Very nice vineyard for both red & white wines. Rose' & Petite Verdot was fabulous. Sauvignon Blanc & Chardonnay was my favorite

This is the best winery, hands down in Virginia. If you are serious about wine, you can’t miss it!

We stopped by to sample wine and cheeses and we were not disappointed. The staff was very easy to talk to and the atmosphere was laid back and reminded me of the vineyards in Southern California. It actually made me a little homesick for California lol. Great place, great people. The only negative is I just wished they had a Cabernet available as most (if not all) of their wines are of multiple blends.

We decided to try the Linden Vineyards on a beautiful Friday. It’s quite the haul to get to and we were starved when we got there. We stood at the bar about 5 minutes, freshly opened a tiny bag of chips to munch while we try the wine. We were greeted with a look of total disgust as we were told “ we do not allow outside food in here”. We said sure ok. And proceeded to try all the wines available, NONE were good enough to buy. Well the sauvignon blanc was pretty good and we would have purchased a few but with the stuffy environment and terrible attitudes we witnessed not only with us but all the (non VIP members) I was totally turned off. We decided to check out and move on to one of the dozen or so vineyards nearby. As we walked out the door my husband said “ wow 50$ for 2 wine tastings?” I went right in and asked why we were not charged the 10$ tasing fee. And then I received a smile for the first time and I’m sorry we are having computer issues. She promptly refunded the 30$ over charge. Unless your a member don’t go. It’s not welcoming. OOO AND LASTLY we were told the reason why they don’t allow people to bring their picnic food is because “THEY GOT TIRED OF CLEANING UP AFTER PEOPLE”.

Very disappointing experience! We had been planning a visit to this winery for a few weeks after missing it on our last vineyard outing. The location is amazing, too bad the people inside don't match. They had 5 wines on the tasting list and we didn't have the same person pour two of them. I want someone to enlighten me about their wines, make me enjoy it a little more through the knowledge of what went into it to make it what it is in my glass. They poured, they walked away, we waited. After the less than pleasing tasting we did decide to buy a bottle because we had after all planned our day around this place. Two glasses, a bottle opener and looking forward to taking in the view only to be told that the seating is reserved only for "Case Club Members". In order to stop by and enjoy a glass of wine at their facility, you must buy and agree to continue to buy a case of wine all at once each year. Not only could you not sit, their food was also reserved for their "Case Club Members" as well as the grounds! Unbelievable! So many other vineyards and beautiful people in The Valley to waste my time with their ,at best, average wines and unfriendly, unwelcoming staff.

Linden is a fantastic winery for people who love wine. If you're looking for a party place or somewhere for your kids and dogs to run free this is not the place for you. If you're looking to have a picnic at a place that happens to also have wine look elsewhere. If you're looking for good Virginia wine and a winemaker and owner that care about terroir this is your place. I go to a winery for the wine.

Hardscrabble red is the best. Be warned though, even when it wasn't crowded, they informed us that tables in the tasting room we for members only.

Love the view and the wines! Had a nice late day snack despite it being near closing time on a Sunday evening! Thanks, you helped make it the perfect date!

Love this Vineyard. Visited twice in the past six months, and purchased a case each time. The wines are excellent, the views are beautiful, and it is great to relax on the porch with a glass of wine and a cheese platter. You must be a Case Club member to drink wine at the facility (other than the tastings) on the weekends, and this is a real benefit. You can actually enjoy the facility without the crowds, kids, dogs, and noise that one so often encounters at Northern Virginia wineries these days. The grapes are grown in the immediate area, and the wines are made here, not brought in from California or New York. The standard tastings are somewhat limited in terms of the number and types of wines offered, but I find that each wine is very good, and the cellar tastings open up even better offerings, although you begin to run into some fairly expensive wines. Would highly recommend that anyone serious about wine stop in for a tasting, and you will probably become a Case Club member.

I enjoyed the tour and wine tasting. The staff was pleasant and even offered wine not on the tasting menu. Beautiful intimate deck overlooking the vineyard. It’s a great way to relax and get away. I left with a case of wine, which automatically enrolls you in their vineyard group offering discounts and free wine tasting.

I have been going to Linden for decades, and am enthralled by the changes in the wine and Jim Law's dedication to terroir. The fact that he has not only improved the quality of the wine, but also the experience of the winery is amazing - especially in the face of many other 'vineyard experiences' in Virginia is extraordinary. I appreciate his commitment to keeping Linden small, and I enjoy the variation between the tasting an the cellar tasting. I also appreciate, greatly, the opportunity to sit on the deck or next to the stove and enjoy a bit more wine and the cheese assortment before I head off to the Apple House and then home. It is not a big space, and not having to fight for a table is a great plus. It is always a delight to go to Linden, learn more about wine and wine/food pairings, and spend time admiring the wonderful view from the deck. The only drawback with Linden is that they do not ship to West Africa, and I am forced to buy French wine here!!!!

Please stop going here people! The counters are very small and it gets overwhelmed @weekends. They've tried to alleviate this not only by /not/ advertising but also by limiting seating on the deck and picnic grounds to folks who have bought a case in the past year, but STILL it's too crowded. Linden is getting loved to death and it makes me sad!

I love Linden and their tasting room and seating areas. The wines are delicious and they have a lot of single varietals to showcase the grapes. Some people have said they are stuffy, and it's true they don't want their tasting room to be a party room. It's a lovely atmosphere...relaxed, with little risk of bachelorette parties.

Great wines of distinction and to think on. Once engaged (be a member and be curious) you are rewarded with good value for the money. No like so many of the other and nearby "destination" vineyards which cater to weddings and to picinics. The destination is about the wine and brings the same CA feeling and passion for it in VA.

David Smith

The wine was nice. However the atmosphere was poor. We were recommended to visit Linden Vineyard by a neighboring vineyard. Upon arrival on a slow afternoon, we were told no less than 3 times during our tasting that the seating was reserved only for wine club members, do we could not purchase a glass of wine to enjoy. If we wished to become wine club members, we could purchase a membership and then enjoy a glass of wine. It would be much better if Linden put up a sign at the entrance, “Wine Club Members Only”. Then at least you know what you are getting, before being disappointed by the service.

This is a winery for those who truly appreciate all that goes into the art and craft of winemaking. Highly educated staff, learning from the Godfather of wine Jim Law, share the uniqueness of each vintage and the growing season and site. Beautiful location to enhance the whole experience... a must taste Virginia winery!

Penney Miller

very informative staff, a bit dry, like most of their wine. very beautiful setting.

Ian Rothman

Hands down, the best winery along the I-66 corridor. Best quality wines. Lovely atmosphere. Free scheduled vineyard tours. Not good for large groups.

Extremely rude staff to my family, very inhospitable. Beautiful scenery, had hopes for a quality experience-- did not get one. Would not recommend.

The staff at Linden could use a refresher on the definition of the term "hospitality." Rude from the moment my group walked in the door, as if our presence and desire to patronize their business was an incredible inconvenience. The beautiful location is ruined by the ugly behavior from their employees.

The wine wasn’t amazing, which would have saved the experience for us. We enjoyed the petit manseng, but everything else was okay, not great. The wine was secondary to their approach, however, as from the first minute they stated that we couldn’t stay past our ten dollar tasting unless we joined the case club. They are quite strident on this point. You also can’t bring in outside food which I think may apply to the case club as I don’t know why they’d mention it otherwise. Evidently they just want people who are “wine focused.” This is their prerogative but it leaves me wondering why they advertise to the general public. In my experience, wineries which are this adverse to newcomers don’t put themselves on the VA wineries list. We felt much more welcome and therefore enjoyed our wines more at Desert Rose, Rappahanock, and Fox Meadow.

A wonderful winery. Great views and wine superb.

This was the first vineyard I ever visited, and it set the bar high for me. Linden not only has great views, but also has some amazing wines. I would definitely recommend Linden Vineyards to anyone!

Nicholas Sammons

Great place to stop by for a weekend vineyard tour. Wines are really top notch and the vineyard itself is beautiful.

Windy Elliott

I used to love Linden, but the owner has come out in favor of a new zoning ordinance in Fauquier County that should result in the closing of many small wineries and farms. I won't be going back. I will continue to support small farms and wineries in the area.
