This veterinary practice USED to be a great place, but I had a very bad experience recently, which leads me to believe it is NOT what it used to be. I was one of only two customers in the waiting area, and spent an HOUR waiting. My dog and I were finally taken to an exam rm where I STOOD waiting another 45 min! There are NO chairs in the exam rooms here. I finally went out to ask what was happening, and found that there was an emergency, a dog who lived there in the kennel was very ill, and staff were trying to save his/her life. I asked why they just didn't tell me that when I arrived, so I could come back at a better time or a different day. I was told that only the doctor knew about the emergency; they were not told till a few minutes prior!!! I was surprised re the total lack of communication amongst themselves. The staff then reprimanded ME for not being understanding!!!
When the doc finally arrived, he was in a rush, ordered unnecessary tests and prescribed unnecessary medication. My bill was just short of $400!!! After we were dismissed from the exam room, the doc came out to the waiting area to give my dog an injection. He was in such a hurry that he would not wait till I could get my dog (who was also OVER it by now with long wait, lab draw, fecal, etc.) out from under the bench in the waiting room. He tried to give her an injection while lying in the floor, reaching under the bench for her, and she snapped at him! My dog obviously felt as mistreated as I did. She has NEVER in her life snapped at anyone.
NONE of this awful scenario had to happen!!! I will not be returning to this veterinary practice.
Update 10/07/18: I am posting this update several weeks after the experience described above. Animal Care Clinic posted a full refund to my credit card within a few days of the terrible experience described above. I would have posted the news here sooner, but hurricane Florence ran thru my house in SC, and I am still doing repairs. Although nothing can change the experience itself, I hope that the veterinarian and the front desk staff came to understand and acknowledged what went wrong. I appreciate their ability to put themselves in my shoes (and my dog's paws)! I am grateful.
Update 10/17: Disregard what I said on 10/07/17! Just received my credit card statement, which shows that AFTER ACC CREDITED BACK the outrageous amt they charged me, they submitted another charge for a HIGHER amount!!! So there is no remorse for the way my dog & I were treated, and they felt justified to charge me even MORE!!! THEY OBVIOUSLY VALUE THE DOLLAR MORE THAN THE DOG!!!
