My husband and I have taken our yellow lab Bart to Aspen View Veterinary for about ten years. The staff and the doctors are all very professional and caring. All of the staff make every effort to take care of your pets like they are their very own. Our Bart has a progressive neurological condition that causes difficulty with standing and walking. Over the years Aspen View has supported us with using supplements as well as regular medications that allow him to move better giving him at the age of 13 years a good quality of life. I highly recommend Aspen View Veterinary Hospital to all pet owners.

The veterinarians and staff at t Aspen View have been providing care to the canine and avian members of my family for over 10 years. During that time the care provided has run the gamut from annual well-visits, ACL surgery, nail and beak trims to elder animal compassionate care. The staff is professional and knowledgeable. At all times, the focus is on what is best for the animal patient. This is why Aspen View remains the provider of veterinary services for my family. It is especially poignant that Aspen View sent condolences and provided a keepsake (plaster paw print and memorial seeds) when I lost a canine and avian member of my family. I've been seeing this vet for several years with both of my birds. I am not sure what happened with the other lady. Her bird was probably sick. Dr. Chmelka has always taken such great care of them. He does great wing clips as well as beautiful beak trims. I have tried other animal hospitals in the area but my pet's were always returned to me very stressed out. Not with Aspen View they are A+++ in my book! Highly recommend Dr. Chmelka and his staff is wonderful!!!

I've gone here two or three times now, and even though the place is in a strip mall and looks, from the outside, like it could be a bad pet shop, I don't plan on ever going to a different vet. Dr. Webb is fantastic, and the staff is very helpful and efficient as well. When my 15 year old cat was showing signs of failing kidneys, Dr. Webb recommended changing cat food, and getting him to drink more water...and he took the time to email me a list of the types of foods that would help most. Dr. Webb and his staff are very gentle and loving to the animals under their care, and Dr. Webb himself seems to really love his job- when discussing how he arrives at his suggestions, he appears animated and excited about sharing his knowledge, and references recent medical studies and his own past experiences. Really great, personable, vet.

Had to bring my dog, Bozz, in here early one morning (730am) because his jaw swelled to about 3 times his normal look. Everyone was nice and helpful, gave him a quick look-over to make sure he wasn't in any pain, and scheduled an appointment that day for a more thorough look-over. They originally said it was an infected salivary gland in the morning, and that's what it ended up being. A week and a half of antibiotics and Bozz was all fixed! This place has top notch diagnosing and treatment skills, and I'm currently trying to convince the wife to make these guys our new vet.

We've been bringing our pets to Aspen View since 2007. Everyone there is caring, professional, and go completely out of their way to help with any circumstance. We just love the doctors and staff ! When our 15 y/o rat terrier died in 2012, they went beyond what we expected. We had our pet cremated and they had a paw print made (in plaster) for us. There are no words to describe that amount of compassion! I would recommend Aspen View Vet to everyone!

If I could give this place minus 5 stars I would. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE BIRDS. They charge $65 no matter what. If they cut off your birds band $65. If they look at your bird for 2 minutes and say "oh ya he is healthy" $65. The really sad part is they are not even set up to see birds. they tried to weigh my bird on a baby scale really? and they cut a really thick leg band off my other bird with cheap ass wire cutters, they cut her leg with the cheap wire cutters trying to get it off and traumatized her. AND THEN CHARGED ME $65 FOR IT!! When I asked why they said oh she is a exotic animal so we charge $65 no matter what. DR labondie who is the leading avian vet in the state who provides a thousand times better care then these guys doesn't even charge $65 to remove a band and also doesn't cut and traumatize my bird!!!! If you have to go here only see Dr Webb otherwise avoid this place like the plague if you have birds.

If you own a bird, take it elsewhere! In the 36 hours since our visit my bird has fallen in his cage 3 times that I know of. They'll tell you Dr Chmelkis(sp?) has 29 years experience but they screwed up something. Birds dont just fall for no reason. Not to mention they only have two rooms to see pets. I had an appointment and still had to wait a half hour.

When we woke up to a very sick parakeet one morning only to find out our regular vet didn't treat birds, we were so thankful for the amazing care we received from Aspen View. They got us in right away and provided immediate attention to our pet. They also called on a regular basis to track his progress. We plan on taking all of our pets to Aspen View from now on!

Loyal customer! Been bringing all my pets to Aspen View since we moved to the C/S area 8 yrs ago. Although it would be more convenient to go to a vet closer to our home in Security, it is worth our travels north for our animals to be genuinely loved and taken care of at Aspen View. I made the mistake once of going to the vet 2 blocks from my house, where my cat was misdiagnose and a life threatening issue written off. Aspen View took a 2nd look at the cat and provided her the needed surgery. They have been there for the loss of a couple dogs (even sending flowers to the house!!!), putting a rod in our ferret's leg, and even though it was the specialist that performed the dual hip replacement surgeries, Aspen View called often to see how our boy was doing. The best part is, when I call, I am on a first name basis with the ladies at the front desk...they really take the time to know not just your pet(s), but you as well. Let's just say, they're on our Christmas card list!

Best and most personal veterinarian office in Colorado Springs. The doctors take time to know their patients and the techs are very receptive ensuring the pets and pet parents are completely comfortable and confident in the care. If you are unsure and need guidance on pet medical needs/care you can call and get guidance and an explanation of when you need to come in with your fur baby. After service follow-up is consistently fast and friendly. Even for routine surgeries (spay & neuter) are met with great care and extensive information as to the status and mood of your baby. Each patient is treated as the most important!

Aspen View is the best veterinary hospital you will ever go to. The staff is super helpful and sweet and the doctors really pride themselves on providing the best care they can. I once came to get a new prescription for my cat, Inzo, and Dr. Webb greeted me by name and asked how my Inzo doing. I don't even get that level of care from my own doctor so I'm really happy that I'm able to take my kitty to a place where I know he is cared for.

My bulldog was assessed to have a torn cranial cruciate ligament, which was could've been fixed when vacationing doctor returned. Oh but wait, turns out the ccl was actually a fractured stifle. So when the vet returned the tendon had shrunk and now the recovery is severely limited. The vet also suggested my other dog appeared to have hairs growing under his eyelids, as the reason for watery eyes. He never looked closely (much less not bothering using magnification). So when I got home, I found a magnifying glass, and guess what? No hair under eyelid. I put him on grain free and his eyes immediately cleared up. There's just no way I can justify risking my dogs' health with this seemingly dishonest business model. Perhaps it was just the particular doctor. But this won't fly with my dogs.

We have three poodles...80 pounds, 40 pounds, and a little 12-pound toy. Our experience at Aspen view Veterinary Hospital has been excellent in all cases with professional Staff from front to back. Dr. Schrepel is caring, insightful, and very patient. Our animals feel very comfortable with him, making appointments stress-free and enjoyable for both dog and human. We have had basic exams and shot updates completed, as well as new pup inspection, shots and neutering/spay services for our latest puppy, the little 12 pound toy female. The Staff encourages questions and spends as much time as you need during the appointment/exam with no rushed feeling. The front desk Staff is efficient and appointments are timely. Dr. Schrepel and his Staff also offer dental care for pets. This is a very important part of your animal's well-being, and should not be overlooked. There are a lot of other medical conditions related to poor dental hygiene, so it is important to have your Dog's teeth scaled and polished every year. Since this requires anesthesia, it is more expensive than getting your shots updated, but like a lot of preventive care, it might just save you money and heartache in the long run. Aspen View Veterinary Hospital recently invested in the latest digital dental equipment allowing for high-res dental images. This advanced technology and personal dedication by Dr. Schrepel was instrumental in catching an otherwise invisible abscessed tooth in my male standard poodle. It so happened that Dr. Schrepel was reviewing our file and x-ray images after hours, (yes, he is that dedicated) and the hi res images allowed him to see what might not have been caught. We then received a referral from Dr. Schrepel to his colleague Dr. Woodward, a local board-certified vet dentist. The early intervention saved the tooth- this was especially critical since it was an upper canine tooth! Like most folks, your animals are part of the family- for the best in Veterinary care, Aspen View is the only choice for us and we are thankful that they are part of the Colorado Springs community.

The very best! I called yesterday for an emergency appointment for my 11 week old fur baby. He was sick and throwing up roundworms that were alive! So gross. Anyway - they were able to get me in and took such care for my puppy! They went above and beyond to accommodate our situation. they provided the testing he needed for proper diagnosis and were able to get me all the meds he needs for a full recovery. Our fur baby is already showing signs of improvement and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The Dr.s are amazing too!

I can't say enough about the professionalism with warmth and solicitous care my Dogs have received at Aspen View.. We stopped in one day on a whim, looking for a caring staff and an up to date facility. They were so welcoming and the location so cool, calm and clean, plus there's a different door for cats!! Soon after, one of my dogs required emergency care and Dr. Wiedmann interfaced daily with the ER and took over the follow up care seamlessly. My dogs were instantly at home in the environment. Look no further, this is your new Vet!!

EDIT: The staff has reach out to us regarding our previous visits. While the front desk ladies apologized on behalf of the doctor, he has changed his behavior personally. I am pleasantly surprised at their efficiency and their willingness to resolve the experience my family had. My family has found this acceptable therefore so do I. Our animals will continue to see the staff at Aspen View. ~~~~ Dr. Chmelka is not nice at all - pick almost anyone but him. ESPECIALLY in his bed side manner towards those with ill animals. I'm sorry but if you cannot take the time to be slow and address all concerns to someone who is processing shock, you should not be a vet. In fact, I hope he KNOWS he was heard beyond the staff doors talking poorly of us as we tried to obtain as much information as we could for the future care of our pet. You were literally heard beyond the door with an attitude, "I TOLD HER" was all that had to be known as you talked about us to your other staff. We're not impressed. You're the practice owner? ACT LIKE IT. Be a professional, a KIND professional. That also goes for the other male staff because my dog is now scared of males after Dr. Webb manhandled her for a surgery. How do you mishandle a puppy?! You made her scared of social interaction. I HAVE TO FIX THAT, NOT YOU. Both of you owe my family an apology. However, the other faculty is great. The vet tech Noel is an angel. Dr. Wiedmann is SUPER AMAZING. Kami and Amber - the front desk ladies are kind and understanding. So pick and choose who you see at Aspen. Aspen is a good place, they are very on top of their exams. It depends on who you see.

I think the Dr. Webb was fantastic! We also had a very good experience with our technician that day who's name I believe was Rachel. They were thorough, friendly, and willing to answer all questions. We had the opportunity to also meet their practice manager, Jamie (I think) who was incredibly welcoming. I thought alot of the fact this business had a brand new client and the head person took the time to introduce herself and make sure we knew who they were and that they were always there to help. The negative of this place and why my wife and I decided to give them 4 stars instead of 5 was their receptionist, Barb. She took our initial call to get a found baby rabbit in for an appointment and seemed helpful and concerned, however that completely changed when we came in for our appointment. She was cold, hurried, unfriendly, and even derogatory about my wife to other staff. When my wife arrived she wasn't greeted or even acknowledged for approx 3 minutes while Barb carried on a conversation with another employee. Frustrating for sure! She was then placed into an exam hurriedly and rudely told someone would be in when they could. She then, loudly enough my wife heard, told them she was there and she was rude so they needed to hurry and get in the room. Admittedly she was frustrated by the unfriendly greeting and lack of acknowledgement but still giving the place a chance! At the close of the appointment again Barb came in to check us out and made no attempt to be nice just wanted our payment and that is it. Not so much as have a nice day etc. We were supposed to schedule a recheck appointment but at that point my wife refused being unsure if we wanted to keep coming here. With time to cool off we realize that the majority of this staff was absolutely amazing and our opinion wouldn't be swayed by 1 bad apple. We do hope NOT to have to interact with Barb anymore though. We would recommend taking your pets here as it is clean, and most staff is welcoming and incredibly helpful and caring.

So happy I chose Aspen View to take care of my cat! I stopped in to get some information & the receptionist was plenty knowledgeable about what my concerns were (prescription diet, pet insurance, transferring from out of state). I was able to get an appointment at a convenient time for me and they even contacted my previous vets themselves to get his records. While there was a miscommunication with the time of my appointment, I was able to easily reschedule for another day. We got there about 15 minutes early and were able to get seen immediately! The vet assistant was great with my baby and easy to talk to. When we saw Dr. Schrepel, he provided so much valuable information about my cat’s health & the condition he previously suffered. You can tell how much he cares about these animals and knows what he’s talking about. I was debating getting some lab work done, but never once felt pressured one way or another with any choices I needed to make for my cat. The price they estimated for the tests was reasonable (although I opted not to get them) and the check-up appointment itself was $50. It feels great knowing my pet is in trustworthy hands so I wanted to leave a detailed review to ensure other pet owners that the other positive reviews are spot on!

I really appreciated Dr Schrepel's friendliness but more importantly his knowledge and handling of my fearful German Shepherd. Some vets are fearful of him and it increases his anxiety. This was the first time Gunner ever walked up to a Veterinarian and so quickly. Thank you for caring for my dogs especially after Tag's recent surgery.

I REALLY wanted to love this place since it’s right down the street from my house. The receptionist Tammy is absolutely wonderful & does an amazing job. I can’t thank her enough for working hard on getting carecredit to get it together hahah. The negative; we brought our corgi into the clinic she was basically dying. We spent 1k on medical bills with no answers. The vet didn’t want to prescribe her certain antibiotics until the blood results came back. The next day and a handful of tears later our corgi could not stand and was about to die. We rushed her to planned pethood because we couldn’t afford to take her back to this clinic. The dr simply looked at her medical records and found out she did indeed have puppy strangles. The blood results from aspen didn’t even come back with any results that would have helped us. We spent almost 1k for absolutely nothing. Fast forward to last month, I was in a rush and needed to get my Shepherd an allergy injection. The costs went up by $10 bucks. I was charged $150 for his injection. A few days ago I brought him to another clinic for the same exact injection, and he even weighed more than he did previously!!!! And guess what? I only paid $100. I’m definitely taking my business to this other clinic now due to these issues.

I would highly recommend taking your animals there, as the Veterinarians have many years of experience, and they are more than willing to reach out to specialists for additional support if your animal has a special circumstance.

This place is absolutely amazing. My dog was recently in a dog fight and I brought him to the ER. They stitched it up and it became extremely infected within 24 hrs. Then I had to bring him back 3 times and they didn’t help me because I couldn’t pay all that money that they were wanting. My original vet was booked for the day so my friend suggested i try her vet (Aspenview) and I’m so glad I did. They helped me financially and made me actually feel like my dog was the number one priority for once. The ER definitely made it seem like money was their only concern. Dr. Wiedmann was who treated my dog and I’m extremely greatful for her and the rest of the staff who helped in this situation. My dogs ear is already WAY better than when I brought him to the ER. Dr. Wiedmann Definitely knows what she’s doing. So please, if you get the chance, take your dogs here.

Staff goes above and beyond to help with financial issues, questions on care plans, and even when faced with “end of life care” for your family pets... Update: even though, the experience I shared before was tough, this is still my go-to vet. We received a postcard from them, signed from all staff, supporting us with Bandit's passing. We appreciate all the support and care. This is our regular vet, but I ended a little disappointed with the management of our dying senior dog. We took him because his health declined significantly. They recommended a super expensive diagnostic, although he fit the description of a dying dog. We had to schedule him with the HSPPR to be euthanized and the only record they provided was an ITU. The HSPPR confirmed he fit the description and that it was the best move. It got me thinking how far can we go to perpetuate the suffering of my dog to get some revenue.

The best vets in Colorado Springs. They have 3 vets & a bunch of vet techs on staff. The office manager keeps things running smooth & is great at answering questions & keeping the costumers happy. I wouldn't trust any other clinic with my 4 dogs 3 cats.

I have been seeing the doctors here for 20+ years. I always feel like they genuinely care about me and my pet family. They have become a part of my extended family. My dogs have been to the vet many times, often for less than ideal reasons, yet they continue to wag their tails and offer kisses to the entire staff. I can only extend my heart felt thanks to all the staff at Aspen View for the care and compassion they have offered me over the many years.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. These people REALLY love animals and they are terrific with people, too. My mom and dad took about 10 cats to them for care over the years and I've taken my three pets to them. And the great thing about this clinic is that they are reasonably priced, too, and don't try to push for more services than you can handle. Love these animal lovers!!!

First visit with our pets. The tech and vet were friendly and very patient with our nervous animals. The only drawback was the cost. I've had some vets give us discounts when we bring in more than one pet, and the original visit is only 35. With each visit costing 60, it'll have to be major for me to take them in.

We have been Aspen View Family for 6 years now and what an amazing experience. Our dog Chase had a rough life and required every kind of surgery and care one could imagine in his short 6 years of life. They treated us with respect, were tolerant of our questions and concerns, thought outside the box and always treated our animals with kindness and genuine love like my animals were their animals. In Chase's final moments we were unable to make it to Aspen View in time but were thinking of them with his last breath. They WERE and are our family and would not want to take our animals anywhere else for their care. I would and have recommended them to anyone who asks and will continue to spread the word. We have a new addition and have already introduced him to our Aspen View Family and just like immediate family, they all came out to greet him. 5 star rating from this family!

The reviews for this place don't lie, it's an excellent place with knowledgeable staff who genuinely care. I ran into a bit of an issue though regarding billing - apparently their system didn't charge my card when I paid after my visit, so they were trying to get hold of me the next day. They left a message on my phone, which I got, but then called me again while I was in the middle of working out. The lady apologized after I said I'd call back to pay later, but I got the feeling they were more desperate to get their payment than they were concerned with treating me like a valued customer. Maybe people skipping out of paying bills is a common occurrence around here or something, but I would never try to cheat the system like that, and they kind of made me feel like I was even though the payment issue wasn't even my fault. That aside though, it's a really good place and I will be bringing my cat back (and also making absolute sure my payment goes through before I leave).
