A few reasons for five stars: I love the size of classes and the campus. As far as the quality of the professors depends on the type of student your are. The FCS teachers are amazing. You can walk to class in less than 5 mins if you live on campus. Also everything is so close to the campus you can walk wherever you want for food and other things. Panther Shuttle is a good service to use if you don't have a car as well.

EIU has been my home away from home for the past two years. The staff and faculty go above and beyond to help students succeed and achieve their goals. I love size of the campus and all it has to offer. EIU is truly a great community to be a part of.

I had some of the best professors in this university. But I also had some Racist professors. One day I was humiliated and yelled at by one professor, I was forced to drop that class. Untill today, I do not know what I did wrong to dessrive this, maybe Its because I am from the wrong race in the wrong place. I would be carful of choosing professors in this university.

Great school for pursuing a degree in Education. EIU also has excellent resources for a school of its size. (many former students return to work there)

My wife and i have helped a young lady for years who was the daughter of a single mom that recently passed away. This girl was alone in the world and Eastern Illinois University and their staff have adopted her as their own. The V.P. of Student services Dr J Sipes personally walked her around campus making sure that every need was met and question answered. Hours were spent by so many i could not name them all and so many with tears in their eyes and a drive to help. if you are thinking of sending your child to a university i recommend strongly that you consider the unknown future and trust them to a school that will take care of them as if they are their own, you never know what the future brings. Eastern Illinois University is a great school but more important it is a loving family.

First time visiting this school to see my little brother and I can't believe how rude the security guards. My little brother wanted to see a concert, and the security guards treat everyone like a common criminal shoving you about to do a pat down. I have never felt so violated. I honestly can't believe how much that security guard has embarrassed me. He should be arrested his for his behavior. I really do the feel comfortable that my little brother is attending this school or the fact that my parents money is contributing to an establishment that would condone such behavior.

Eastern Illinois University truly is my home away from home. The faculty truly care about the students. You are not just an ID number. The faculty know your name, and they teach in small class sizes across the board. Plus campus is safe and very vibrant! Overall, it is a great university with a strong emphasis on small class sizes and close interactions with faculty members beginning your freshman year. I am so glad that I chose to attend EIU!

I went here for Illini Girls State during the summer. Nice campus, standard dorms. The food was surprisingly good, with lots of different dietary options. Don't eat the eggs.
