Even while remodeling, the staff at Mukwonago Animal Hospital are top notch. We probably have met most of the veterinarians; they have cared for our 16 year old cat almost her whole life. The clerical staff are efficient and friendly. Everyone seems vested in your pet, whether it's cats, dogs, bunnies, whatever. They also have specialty foods for special dietary needs, and are reasonably priced.

Dr. Thompson is the best veterinarian i have ever had. She has cared for my two dogs for a few years now and i have nothing but great things to say about her. She truly cares for the animals and wants what is best for them. When my dog had a bowel obstruction she didn't just cut him open she did everything she could before taking those drastic measures and he was able to pass the toy he ate. She isn't in it to drain our wallets. I have been to other veterinarians and have been charged an arm and a leg for less than great care. I just cannot explain how much i am thankful to her for all she has done for us!! She truly is an amazing person and great at what she does!

This is the best animal hospital for keeping puppies like me healthy and well alive! I was diagnosed with insulinoma in 2/2016 and had surgery to remove the cancer in 3/2016 and discovered it spread to put me into stage 3 and I would have 7 to 11 months to live from that point. But thanks to experimental cancer treatment plan with Palladia perscribed by the best doggie cancer care center in the world (UW Veterinary Care) by the best team of cancer doctors and having best doggie primary care of my Dr Thompson at MAH at myside, I have beaten all prognosis and still alive with good quality of life 2 plus years later. Dogs with insulinoma with stage 1 has 800 days of survival while stage 3 has less than 200 days. Today is my 800 days from when I was diagnosed (and I am stage 3 as ultrasound confirms spread to liver in 2016) and I will likely see 900, 1000 days and hopefully double 800 days to like 1600 days when I will be almost 15 year old puppy. Dr Thompson and MAH have been providing best primary medical care for me to help me beat this record against serious cancer. I see Dr Thompson at least once a month (40 miles and hour drive from East Kenosha) and she makes me feel better with accupuncture and many special treatments. Fighting this cancer insulinoma with this powerful cancer drug is very hard and difficult at times, but whenever side effects were really bad and I had to take a break, Dr Thompson followed up very closely with doctors at UW Veterinary Care to help me get better so I can continue to fight cancer. It was Dr Thompson who recommended to get cancer treatment from UW Veterinary Care where she has no affiliation with but it was only best place that gave me best chance to beat cancer. 2 plus years later, (5/2018 as almost 12 year old puppy) I am still alive still alive barking, pooping, and tumbling like a puppy thanks to Dr Thompson and everyone at Mukwonago Animal Hospital. If you know any doggies who are very sick or just want to stay healthy in top pooping conditions, I would highly recommend seeing Dr Thompson and Mukwonago Animal Hospital! Having primary doctor who can give accpuncture treatment is real good thing for treating lots of things in safe minimal risk matter. One more thing to note. According to my cancer doctor at UW Veterinary Care, Dr Vail, I am the top pup for cancer survival on Palladia at UW Veterinary and my new shorter drug plan is new experimental plan custom made for me by the best doggie cancer doctor, Dr Vail, who has lots of published work on this drug. He said most doggies who get this drug live less than a year with success being upto 2 years. My special custom treatment plan mirrors how human with cancer gets treated in shorter spans because I have reached 2 plus years on this cancer drug and now I am getting very special new and ground breaking treatment plan that will hopefully revolutionize cancer care for all puppies in the future. Thank you Dr Sara Thompson and everyone at Mukwonago Animal Hospital for helping this puppy (found in Walgreens from very shady area of Chicago at Madison and Western Ave in the January 2008) with this special achievement!

Awesome knowledgeable staff. My English Bulldog puppy ended up having Dermatitis Mange. After taking him in, the doctor suggested we try a new med that has been known to kill the bug. It would be cheaper then giving him "baths".. after the 1 chew of Bravecto he was 100% free. And it's been over 1 year now.

From the initial office visit through my dogs' surgery; I could not have had a better experience. The Veterinary was very intune to my dogs needs while keeping my budget in mind. He walked out to the reception area to explain what happen, what he found and what future care my dog would need. The staff is very caring and walked out from behind the counter to help me and explain how my dog did, meds and care needed. I switched from another local Vet where I had been for years. The office call and surgery at Mukwonago Animal Hospital was a helpful savings to my limited budget. 5-Star; Highly recommend!

Dr. H is simply the best vet I have ever had. One of my dogs has terrible seizures anytime we take her into the clinic. Dr. H came to my home to examine her and give her the vaccinations she needed. He is so thorough and really listens to your concerns. I would recommend him to anyone. He does a great job!

I love Dr. H! I never feel pressured that I have to buy something I don't really need, or do something for my pet that isn't necessary. Also, one evening, my fiancé and I were hit my a wrong way driver on the free way, and we had our 6 year old lab with us. I called them, and they got us in that Saturday morning. Started taking my dog there two years ago. Seemed friendly enough but long story short when my dog got sick they didn’t offer much help and didn’t seem to actually care about the well being of my fur baby. They refused to fit her in even though they were open and did not even offer a next day apt. Their only suggestion was to refer me somewhere else. I infect did go somewhere else and will not be going back!

Was not happy with the service, we received with our cat. We spent good money to have all kinds of wellness test done everything came back he is in good health. 2months later he is very sick, took him in for testing and they kept him a day or 2 and sent him home he was so sick he wouldn't eat or drink we took him back was told he had a growth or something in his chest cavity we had him put to sleep. I had to tell the person putting him down he had passed. Then we had him cremated was called told to come get his ashes when we got there they couldn't find his ashes, after looking for awhile they were found. I would not recommend this vet clinic. We boarded him he got sick so instead of treating him they called us and ask what do you want us to do, treat him what else

Had to bring my very sick puppy here 3 days ago. I can not express enough how happy we are with the service and care for our dog by the technicians and the Veterinarian. Dr. Thompson is extremely thorough and calls us with updates. Katie has been amazing as well. She let us come and visit with our puppy and has taken amazing care of her. We could not be any happier. Will recommend this animal hospital to anyone.

I bring both of my Labs here and have been for years. Most recently my almost 1 year old had to have emergency surgery late in the day. I called describing her symptoms and was immediately told to bring her in. I did and the staff worked her in , diagnosed her and then gave me several options to include other surgery center. Short version is that the staff was very professional, extremely knowledgeable and took care of my dog and of course me. Sara did this surgery late at night without blinking an eye to take care my dog. The cost came in under her estimate, she did what was promised and her staff was again amazing in her return appointment. As long as I have pets this is the place I will bring them.

I have a 5yr old Lab that within his first 3 years had 3 surgeries, elbow dysplasia, then a L ACL and then R ACL surgery. He was prescribed Rimadyl which I would give to him after walks when he appeared in pain. I called MAH to refill his prescription. Kim said that after this prescription, I would need to bring him in for an appointment. I mentioned that I would not purchase anything from MAH. I then called Pet Meds. They contacted MAH and MAH would not provide them with the appropriate information. I then contacted MAH again, and Jessica said that MAH would require me to bring Baxter in for an exam. This is a direct conflict of what Kim had said 2 days earlier. The reason I care not to do business with MAH is as follows: This past spring, I noticed that Baxter had a strawberry protrusion coming out of his rectum. I called MAH for an appointment, Sherrod said that he had a polyp on his intestine that should be removed immediately and gave me an estimate and asked "If money was an issue? The polyp was removed and was sent to a lab to see if it was cancerous, During the aftercare Sherrod mentioned that I should schedule another scope surgery to see if he had any other polyps. She mentioned that dogs with this ailment, usually have more polyps and 10-15% end up being cancerous. I then waited for the lab results. 2 days later I received a call from Sherrod stating that the lab results had come in. I called MAH twice to see if the polyp was cancerous and the woman who answered the phone said she could not give out that information as Sherrod did not return my call. I mentioned to this person that Sherrod had called me earlier with what I presume were the test results. I was again given the "Only the vet can give out this information." I finally received a call from Sherrod stating that Baxters polyp was not cancerous. So I worried for several days while Sherrod did not return my calls in a timely manner. Sherrod said that she would obtain information and associated cost with the additional scope surgery, and again asked "If money was an issue". Sherrod eventually called and informed me that the surgery would cost $1500. This is why I care not to do business with MAH. Sherrod never mentioned to me prior to the initial surgery that he may have other polyps. So why would a pet owner want to put his beloved dog thru an additional surgery, when he just had a surgery? Especially due to the fact that he has already had 3 other surgeries. Shouldnt the scope have been done during this initial surgery? And if not, why wasn't I informed of this upfront? I then sent Sherrod/MAH a nasty email, due to this and the Rimadyl issue and requested that Baxters file and my other 2 dogs files be sent over to Bay View Veterinary. This combined with MAH's decision to not fill his prescription, when I was given erroneous information and was blown off by Sherrod, as they then said that Baxter is no longer their patient. I then scheduled an appointment with Bay View. I did this after I consulted with the Bay View Vet, of whom I explained the situation to, and she said that I should again call MAH to obtain the prescription the exam results sent over to Bay View. She mentioned that Baxters prescription should have been refilled based off of the last bloodwork that had just been done in May. I then called MAH again for and Jessica denied this request as she stated that Baxter would need to come in for a check-up before they would forward his Rimadyl prescription to Bay View. IMHO, MAH and Sherrod misinforms and misconstrue items and only provide certain information to their clients for one reason–to make the pet owner spend as much money as possible, to increase their profitability. Meanwhile, my pet will be in pain until I can obtain his Rimadyl prescription. Also, for what its worth, the Bay View woman I spoke with said that she has heard other types of similar issues with clients who had taken their pets to MAH. Avoid this "money scam tactic" business at all costs. No pun intended. I also filed a complaint with WVMA as well.
