is the size of some of the enclosures. As an animal lover, I really wish animals, like the lions, had more space to move around.

Eddie Felan

Great place to take your family. Short drive from San Antonio. Bigger than it looks from the highway. Had such a great time.

Reynaldo Araujo

Let's help them expand more. My wife and I enjoyed our time here! Most definitely coming back.

Amy Parker

The snake area inside has a broad and interesting variety of snakes and other reptiles in pretty small cages. Outdoors you'll find exotic birds (and not so exotic roosters), tortoises, lions, monkeys, foxes, otters and others. We were pleasantly surprised to see so many animals. Enclosures are smallish, but animals seemed healthy. Petting zoo offered quite a few goats, chicks, pigs, and sheep.

Jeramie Galloway

The staff was very friendly the animals were active on their own. The place is not that big but that's ok it didn't need to be.They had soooo many snakes which was cool there are lions, cougars, lemurs and a host of animals that you and the family or yourself would enjoy. Me and my family spent about 2hrs here but it felt like 40min you know they say time flys when you having fun. This is a awesome place to visit.

williest1

Its nice way to spend two hours for the price. Small zoo with great variety of animals including big cats and large land Mammals. Plenty of snakes behind glass habitats, including a Top Ten of venomous snakes. The petting zoo is worth the price alone (goats, llamas, geese, ducks, pigs, sheep, etc ). Chickens and roosters roam free as well as peacocks. If you're lucky you'll catch the howling monkeys in action. They put on quite a show! All that plus live shows every hour and a snack bar.

Rachel Rogers

Ok, so this place is not what I originally thought it would be, a shady roadside attraction. This place has a whole lot more then just snakes! There is a whole zoo attached outback with animals you can actually see up close and even interact with some. I think it is great that you can bring your child here to experience these beautiful animals. The unfortunate thing is that the habitats are very small, as with most zoo's are. The animals just lay there or walk the same continuous path, wearing deep paths into the earth staring off into nothing. With that being said, it does appear that the animals are well taken care of. Oh, and P.S. some of those animals in the petting zoo area are aggressive, be aware!

Jonatan Sotelo

Bigger than expected. My 9yo and my wife loved it. Very friendly staff. Also, they will be expanding very soon. There is an ice cream and drinks shop inside as well as a gift shop.

Deanna Sallee

WONDERFUL experience! The people working there were all so helpful and nice, we all loved it.

Alyssa Garcia

So cute! Our kids really enjoyed it. Have 14,13, 7 and 4 year old with us. Love that the animals are a close enough distance that the kids could really see them.

Noe Saenz

We had a blast here! The animals were beautiful and so lively. The regularly scheduled shows were great and informative. The petting zoo had hilarious animals with quirky attitudes. The displays themselves where very interesting if you have a moment to stop and read them. The Hyancinth Maccaw... don't F with that thing. It will crack you dome or nuts like butter. LoL. Of course on top of all of that the staff was excellent and extremely helpful. The folks doing the live shows were extra conscious of the kids and adults who had any fears to pet the show animals. In our case we saw a gorgeous Albino Python and a toothy but beautiful Alligator. Overall, we are definitely going back again and going to keep an eye out for any upcoming events. Venomous not poisonous. They helped my kids remember. :) Go and see and check out the top 10 most venomous critters on display. Scary but in that beautiful way.

Stacy Dunaway

Since this has changed hands it is a really great place to go have some fun. My daughter and I loved it.

Betty Ramos

We loved it. Smaller than a zoo, but more close up sites all kinds of snakes, wonderful petting zoo. Albino Lions and Cubs. Nice experience.

Ryanne Valdez

Its was our first time going an it was absolutely amazing. We had a blast it was nothing like we expected.

Tamara Merritt

I got more than I expected to get from my first impressions. It’s a little zoo. While it does focus mostly on snakes there are many different types of animal. I liked the outside section a lot more. The interactive petting zoo section was a trip. These animals are friendly but they mean business lol. They will chew up your shoe laces and anything that is loose or smells like food. It’s funny to me. Also very informative. There is a section just in snakes that are native to Texas. Great educational trip for kids and adults alike.

Kenneth Wagner

What a gem, we had a great time during our visit. Oh and yes they have more than one or two snakes including the 10 most venomous snakes found in the world today. Don't worry they are safely housed for easy viewing. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They put on several shows, that are educational, and pemits you to touch some of these magnificent reptiles. Highly recommend a visit.

Brittney Loera

I always love going. It was definitely a busy day, but after getting past the line, we were able to move around a little more freely. It's a small zoo, but there's so much to do. I recommend watching the feedings. You really learn about these gorgeous creatures. It began to rain when we went but there's lots of covered space outside to hide out while still looking at animals.

Shelby Ramion

Such a fun cute little place to spend an hour or two. They have a unique assortment of animals and several interactive shows plus a petting zoo. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and price is not bad.

Varya Ignatchenko

We took a group of clients here and had a great time! They brought out one of the pythons and those who wanted to pet him. There is also a sectioned off area where you can feed animals - goats, pot-bellied pigs, etc. We also got to see the hyena feeding with large raw steaks.

Sam Knotts

Wildlife up close and personal. Smaller zoo = less walking.

Eric Johnson

Took the kids for an adventure, everyone had fun looking around. If you happen to be lucky watch the feeding schedule and get some extra education while there.

falisha shipman

They have really added some great animals, including, Jaguars, white lions, and even a raven! The only reason I didn't make it a 5 star rating is because the exhibits do not allow you to see the lions and wolves totally. That would have been great!

John Tucker

Very impressed with the improvements over the decades. This place has been open since the mid 1960s, and kids especially enjoy it.

Damian Hogan

I've passed by this place for years and never stopped by. Realized yesterday after going that that was a mistake. Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo is an awesome place. Would recommend and will be back again.

Raymond Bell

Not worth the $106.00 dollars we spent and a lot of the animals did not look very happy. There was only 6 of us. And took 10 min to go through the whole thing. Some of the animals look sick. And we drove a hour away for that. Not worth it.

Mr. P

We love this place. Bigger and better than ever. Check it out. It is better than any other zoo because it is less crowded. They have all the animals you will ever need to see, monkeys, alligators, snakes of course, buffalo, giraffe, turtles, petting zoo, and so much more.

Ted Sorrells

Wow, was this a pleasant surprise! Sometimes, these roadside attractions are light on value but this one does not disappoint. Great collection of animals from otters to lions and a whole bunch of reptiles. Great petting zoo, too.

Amy Lynn

We come every year as a family and it gets better each time. It has grown so much in the last 10 years that I've been going. They staff does a feeding and teaches about the predatory animals and they even let us pet some of the snakes and a fox! The rock cleaning to find jewels was so much fun for the little ones. Then the petting zoo portion is hilarious watching the goats try to get your sack of food. I would give them more stars if I could. I love this place and the staff.

Josh Robinson

Bigger than expected. Lots of snakes and lizards. And a good amount of other animals. The petting goats and such part was fun for the little one. Kind of pricey but worth the ewwwws and awes from baby girl.

Reynaldo Chavez

Cheap but an Amazing experience 10 out of 10 would recommend more people check it out. . Helpful staff and amazing cool animals all around. FUN ALL AROUND!!

craig randall

If you haven't been lately, it's time to return. This place isn't just a reptile haven anymore, as its name states, it's now an animal zoo as well. All the animals seem well looked after and we saw three presentations in the short time we were there. There is a petting zoo and feed available for pigs, goats, sheep and llamas. There are exotic animals like lions and leopards, zebras etc. Many more animals for you to check out for yourself

Mandy Kirby

Fun roadside zoo. The animals here appear to all be well cared for. The snake exhibit is fun. Love seeing the list of most dangerous

Marshall Hinton

Park has been improved so much since last visiting. Observing and interacting with the animals was fun as always. My group interacted with multiple staff members and each of them were eager to assist and very knowledgeable about the many different species. Thank you Animal World & Snake Farm for another fun, entertaing and educational visit. Also, don't forget the petting zoo. Love all those animals.

Kristine Santana

I was at your location today for a birthday party and was amazed at all the different kinds of animals you have! The mining was a fantastic experience as well! We got to talk with Erik about the white buffalo, Spirit, who we couldn't believe was a baby! Just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful experience and we hope to be back again soon!

Kristen Rathbone

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! Visited for the first time over memorial day weekend, and it was packed. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. I actually sort of thought it would be more like a reptile house, but they have tons of animals! Lions! Camels! Alligators! Oh my! As of May 27, 2019, they have two PRECIOUS little mountain lion kittens, 9 weeks old. There is a petting zoo, and chickens (and chicks!) wandering everywhere within the zoo and different enclosures, which is odd, hilarious, and so very Texan. They have an AMAZING array of snakes and lizards. The lemurs form just about the cutest little puddle of cuddles I've ever seen. The exotic bird section is so cool! The otters are adorable! I can't recommend this place highly enough! The staff is very kind. Do please remember that the feed you can buy should be only for the petting zoo, and not for just any animal. The little squirrel monkeys and the gibbons were my favorite animals, and the camel is so silly and sweet. Prairie dogs have the cutest tail wiggles, and the hyenas were SUPER fascinating. Great place for kids, couples, and the whole family.

Greg Bailey

Great place and growing. Good time spent with the kids

Crown Garcia

Great place, we spent 3 hrs here, well worth the money, alligator feeding, White Lions feeding and more... come out support the Farm.

Thomas Chittenden II

Nice little sanctuary/zoo. Don't let the name mislead you. They have a nice assortment of animals that you can get fairly close to. It's not a huge place so you can cover they whole thing in a few hours. We visit fairly frequently and our soon always has a great time.

Peige Spencer

Fun small place for the family .. Rather go to an actual zoo but it's a cute place with animals ... Some staff didn't seem familiar with the animals.

Brendon West

Was a great place go visit. It had a high amount of things to look at. Only issue is some the snake did not seem be house correctly. Snakes that need higher humidity were in completely dry enclosures resulting in stuck shed. Some of there Arboreal snakes had no place go hang and were just laying on the ground. Other that place was worth the trip.

Tina Moore

Snake farm.... sure sounds nasty! Wasn't expecting too much but they actually have a lot of animals. The petting zoo was fun. The sheep was very large and kept trying to eat my shoe.

Guadalupe Coronado

My family had a fun time there's alot of different snakes and you get to feed the animals don't forget to buy the food in the entrance so you can go in the petting zoo

Bobin Shaji

The place has a wide range of species. The area where the snakes are kept is a little congested. Still a good place to visit!

Jamaica Gonzales

Nice roadside attraction for the entire family. Groupon'd a deal for more savings. Regular price was about $12 or so for adults. Groupon had a package for 4 for $28. The kids loved that it was small but many animals to see. It was pretty packed when we arrived. They do get a good crowd there. Kiddos loved the petting zoo and all the chickens running around. Great place!

Eliza Menchaca

Best, Cleanist, Caring Zoo!!! This zoo is an perfect example of how all zoo's should be run! They take excellent care of the animals treating them with love and respect, they keep them healthy and the entire facility clean and welcoming. Highly impressed! Thank you zoo company! A++++ Many blessings!!!

Lindsay Miller

It was such a cool experience. The animals are up close and personal. I thought it was just a snake farm but they have way more than that! Lions, crocodiles, mountain lions, lamas, monkeys ect. My kids had a blast!

Aaron Ramsdell

So awesome, more animals than you'd expect, In great enclosures, a petting zoo, lizard feeding area, camels, ostriches, monkeys, lemurs, snakes, SNAKES, parrots, a hyena, alligators, caimans. Indoor area is spacious, and has alot to see, so you can hide from the heat for a little while. large family style restroom, with changing table. Bring your own lunch, snacks, drinks, and you can get snow cones outside. The gift shop is long, and has some nice souvenirs! I had a blast, we spent over 2 hours here, kids under 2 are free. adults are less than $15.00 You cant beat the value for the price.

Michelle H. Tomcik

GREAT shows! Very knowledgeable staff that actually interacted with the animals & customers so you could actually learn about the animals, not just sit through some canned presentation. One of the best we've been to!

Jessica Baker

This place has come a long way and has big plans for expansion. The team working during my last visit was not only very knowledgeable but also very involved with the animals. Jesse was there working to show off leo one of the albino pythons the zoo helped to relocate from the wild. He was cool and calm with the snake which made it very easy for even the most timid of child (and adult) to come touch and feel a sense of awe at the strength and smoothness that is a young snake. For such a small zoo it's efforts towards conservation of several animals and reptiles is going a long way. They are careing for 4 out of only 250 white lions, 2 of which are only 2 months old and were born there. I really can't express how very impressed i am with this group of workers. Several occasions i saw them working together and smiling, helping guests and encouraging little ones to seek out new things. Children were truly in awe. Can't wait for my next trip here and even thinking about bringing my scouts here as its very educational.

Sophie Kosiara

Wonderful treatment and care of animals and lots of interactive wildlife experiences. The lemurs are a hoot, the otters are super cute, and the big cats were awesome. We were so blessed by getting to witness the male lion roar a couple of times. That’s something we surely won’t forget!

DONNAMARIE Adkins

Good entry cost. Great place for all ages to see the animals. Many more animals then just snakes. Lions, camel, jaguar, petting zooand panning for gems and fossils. Frequent shows with staff showing off animals Food truck with ice cream. Expect to be there 4 hours. Time flies by. A hidden gem.

Paul Rodriguez

This place is always improving. I first visited in the mid 90's when it was mostly snakes and reptiles and gators in the back. The additional zoo animals and interactions have made this place more entertaining for the whole family. Now it seems the snakes have become secondary, although still fun to look at, and the newer animal displays are the main attraction. (I use the term "newer" loosely.) My kids had a great time.

Stephanie Sanchez

Absolutely amazing experience. Loved the friendliness, cleanliness and involvement from the facility. Very up close look and my kids learned a great deal from the show. To be honest better than the San Antonio Zoo.

ajcgac1

Awesome experience we went for spring break and we totally enjoyed its way better than the Nautral bridge Wild life Ranch and way cheaper too. They have more animals to see and able to interact more than the Wildlife Ranch they didn’t have many animals to see and super expensive. Two thumb up

S M

Go with low expectations because we did and they were surpassed! This place is not the biggest but they fill it with a good amount of animals. Great place to check out. I definitely recommend.

jeannine lopez

Worth every penny! Groupon usually has great deals!

M Mills

This place is awesome!!! It it’s on is way to becoming a big zoo. Go check out the white lions exhibit!

faded Zave

Best zoo ever. Friendly animals . Lots too see and lots of education

K J

It's a small zoo but totally worth a stop. The otters are so cute and the staff is great and all the animals seem well cared for. Also great stop during a road trip.

BENITO HERRERA

It's a great place to enjoy all the exotic animals And snake's of all types ,And the snow cones and ice cream favours under the rainbow color's, And great shows!!Awesome and fun. Thanks Benito Herrera

Michelle Ritchie

Good fun! Can also do private showings with animals 24hrs in advance. Petting zoo. Animal feeds. Lots of fun for the kids and adults!

Jeffrey Blake

Wow this place has changed dramatically since the last time I went 20 ish years ago! It's not "kinda nasty" anymore had a great time and got to see lots of cool animals.

Rodrigo de la Torre

The animals live in horrible conditions and are confined to small cages. Absolutely appalling that this business is allowed to operate.

Leslie Harvey

They've really made this place a hidden gem. The whole family enjoyed it. Fair Warning though - weekends are SUPER crowded, but still a good time by all.

Matt & Glynis Burnett

Great place for the whole family! Lots of great animals to see. Not a big zoo so easy to get through it all especially with little ones.

Aye Are Tee Ello Peaz

I'm definitely coming back !! They feed the lions infront of you, the parrot repeats almost everything you say, you get to touch the python and, much more we had alot of fun. The funds come from your visits. Totally worth it!

M A Hossain

Small shaded places, lots variety of snakes and animal. My 4 years kid enjoyed a lots

Life just is

Love coming here. Most of the time when we go theres something new.

Zachariah Paul

I absolutely loved this place. they have snakes from all over and the zoo portion was a bit better than expected! The staff were pretty generous and it only costed $28 between me and my girlfriend. I'm a big reptile lover so the fact that I could see a king cobra and inland Tiapan in the same day made my week.

Sofia Rodriguez

Great for the family not to big but just right for the little ones to have a blast loved the Jaguars there's a lot to enjoy and learn on snakes specially if you live in the country over all affordable, educational and entertaining would definitely go again

Lukas Gravley

My toddler loved it.. The free range animals and petting zoo we're a big hit
