We've got all the reviews of people who have information of the products and services of Sacramento Zoo (Zoo) in the area close to California.
Currently the business gets a rating of 4.3 out of 5 and the rating has been calculated on 3673 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is very good, and it is founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the assessment is very reliable. If people have bothered to leave their score when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to set feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Zoo is classified in the category of Zoo.
It's a need Zoo to visit it was easy to walk around it
Fun family friendly zoo. Fantastic giftshop and seemed to have reasonable prices also. Didn't try the food.
Great place to take the grandkids. Go in the morning when the animals aren’t too overheated. Price is great too!
The zoo is smaller than I remember. Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall had a good time with the kids and family.
Great time with the class! All the information they have kept the class entertained ! After the show we all went to touch the animals. This zoo is very organized and most of the staff are friendly ! Big parking lots to choose from. Also outside they have tables and a little playground to keep the fun.
Great little zoo! We took our 6 year old grandson, and adult daughter and her fiance, and had a fantastic family day. Luckily, the weather was on our side (not too hot that day). Admission was reasonable, and the surrounding park land was a bonus.
Star Wars day was amazing. The event staff at the zoo did such a great job. 60 or more characters from across the whole spectrum of the Star Wars movies. All in detailed costumes, open to all photo oops and great with the kids. We all had a wonderful day. Thank you Sacramento Zoo!!!
It’s a nice maintained zoo. Some reviewers said you can spend the whole day at the zoo....you can’t. It’s small. We finished it in 1.5 hrs. Parking is difficult as well.
Very disappointed. First way over priced for what I saw. Really didn't see much of the animals. Most were hiding due to the little heat that we had. Most were just not preset due to cage modifications. No lions, no hippopotamus, no elephants (I know) polar bears. To buy a 20oz soda was $4.00 (LOL). I really should of demanded our money back which the price for admission was crazy. We saw the whole zoo in 1 hour at the least. The Flamingos and the rats were the most we got to see and watch. Next time if we go it will be either Chucky Cheese or take a trip and go to Six Flags or San Diego zoo. This zoo here in Sacramento NEEDS FIXING.
You can feed giraffes! While this alone is worthy of a 4 star rating, there is a lot to like about this zoo. Its clean compared to a lot of other zoo's; there's lots of room to walk which is good for families like ours who have the double wide strollers; they even have a mini train, merry-go-round, and stuff to do for the kids. Animal cages were decent sized, however the leopard was definitely in distress pacing back and forth the entire 2 hours we were there. I cant vouch for the cafeteria as it was closed for maintenance when we went. But everything else was very good.
A lot smaller than I remember as a child. My son loved it. He became unglued with unbridled joy. He's 2, go figure. I just wish I still got that excited about stuff.
Love our zoo. I took my family in town from Montana. They loved it. We have been members for year's.
We are glad to have the zoo here. I went there when I was a kid, and now I am taking my own kid. It's nice that the zoo focuses on helping the animals. I am also very excited for the possibility of the zoo relocating to a larger and modern location within Sacramento.
Have taken both of my daughters here for their 1st birthday! We absolutely love this zoo. It's no San Diego zoo, but it's still a great zoo with a pretty wide variety of animals. The price is a little steep but definitely worth it.
Wonderful for my Grandbaby girl she had a blast
This zoo has some nice attractions, however, the animals look miserable in their tiny enclosures. This seems to have made the animals more agitated and aggressive, although I'm sure the heat also contributed. The front entrance staff was friendly, but the staff within the zoo was young and not particularly helpful. There's a train ride tour that is sort of fun, but extremely short, we also waited over 30 min to board, as the operator was busy socializing with personal friends. They have a very nice, very large, gift shop with lots of animal related items and other souvenirs... I just couldn't help but wonder if they might have made the gift shop slightly smaller to accommodate larger animal dens. I left feeling uneasy about the treatment and well being of the more exotic animals.
Really the only knock on this zoo is not enough signage pointing things of interest. Best zoo cafe I've been to in recent years.
Beautifully cared for animals and grounds. Very knowledgeable docents and staff. So much to do and enjoy.
What a great zoo! It's not the biggest, but it's definitely the cleanest and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The little kids and the adults all had a great time and learned something new. The baby guenon was our favorite!
Pretty good small zoo, tho you can see everything in about an hr
The family loves the Red Panda exhibit and the surrounding park is beautiful
My first time in the zoo in years! I wish lions had as much room as Giraffes have! But looks like they are improving that aspect at the moment. All animals looked healthy. Some monkeys looked depressed but that's what you get in the zoo. Come check out some wild life! Would be awesome if they had a place with a healthy food. Train drivers look extremely depressed, I would probably be too. Please improve by maybe letting them talk to people or open and close doors or something. Thank you!
A must see in Sacramento. Great experience for the price. So much fun with the kids. Great learning experience for any age. The zoo animals look peaceful and happy. Always love to see my favorite zoo animal, the giraffe :)
Ok, it's not that I disliked but rather disappointed. Perhaps, I should of had the common sense that it was hot and midday and that many of the animals would be inside their air conditioned housing where they could get some relief from heat. However, I'm not a zoo person, and my boyfriend, who at age 50, had never been to a zoo, said, "Maybe they should discount on days that you can't see many of the animals." So...keep in mind if you go in the hot summer...mornings best.
Wonderful visit. Not crowded. Great weather. So clean, and staff were totally fine with my random questions.Food was okay, priced high as expected. Food staff not engaged, but, it took awhile for us to receive our meal. Overall it was a good day.
I don't like zoo they make me mad
Really loved this place. Next time I have to stay longer to see all of the animals active.
Small but it was really nice. Nice cafe. Well laid out Loved it.
This is not a bad place, I like it but I guess is a little bit small.
Always a nice place to take the family, plenty of picnic areas and a kids play area. The Lions dens are getting a make over ...so no Lions or Tiggers at the moment..take your own food to same some money.
It was a cool day perfect for walking. The animals are very cool...but I would rather see a much larger space for the big cats and zebras and giraffs
I noticed that some have already pointed this out - going to the Zoo in the middle of the Summer / hot days is, unfortunately, very disappointing. It should be common sense that the animals would be hiding away in shade and not out and about so it should be common sense that the Zoo point out the obvious by either discounting these days, changing hours to half day or just closing down... I mean the Aardvark exhibit had one Aardvark laying on its back in its cave and appearing not to be doing so well... Of course, these options would mean losing money so they continue to operate with pretense that the animals enjoy this climate and that you will be able to see all of the animals they advertise. I would rather put in a donation if the Zoo made an honest attempt to solve this issue than try to come during the Summer again. Lesson learned, but the Zoo should do a better job with Summer hours to accommodate the animals, staff, and the visitors.
Missed the tigers but the majestic giraffes are a big draw and there were couple of calves as well this time. Of course the orangutans, chumps lemurs and other primates.
Decent. A good amount of animals were not in the exhibit though and for two bottles of water it was 15 bucks plus the water wasn't cold at all. There were still a lot of animals so it wasn't the worst.
It was my 4 year old 1st time to the zoo and it wasn't what I expected. 90% of animals weren't there❗Dont waste your hard earned money at this zoo until they finish "remodeling" it.
Very nice zoo. Clean and well maintained. Animals have a good amount of space and seem well cared for. 4 stars only because a lot of animals were out of exhibit do to renovations or something. But I'll definitely be back when renovations are done. Its not a massive zoo but there are a good amount of benches for sitting which in the heat believe me youll need.
Went for the zoo and brew event in may...I think...it was cold and raining and the animals were hiding but we still had a really good time. More food trucks!!!!! The lines were to long!!
It's a great small zoo. Takes my family about 3-4 hours to go through all of it. I look forward to their move in the next few years so that they can expand. I highly recommend the overnight experience. You get the zoo all to yourself, special one on one time and the animals are most active at dawn and dusk.
We are in town from NY for a Family wedding...the whole crew enjoyed ir! Great day..
The zoo is not too big but good for at least a visit. The staff was helpful & welcoming. The day I visited some of the animals like lion, chetah were not available. In front of the zoo there is a park for kids. The park has an entry ticket.
Nice local zoo with good selection of animals. Small train ride and carousel requires additional tickets. Reptile exhibit is great.
Great place to take the kids. Very understanding staff we had to leave early due to little girl had a allergy but we didn't know whether it was contagious or not so they gave us a pass to come back
We had a great time bringing our young son. Definitely fun for the whole family.
They have done a lot of updates to the landscape. Looks great.
Well kept-up zoo, a little on the pricey side given its size. Really the city needs to help upgrade and/or move to a larger location. Fun family experience though, great for little kids.
Took our 3 year old grandson for a fun learning experience. Unfortunately it was not. First the entrance fee of $44 was pricey. No senior discount?? They had no maps other than 1 big one at the entrance. We were not given any information about feeding the Giraffes...needing to buy the ticket then..$5. Or for the Merry Go Round...$3. The Lion exhibit was closed so our Grandson was disappointed since that is his favorite. The zoo is super small with little to see. Other than 3 Giraffes and a few Zebra and wild hogs we saw nothing. The monkeys were all in their cave enclosures. No Red Pandas...no anything. So few animals for a zoo? Hard to justify the cost with so little to see or do.
Fall is the best time of year to visit the zoo. There are more animals roaming about in the morning. The zoo is beautifully landscaped and maintained. It's easy to spend the whole day animal watching.
Lots of animals to checkout, great for the kids and good parking , affordable too
Small zoo but had a great time with the family. Zoo is well taken care of, café has good food at reasonable prices. Everyone loved it overall.
Attended the Wild Affair gala at the Sacramento Zoo tonight and had a fabulous time! Got to pet a hedgehog, posed with an alligator for a picture, and fed a giraffe. It's one of the best charity functions I've been to.
We were there on a weekday morning, the zoo was not crowded. There is a small playground for toddlers, some statues of dinosaurs (they even move and make sounds), and of course animals. Facility is clean. Parking on the street is free.
I loved it. Especially the kangaroos. The train should be free though.
Great family zoo! Never too crowded, kids love it, small but always fun. Feeding the giraffes is always a hit. And free parking! Definitely worth an annual pass of you live nearby.
Lots of cool animals but price is to high for what you get .
Very Clean and employees are informative... Beautiful array of animals for such a small zoo... Definitely worth visiting again with the kids to teach them about animals and increasing animal literacy...
Zoo and ice-cream. So many flavors. Oh my.
Small zoo. Way to small for the animals. Not enough animals. Good for 1 or 2 trips before it boring. Exempt maybe for small children. Had an option for feeding giraffes at certain times for a fee. Have not been in a long time.
Seems like a nice place however it doesn't seem like there were too many animals giraffes and flamingos.
There is plenty of shade and even with the lions closed there were more things than we could do in 1 day. If they just had animal schedules posted so you didnt end up at empty cages that would be perfect
Hopefully the Sacramento Zoo moves to the old Sleep Train Arena. It would be so beneficial to have a brand new Zoo for these amazing animals!
We realized the best time of year to go is late fall. We got to see way more animals in November than during the summer months. The kids had a lot more fun as well, because they didn't have to battle other children for space right in the front of the animal enclosures to be able to see... And there was more room on the playground and in the food areas. It also seemed less sticky!
Such a great place for tourist. Only thing I was disappointed was I didn't see the lions which were the main attractions. But its understandable since it was being expanded
Lots of family fun, we had a great time and look forward to going again!
Fun day with the family and my sons first trip to a zoo. We live in Los Angels but were in Sacramento to visit family so we decided to check out the zoo. Perfect size, not to big but plenty of variety
The lion exhibit was off ! Very disappointing. We went during the day and most of the animals were very lethargic and stationary, either hiding or sleeping. Unfortunately jaguars were no where to be seen and the lion exhibit was off too, snow leopard sleeping . Zebra and giraffes were interesting and orangutans and chimps were most interesting and exciting. Decent zoo, not too big but okay overall especially for little kids.
Most of the animals are never out. They could add more exciting features to the zoo. After the 1st visit, any visits after will be a bit boring. I have a lot of kids and been here for each child's school field trip. Bring your own snacks and food. They don't have a good cafe or snack place to buy food. Just ice cream, popcorn, and more junk. I gave it 2 stars because the staff waas really attentive and cool. Zoo overall needs more excitement and animals to be out.
This zoo not only gives exotic animals a beautiful environment (I love all the trees) but informs visitors of their level of endangerment and gives us a sense of how precious they are. All the animals look very well cared for. The grounds are always clean. I wish all of the enclosures were larger though.
I wish there were more animals out but the kiddies loved the zoo :)
Although the Lions were missing it was a great tour.
Wonderful staff and great pricing. With plenty of areas designed for young children such as playgrounds and exhibits to get close up to a huge variety of wildlife. As someone who's been fascinated with nature since childhood this place is definitely worth your while.
I will always love The Sacramento Zoo But Someone Truly needs to put some money into it. They got rid of the hippo and Tigers. We spent almost 200$ to see less than 25 animals. Most were hiding or not in the exhibit. Growing up this place was fun and amazing. Wish my kids could of seen it then.
Always a great place to bring the kids. Perfect size zoo for the little ones.
Best zoo I've been to, my family and I enjoyed it. would recommend others to go
Great little zoo. Definitely worth seeing if you are in town. Clean and the animals look very happy. We enjoyed it!
I just expected more. It’s a pretty good zoo for the size. They had a ton of exhibits closed down. I would say skip the zoo and go across the street to fairy tale land.
Such a great experience wonderful staff . Found out that monkeys have tails, where as apes do not ! Lol
Always great to see the animals & friendly volunteers. Not bad food either
MY OLDER SISTER TOOK US HERE FIRST / BACK IN THE 60'S...PROBABLY AT LEAST A DOZEN VISITS THROUGH THE YEARS...VERY NICE AND CLEAN...
Visited here along with the deal for admission to the state fair. This was a fun and lively place to be! We went to all the little showings scattered through the day. We would definitely love to come for a second visit. Could spend all day there
Super fun. Watch out for the pelican though! He chomped my daughters arm
A great little zoo to show exotic animals to children locally.
Small and cute zoo located in a nice area in Sacramento. This zoo keeps the retro feeling with some updates in their infrastructure. It's well maintained. It's not crowded and great for children.
Went here on a Thursday during Spring Break and had a great experience. It was very packed for a weekday but we had a lot of fun regardless. The only thing that was unfortunate was the only parking we were able to find was 2 hour parking and we needed much more time to see everything so we missed a lot of exhibits. They had a great selection of animals though with very spacious enclosures.
Such a fun experience! The old growth trees are awe inspiring and the way they use the space is excellent. It seems like they take really good care of the animals there too.
I hadn't gone to the zoo in a few years but I'm so glad we decided to go. It is very well kept, and the animals look happy in their exhibits with sufficient water and shade even on a hot day like today. The staff that we did talk to were very helpful in helping us find our way around.
Very good place to visit and enjoyed a day in the zoo.
I love this zoo. I have been to almost every zoo in CA. It's not the biggest but it is one of the cleanest. Also has lots of nice exhibits. There are also demonstrations throughout the entire day. The lion exhibit is closed for renovation right now
Gave a feel of Safari than a zoo as it is designed to give a feel of forest. Also have many rare animals which are not available in other zoos. My niece and I spent the morning and early pm exploring the zoo. We were disappointed because we didn't get to see the sloth. The lions were resting when we saw them. The pelicans were all gorgeous and noisy. The towers of giraffes were interesting to watch as one of them was fed by the guests. The orangutans were interesting to watch as they moved slowly around. The zoo is not really large. You can spend at least 2 hours viewing the animals. The zoo is well-kept. There are staff around who are ready to answer your questions.
Nice small zoo. Easy walk, free refills on drinks.
Nice, for a small zoo. Lots of exhibits to see and a great place for kids. Doesn't get too busy, which is nice, but on special events it can get crowded. The zoo itself is small enough to walk in less than two hours and there's usually lots of free booths with little activities for kids. Certainly a nice zoo with lots of animals.
Took my son here once. It was way cooler than as a child. Some amazing exhibits. Extremely affordable.
We always have a great time at the zoo. Once we make our way around and see the wonderful selection of animals, we attend a show and have a wonderful lunch as well as other snacks. Good location and not overly crowded.
Every person we encountered today was so patient and pleasant with our group (Ages 4-16). We had a great time.
Took My Bonita
We went at noon and most animals were taking naps. I recommend you go earlier or later in the day. It was sunny and hot when we went but there was plenty of shade thank goodness which made it enjoyable
It's not kept up very well and expensive. I really used to love the sac zoo but there are not many animals any more and there have been no updates in years all the while in decline. Sad
Clean, nice landscaping. Some healthy choices offered at cafe. One negative, the train ride was $4.00 each, and lated only three minutes. Expensive for the short experience. Positive; helpful accessable staff.
I love the upgrades and the new dinosaur exhibits ate amazing! My kids had a blast!
Newly added dinosaur attractions are nicely done. It's a wonderful regular escape to enjoy the Sacramento Zoo.
It was fun. Once the big cat enclosures are done it will be lots better.
I visited this zoo on my first day in Sacramento. There were a lot of beautiful animals from many different countries in the world. The place is very suitable for small children. The whole area is not that big as I expected it would be. However I got to see many animals I have not seen before at such a close distance such as the snow leopard or a giraffe. The space for the animals however should be expanded for their well being.
Small enough to see everything in one day. The parking is a bit wanting so you might have a small walk, like 10 minutes. But there's lots of parks surrounding it.
The zoo is very old but it is really well maintained. The staffs are so attentive as well as cooperative. Good food and great weather.
A great afternoon stroll. Nice variety and layout and not so big to exhaust you. Perfect for our 7year old
This is a moderate sized zoo. Clean, easy to navigate, friendly helpful staff. I visited on a Monday, so it was not crowded. From what I could see the animals were well cared for. A good zoo for younger children.
One of the smallest zoos I've been to. Still a great place if you have little ones and looking for a place to spend the afternoon. Parking is pretty easy to find, and parking is free. Admission is pricey for the size of the zoo, but understandable to help maintain the zoo. There are refreshments and a few snack bars, just be sure to pay a little extra.
We always love going to the Sacramento Zoo. This trip was another fantastic one. Our granddaughter who is 2 loves the zoo. She's been so many times with us she knows all the animals she loves to visit. The dinosaurs this trip was awesome but she didn't like them because "they yawned too loud"
Ok this is not a giant zoo, but it has a cute and quaint feel to it. They have a little animal hospital so you can watch them help the zoo animals. We got to feed the giraffes for only $5. After you are done looking at all the animals this zoo is surrounded by parks to picnic at, and continue enjoying time with your family and friends
A lot of the animals where ether not in there habbit or just sleeping like they where sad and sick.. It was nice to see the grounds tho, really can wait to go back after they finish upgrading the lion habbit. Also I love the red pandas!
Fun place. Come right before opening because you see move active animals. Ice cream safari was great
Great place to enjoy with your family. We were able to cover all the exhibits within 4 hours, there is also a play area for kids if you want to hang around longer.
Absolutely amazing zoo. Always clean, staff is friendly. Animals look happy and well cared for. Seeing the Okapi was a plus!
Amazing place to go. You don't have to walk that much here plus there are ample of animals you can enjoy watching to. Good place for kids.
Although being a small zoo, the people here treat these animals the best they can with what they have. Definitely looking forward to a possible moving of the zoo to a new facility, giving the animals greater spaces to enjoy themselves in. Love going to take a quick walk through whenever I can!
Definitely a place to visit in the morning just before noon if your not looking to spend time in line and in the sun. Cute zoo and some animals to see. Great place for kids to visit and enjoy.
SAW THE OKAPI FOR THE DIRST TIME.. I'm very excited.. A very wonderful place.. Small zoo but has distinctive animals.. 2 hours is good for a days trip.. Staff throughout the zoo is super friendly and informative.. The zoo was throughout very clean.. I drove for an hour to get there, was worth my trip..
Very few large animals like big cats, no bears, elephants, hippos, etc. Adding any of those would improve. Needs to be expanded. Grandaughter really enjoyed it despite this. Ill visit again. Nice & green and shady. Very clean.
It's fun only when you actually can see the animals. The zoo its self is over priced when it comes to everything else
Great safari feel, took my kids here for the first time and they loved it. Great place for family fun. I recommend anyone try it out on a nice day when you have nothing to do!
You don't want to miss this Zoo! The animals are amazing and being able to feed a giraffe is something a child will never forgot. When you're done learning about our environment and nature. Walk across the street to Fairy Tale town for rides.
The Sacramento Zoo is absolutely great but I must say my kids have more fun at Fairytale Town.
I love this Zoo. It's a great place for kids of all ages. My family are members, and we go at least once a month. The kids enjoy the animals, and the recently added automated life size dinosaurs. The staff are always kind, educated, and keep the Zoo clean. I would recommend this Zoo to anyone.
Great zoo for the whole family. A lot of the animals are close together...so not too much walking. Train ride would be better if it went around twice or more.
What a great way to spend our morning! Not the biggest zoo but it is a great way to get out with the family. We bought the combo tickets so we could go to fairytale town after. They don’t have a whole lot of animals but they do have a decent amount. Everyone that works here seems to be very friendly and willing to help with anything you need. It doesn’t take too long to get through the entire zoo. I think we spent maybe a little over one hour here then made our way across the street. We did come early though. We were in line as soon as they opened. By the time we left the line was all the way to the street. There was barely anyone inside while we were there. Could be why we weren’t there for long
I came here for my daughters first birthday. I'm not sure if it was the heat (July) or what but we hardly saw any animals. I plan on returning. Hopefully we will have a better experience.
Just the right size if you are wanting to see a great zoo and not want to walk all day.
The animals live in such small spaces it really makes me sad. Although they appear well kept. My son loves it so we go often. I wish the gift shop wasn't shop ridiculously over priced!
They did an excellent job and you can tell they have pride in it. I like the singing pair of Gibbons and the leaf-tailed gecko most. Looking at the big giraffes is pretty neat. There are some animatronic dinosaurs that are semi life like.
Went to boo at the zoo and my kids had tons of fun
Super tiny but well kept, easy to get through even when it’s busier. We were bummed we didn’t get to see any big cats but the anteater more than made up for it. Got a soft pretzel which was delicious and the nacho cheese was plentiful! What was neat is the gift shop had cold water in reusable water bottles but we didn’t see any of those when we got our pretzel so we ended up with a big plastic one. We also didn’t see a ton of water refill/fountain areas. Maybe a couple of bucks too expensive for the size overall and size of the exhibits.
Love the zoo on any day, but the Trick or Treating Event was a ton of fun for us and our daughter!
It was the best place EVER. My dad brought his mom (who is very old) here and she was very happy. In the future, i'll bring my future wife/kids here and tell them about this place. Im glad i came here.
Got to see the big male giraffe eating out of the hands of babes!
Could use a few more exhibits. Lots of exhibits were closed. And the food/drinks were just insanely expensive. This zoo can't justify their very high admission prices. I won't be coming back unless some serious changes are made.
This is a fun zoo to take the kids to! You can feed the giraffes for $5, there are lots of animals to see, and even a cute train ride around the zoo
Super fun. The people working there know tons of interesting facts about the animals and actually care about the preservation of the animals and their habitats. Can't wait to return again soon.
Lots of things go on behind the scenes to make SacZoo what it is now. Things are improving!
Cheap fun place for the whole family to visit.. rented a little push wagon for my 10 month old baby who loved it and it was cheap to rent so we didn't have to haul down our stroller.
It was really fun to have trick-or-treat at zoo, we had great time
Small zoo, not many animals. A bit over priced. The moving dinosaurs are cool.
Always find something new every time we come back. Fun for a family morning visit when the animals are active. Plus they have some new Okapis!
The animals were cool and seemed to be well cared for. There's educators around that will answer any question kindly. The shop and admission workers are calm and pleasant.
Nice, TINY zoo. They've added a play area with shade for kids to play while parents and chaperones rest. I think it is getting better but I hope they do move to sleep train arena!
Place was clean. The food was good but on the expensive side (Disneyland Style Expensive). Not much to see due to animals were inside their caves deu to the heat and resting. Will not be going their anymore. Moving on the better and bigger things.
Great local albeit small zoo in South Sacramento. Very manageable zoo for families and kids of all ages. Had a great time here seeing the different animals from giraffes to the entire reptile house! Zoo is quite friendly for families, can take strollers and coolers inside for whatever you need. Recommend going in to mornings to beat the crowds and heat in hotter months. Excited to see if they can find a new bigger place to relocate.
Small, but well maintained. Great place to come and spend a part of the day. Great location in Land Park
Love this zoo, it's a bit small compared to others in the area, which makes it a perfect afternoon trip and date place!
Located in William Land Park there is easy access and good parking for free. The zoo doesn’t look like much as you approach but once inside a whole world beckons with the call of wild animals. There are lions, leopards, zebras, and other African mammals in well appointed cages with native habitat. The zoo walkways are wide and easily navigated so even enthusiasts with mobility devices find the path open like an alligators yawn. There is a great collection of birds and reptiles that will delight the kids. Overlooks prevail for watching the animals graze or sleep. Have fun and try the ice cream. Oh, by the way, the gift shop is filled to the gills.
