I am fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to complete my BS degree at Troy University. It took me many years to return to school. When I was looking for a university to further my education I asked many people what they recommended. I found a program that was exactly what I wanted and needed in eTroy, the Global Campus. I graduated this year on May 8,2015 and I will definitely be sending others in the Troy direction.

There are some good teachers here but the school finds ways to make your life miserable. They only care about profits and football.

Great school. You get out what you put in! Get involved and this is a special place to make great friendships that will last a lifetime. Only thing holding down this University is the city. The new Publix will be a great step in the right direction, and the square is slowly getting a breath of fresh air. A few more good chain restaurants and this place will have that college feel it deserves.

Lovely location for an event. Very friendly people to help you plan and very big campus that allows for good exercise.

I was here all week for a summer camp and I was throughly impressed. The grounds look excellent. Every building was clean. The staff went above and beyond for everything we needed.

Teachers don’t even try to teach, they care more about their own reputation than what you actually learn. Spend thousands of dollars on an education that will teach you nothing. Troy university is a safe haven for sex offenders as well, accepting students who are registered sex offenders and hiding any incidents that occur on campus. Horrible place I wish I never gave them a penny!

I loved my time at Troy University! It was a beautiful and safe campus with great diversity in the student body. The clubs and organizations were welcoming and always had a project going--which non-members were always welcome to participate in. Football is big in the south so game day was always a must. One of personal favorite experiences of my time at Troy was watching the band (we have an AMAZING band). My housing (Trojan Village) was fantastic! As with any college, it had its share of issues--parking was a big one--sometimes you would hear uncomfortable stories about the older dorms and every once an a while someone would get something gross at the dining hall but these few slips are to be expected anywhere. As far as academics my classes were small, personal, and most of my teachers were beyond great. I spent most of my degree classes with the same group of students so that was nice too--we bonded very well for post-college networking and friendships. I would choose Troy again over any other college in the nation--this Alma Mater is near and dear to my heart.

I was accepted to start in the Fall 2016 semester. Now I was a HUGE prospective student that had full intention to attend UAB, however, I was sold after I took a tour of their beautiful campus. Troy is very student-friendly to all students. It is also a very very VERY diverse university with a fairly large number of international students. So I'm saying all this to say, I'm writing this review before I start school and then I will go back after I start to write a review that actually means something.

I graduated from Troy University (then Troy State University) in 1979. I am extremely proud of Troy. I am especially indebted to the group of accounting professors that taught me everything I needed to know about accounting. Their dedication to our success is unequaled. I am proud to call myself a Trojan. Miguel Rivera Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army, Retired

After reading some of the harsh reviews on here, I felt compelled to comment. I am a current student at Troy and have been here for about a year and a half. Due to my home location, I take most of my classes at the Troy Dothan campus, and have to say that I love it. The class sizes are small enough so you have plenty of opportunity to talk with the instructors. The administration staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The grounds are well maintained. The selection of classes offered at the Dothan campus or online have been perfect. As for the Troy campus, it also is very well maintained. The library could definitely use an interior facelift, but the other buildings that I have been in have been beautifully designed and always spotless. I'm sorry that not everyone has been as fortunate as I have been with my experience, but I'm sure most of the satisfied students aren't going to take to the Internet to comment. The instructors, like all people, shouldn't be grouped as one. There will always be some that are better than others, and much of that is subjective. Troy may be a sleepy town without much going on, but it is a typical small southern place. I can't imagine what part of town someone is in to hear gunshots, but I would never call Troy a dangerous city. I have visited many public universities, and I have found Troy to be among the nicest. I would gladly recommend Troy to anyone looking for a quality education.

The operators WHO answer the 1800 number, have sent me to the wrong department every time I call. EVERY TIME.

I was attacked while attending this school in a boy's dorm that I was visiting in the daytime at that and when we went before the school board they moreso took his side, suspended him, and let him remain at this college, and then he was even allowed to join the Sigma Fraternity and they even know of his history and the viscous attack and they was shocked when I exposed to them that he attacked me. This boy would smile and smirk at me on the college campus as if he got away with murder so to say and they was supposed to have terminated him from the school BUT they chose not to. I left this college IMMEDIATELY and I tell everyone about how Troy's school board did me and let a criminal be free and No Justice was served at all for me. Then later on this same boy made breaking news while he's still attending Troy University because he did more criminal actions in Panama City Beach,Smh... And this is someone whom Troy University let remain in and at their college. And his mother was the Worse and his Father was nowhere in his life and his mother supported his bad, evil, and wicked behavior and she too was the victim of viscious attacks by men, so it Awed me that she was in agreement with her son's demonic behavior and ways, Smh .... I'll NEVER go back here ever, the worst experience of my life at college for my first time, Smh......

The transfer rep was suppose to be at coastal today. They decided to do a no call no show leaving several students who had to take off from work to speak with them, very upset. If this is the standard set by Troy, then they need a major overhaul. You do not leave people hanging like that when their job is already on the line. Pitiful excuse for an admissions department.

Tim Daniel

Scam artist. I followed my advisors advice and ended up with a 2500 dollar debt owed to the school. What a fine upstanding establishment.

So far, not a very good start for a transfer student. The tell you absolutely NOTHING on how things work or how to get started. Hoping it gets better. Right now if your wanting to transfer, don't waste your time. This place BEYOND frustrating.

As a former Troy student I found this institution very difficult to stay with. They discontinued the degree plan I was working towards, raised tuition after I left active duty and sent my financial refund to the wrong place. I believed in the reputation of Troy University. From Jan- Oct I was sorely disappointed.

Quality education; high morals; inexpensive costs; faculty and town that cares about its students.

I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology and Masters degree in Post-Secondary Education from Troy University. Although I am a native of Troy, and even played Friday night football games at their stadium (in high school at CHHS), they would not call me in for an interview. After 30 rejection letters, they would still never call me in, after they gave me two degrees. My mom is a teacher at Troy Elementary School, how much closer can you get? I wanted to be a representative for TU, but now I believe they do not support their own alumni.

I wish I could give this even less than a "poor - fair". Absolutely a shining example of the disgraceful state of education in America. I already have an associate degree on top of being at Troy for almost two years now and I am STILL a freshman because class availability is so non-existent that I can't move ahead in my studies because I can't get into necessary prerequisite courses. This recent semester, as a psychology major, there was only ONE course I could take that didn't require the prerequisite courses I can't get in and I get to register earlier than anyone else being in the "adaptive needs" programme. By noon on that day, it already was full. I ended up taking only two courses this semester, neither of which has anything to do with my major and is eating up valuable tuition money. Half of the tenured professors here shouldn't even be qualified to teach grade school. Imagine getting a paper back and you look through and count a total of -17 points then get an UNSCALLED grade of 4/15. WHAT!? Any professor actually worth a damn there is hosed constantly by administration. Massive egregious waste of money everywhere. They banned smoking on campus while trying to approve selling alcohol at sporting events! The tobacco ban is stupid too, they only did it to try and appear to be a private institution so they can justify charging such a grossly higher amount in tuition than any other public institution in the state of Alabama. There is absolutely no sense of logistics to be found anywhere around here either, the parking lots are designed in a way that makes it impossible to exit them because you can't see anyone coming, or requiring that you drive back out into the main roads just to go to the next lane of parking. While we're on that subject, be sure that you carry cash on you for anything you may need to do as well as any and all forms of identification and the kitchen sink because they're really bad about waiting until the last minute to announce when to do necessary administrative crap like buying your parking decal and then not putting up a sign to tell you where it is or to tell you it's cash only. Take a cattle catcher with you too if you go to the book store, it'll be the only way to move around as the staff likes to stand in the middle of the isles, in the way all the time. I know for a FACT that the chancellor "Dr." Hawkins (who only has an honorary doctorate) gave a student an award for something the student didn't do just so that he could get his face and name in the paper. There's a mansion on the campus for the chancellor that he never uses, yet they spend $300 bi-weekly on it for flowers and have maids clean it almost daily. Want to do art? Bring sandbags and emergency supplies, because Malone Hall (the art building) is continually flooded because the school won't do anything about it, though they keep saying they are. The bare minimum would be to have somebody go with a shovel to clear the drain and even that has not been done. I also read somewhere that the average annual salary here was over $101,000... if you consider the fact that at LEAST 90% of the staff makes far less than even $60,000 then who the hell is making SO much money that it increases the average that much (considering it is true). 0 class availability very poor teaching staff the good professors get screwed constantly so much other crap...

This past weekend I had the great pleasure of staying on the beautiful Troy Campus for the weekend for the State Special Olympic Games. Your campus is so well maintained, free of trash, having wonderful flower beds, and constant security patrol . The maintenance response was timely, affective and the young men who came to help were very helpful. I was very impressed with all whom I came in contact with and hope you will surely continue to open your doors to host this momentous occasion for our "Special Athletes" again and again!! Thank you very much! Diane Butler Director of Mobile Area Special Olympics

If you don't find any interesting on the carts outside of Troy University that ranges from $1-5, you can definitely find more of them downstairs! However majority of the ones downstairs are advance reading copies.Workers are always filling the carts outside with more books. Some hardcover books might be missing their cover and summary, which can be a real bummer because I like to read the summary and see if it interested me but you can always use the internet to find out the summary.
