My husband and I had such a great time doing the scenic river floatr ride. Pat are guide was helpful and fun. The driver and young lady at cashier desk were friendly too. We got to see some elk and a bison by the river which were told bison dont normally go that far to where we were. All and all it was a fun ride. You do get a little wet but really not too bad. It was well worth the trip to do. Want to try the half day rafting next time. Great company to work with. We also tried the ice cream there,graham cookie, and that was yummy too!

Keagan was a great guide! His level of professionalism set me at ease making me feel completely comfortable taking my young family rafting here. Being from Montana, the level of skill and training for which this particular raft company is known is second to none. The only downside is that the picture package we found to be a bit expensive. However, the affordability of the raft trip itself and enjoyment of being on the Yellowstone with my family more than makes up for that minor detail. Also it’s super close to the take in so you get on the water faster than the other companies in the area.

Do the overnight rafting trip!!! Thomas , Eric, Patrick, Pat, Chris and especially Morgan were exceptional. All were very accommodating, professional and personal. Provided a safe, action packed exciting experience. Loved sleeping in a teepee, delicious meals (even provided a special birthday cake) and all the royal treatment. Would absolutely recommend! Hope to do it again!

We had the BEST time! This is something you must do when visiting Yellowstone! Cole was our guide and he was GREAT. Everyone was so nice, told jokes and always had a smile. Our family did an overnight rafting trip with Wild West Rafting in June of 2019 and we had a fantastic outing!! Our tour guide Pat was incrdible- he had knowledge and understanding of everything that went on during our outing, from safety on our boat and others to discussing the legs of the trip and the river and water conditions. We had an awesome zebra painted boat and the water conditions were high and a bit fast- we had class 3 and 4 rapids during our decent. Pat was also a driver, firestarter, people herder, cook and other things during our adventure- he has a significant understanding of the area we played and stayed in and is easy to communicate with. We stayed in teepees overnight after a great steak dinner and smores by the campfire, in the am Pat prepared breakfast and there is nothing better than coffee outside overlooking the beauty of Montana. Also, one of our group is gluten free and the accommodation for the condition was made easy by our guide and Wild West. Our family all agreed that this event was the our favorite of our 7 days in the Yellowstone area. We are looking forward to another trip with them in the future when we return. I highly recommend the company and most especially Pat as a guide.

Warren (safety guy) and Zach (guide) did an amazing job providing exactly what we were looking for...a wild ride on the "small boat big water" excursion. Friendly, organized, and comical time! Tip them well, they earn EVERY penny!

Our guides Cole and Keeton gave us a great white water rafting ride and experience! It was myself (24) and 11 year old cousin. It was fun and great for kids! Cole and Keeton told us fun facts and history of what we passed on our ride. We also did the 1 hour horseback riding package and we loved the ride through the mountains. It was a beautiful and once in a lifetime experience. Wild West is an awesome local place with great and affordable prices. I recommend highly to anyone looking for an adventure!!

Fabulous day. Hayden our river guide provided us with entertaining jokes he claims he got from eating Laffy Taffy. He was professional, skilled, and very friendly. Only suggestion might be to lower the price of your pictures. $45.00 for the digital pics is a bit of a stretch. You would likely sell more in the $25-35 range. Overall the day was great and highly recommended Wild West River Rafting.

My wife and I along with our 3 kids, aged 11 to 15, could not have had a better time with Wild West Rafting! I highly recommend doing the full day tour. Other than my wife, none of us had any rafting experience. Don't let that deter you, the guides will get you well prepared before you hit some amazing rapids. Calvin was our guide for the day, he was funny, had great stories to tell along the way, but most of all he was a great teacher. He explained in detail what lied ahead down the river and what he needed us to do....we all felt like pros when we got off the river. The entire staff is extremely funny and very hard working, I can't say enough about the great experience we had. Thanks WWR!

We are a family with kids from age 9-19. Everyone had a blast! The guides were a lot of fun and knew what they were doing to keep us safe and give us a great trip! Cole was our guide and he helped us get a close up view of bald eagles, waterfalls, a pronghorn, and other wildlife. He knew fun facts about our surroundings, pointing out items of interest along the way, and kept us entertained while educating us. He always asked before we did things like surf, spin, or ride a rodeo. Of course we wanted to do it all and we always felt safe and had complete confidence in Cole’s instructions and ability. We recommend Cole and the Wild West Rafting company to anyone who wants to have fun and see beautiful Yellowstone from the river.

A group of four of us booked a 10 am 2-hour rafting trip due to time/travel limitations. We were pleased with the warm welcome at Wild West Rafting. Definitely recommend them for a rafting trip ... to be honest, I would have preferred a longer ride on the river. As time constraints prevented that, I had a blast on the 10 am two-hour trip. I strongly recommend them to you for a rafting trip before you enter Yellowstone. It is well worth the time and energy.

What a great day with wild west rafting. I took two daughters with me down an inflatable kayak for a really fun class 2 and 3 Whitewater experience. The section we went on is an 8 mile section of the Yellowstone River, just north of Yellowstone Park. Lots of fun wave trains to hit. Not a technical river, and no real bad consequences if you end up swimming. Really good first timer whitewater river. I'm a river guide on the ocoee river, and have a lot of Whitewater experience; thus I have high expectations also. My daughters and I had a great experience from start to finish. Thomas, actually one of the owners, went down with the 3 of us all in separate kayaks. He really made it a lot of fun. I was trying hard not to be overwhelming as a guide myself, but Thomas was great with my kids...and me! My daughters both asked if we could go again the next day! One of my daughters is now interested in getting a kayak for home for Whitewater. Thanks wild west, and thanks Thomas! Really appreciate you setting us up, and having a great time.

Fantastic, fun experience. As soon as we walked in the door, our rafting guide told us about the river water levels and what to expect. They had numerous wetsuits, booties, and PFDs in all sizes for us to wear in the cold water (we went mid-May). The gear was clean too as we saw them rotating our wetsuits & booties into cleaning solutions at the end of our trip and cycle out new ones. Before we went on the river, they went over safety tips, paddling techniques, commands, and what to do if we should fall overboard. Their direction gave me the greatest confidence. On the river, we were given clear direction on paddling, warned about big rapids, made up fun chants, and swapped jokes. These guys have a good family-friendly humor. The river was fun; the first part through the town of Gardiner was just like a loping rollercoaster: nothing but fun. The river mellowed after town with waves every 5-10 minutes after that. Our half-day trip was over before we knew it. The drive back was only 10 minutes where they blasted the heat for us and had our pictures waiting to peruse. Their boats are fun, safari patterns too. Ours was lime green with scales like a crocodile. I would highly recommend this company.

I went with a group of 6 with Cole as our guide for the full day trip and it was an amazing overall experience! All of the guides seemed to be having a blast, messing around with each other and the other boats. Cole was very knowledgeable about the area, told us a ton of interesting facts, and navigated us wonderfully down the river. Lunch was simple; turkey sandwiches, chips, cookies, watermelon, water, and lemonade. The sandwiches were good and the cookies were very obviously homemade and delicious! Better than expected when eating on an island in the middle of a river. Highly recommend Wild West!

I would definitely do the 5 hour trip, because time goes really fast! They provided a really filling and great meal. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. From start to finish, an outstanding day!! Very well run, very friendly and made everybody feel at ease. You can really tell they love what they’re doing! Our guide Finn was fantastic, very charming and very in tune with our group. We did the “all day trip” that included a brief picnic lunch, it was a long and leisurely ride down the Yellowstone. We never ran into any rapids that were more than just a few bumps! We even got out for a swim along the way. If you’re thinking of booking, don’t hesitate this is the group you want to be with!

Simply wow! This place takes you on rafting adventure tours on the yellow stone river. They cater to the safety of participants and have adequate equipment, which makes the rafting experience fun. I would surely recommend going on the 2 hour adventure tours. They also have half day or day long programs. Please check their website or call them as the instructors are really friendly and courteous.

We had a great experience on our Scenic Float! It was perfect for our family of 5. Our tour guide, Patrick, was awesome. My only complaint is that I booked through Trip Advisor, and all my communication came through them. Trip Advisor gave me a 1:00 pm start time, when in fact we should have arrived by 12:30 according to Wild West. Wild West did accommodate us, but the other families on our trip were left waiting and we felt a bit rushed. I feel like there should be better communication between trip advisor, Wild West and the customer. But everything about the float was great!

After spending a day in the park lined up with the other cars to see a deer or two... *yawn*... make sure to stop by Wild West Rafting for the most exciting part of your vacation! Our guide was fun, knowledgeable, entertaining and made sure we had a great trip downriver. They will make sure the very youngest white water adventurer to the most senior will have a great trip. Take advantage of the all day float (10-4) so you get to experience all of the great rapids on the river!! Thanks again for an amazing day!

Our guide was Boone. Her seemed a little more laud back than the other guides and was perfect for our group of 4. Part river guide, geologist, biologist, ornithologist, historian and comedian, he kept us entertained as he guided us 8 miles down the Yellowstone river. We worked hard but he worked harder. We loved our time on the river and will definitely go on another rafting trip with Wild West Rafting next time we're in Gardiner!

Our family booked the full-day rafting trip with Wild West Rafting in August 2019. We were a diverse group in age--6 people from 5 to 70--and we all came away delighted with the experience. We consider it very good value for the cost. Our guide, one of two Pats, was knowledgeable, relaxed, and thankfully patient with our two rowdy boys (ages 5 and 8), even letting them try the large oars in a calm stretch and sit up front. We saw a herd of pronghorns, many osprey and smaller birds, a marmot, and lots of interesting geology. We were late in the season, with the river at c. 3,000 cubic feet/second (against a typical max of 18,000 cfs), so the fastest areas weren't super fast, but they got us plenty wet and laughing and everyone had a good time. A few other points that may interest readers: --The lunch stop was an appropriate duration to dry us off in preparation for the afternoon journey, but not too long. The food was good and they can cater for dietary requirements. --There was busing to and from the river, so minimal walking (about 100 feet max elevation loss and less than that of gain). --Boat shoes and life vests were provided. --There was an opportunity to swim off the side of the raft for folks who were interested. --I recommend taking the loaner windbreaker even if it looks like a warm day and you don't wear it at first. You never know when clouds/wind may come up, and you'll be wet.

First time for our family of four whitewater rafting. Our fantastic guide was Cole, but all were nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. We did the all day trip and it was worth it! As others have said, they provide all you need. Safety was their first concern and that put this mom at ease. They were funny and shared interesting stories along the route. We would definitely do it again! So far, this was one of our favorite adventures in Yellowstone.

Rafting with Wild West was the highlight of our Yellowstone trip. Although it was close to the end of their season and the rapids were mild, the scenery was beautiful and it was a fun experience. We learned a lot about the area, saw wildlife and especially enjoyed spending time with our guide Thomas. He is a great guide and source of local information. Everyone is welcoming, friendly and experienced. We were a group of 6 including a few in their 20's a few in their 50's and my 80 year old father. We all loved it!

Just ok for me. We did the lazy river ride though...thought we would see more wildlife but was disappointed to find we were floating down the river outside of Yellowstone right along the highway. didn't see much and trip did not last as long as advertised, may be more fun to do a whitewater raft with them instead

Went rafting at Wild West on Aug. 28th, 2019. Cole was our guide and was awesome! Cole made the trip fun & provided great information about the area throughout the trip. We saw eagles, osprey & elk along the way. One of our favorite memories of the beautiful Yellowstone area! We also enjoyed Eddy the Wild West Rafting black lab pup! Be sure to tip your guide, they deserve it and often live in tents in order to be a guide!

Patrick was awesome! When we went, late summer, the water is just right for families, a few exciting parts, but not too much for little ones to ride along. nice scenery - mountains, ospreys, etc. Mild thrills for the family. Note: I'm sure it's colder and rougher in the spring.

Awesome trip! We did the full day & were on the water by 10 & out of our wet suits by 2:30. It was the perfect amount of time! Tom was the best guide - skillful, fun, and very reassuring. We got splashed but wet suits kept us warm. Would 10/10 recommend WWR to anyone visiting Yellowstone!

We had a wonderful time ! First we did a 1 hour horse trail ride and it was amazing! Then we did the scenic float down the river. It was everything I was expecting and more . All the guides are absolutely amazing and very good with kids! If or when we come back to Yellowstone we will be only Using wild west rafting! Hands down best in Yellowstone!

Great fun! Water is rougher now that the levels are higher, so get ready for a bumpy ride. Guides were all phenomenal and knew how to have a good time, making the experience all the better. In my opinion, an absolute must do if in the area.
