Here you have the feddbacks of people who purchased the services of Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge Admin Building And Visitor Contact Station (Tourist Attraction) in the state of Mississippi.
As of day this firm receives a score of 4.4 stars out of 5 and that rating is based on 657 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is quite high, and it's based on a very high number of reviews, so we may say that the rating is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to place evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Tourist Attraction belongs to the category of Nature preserve.
Got to learn about the Mississippi Sandhill Crane, and how they are trying to keep it from becoming extinct. Got to see two of them.
Awesome park for a quick break if you're traveling on I10. 1 mile hiking trail, picnic tables and kids activities.
This place was on fire literally. Control burn day the people were very friendly and informative. The trails were closed be definitely will be back for that.
Very nice area. No cranes when I visited. I will try again.
A nice experience. I think.
Always plenty to see and folks at the visitor center are very helpful and informative!
Nice hiking trail with signs identifying various plants. Area appears to be well managed. Blind behind visitors center available to watch cranes being reared.
Very good
Scenic, clean

Really nice nature walk
My husband and went here for the first time on Friday night. We were seated right away. The waitress was very nice our food came in a decent time. The gumbo is incredible. Everything we had was amazing. We will definitely be coming back.
I only walked the trail: it is free, very well maintained, and takes about half an hour if you go very slow and read all the signs. Saw no wildlife.
Beautyful
Beautiful
to the people that said there is nothing to see.... try getting out of your car and walk one of the trails. or stick to Disney
I'm glad we have a sanctuary where they are protected n cared for.. we should have more places like this to protect mother nature n her animals.. Thank you to all the staff n people involved in making sure this sanctuary still has a protection..

Beautiful!
Fun visit. Very educational. Staff were super friendly and taught the girl scout troop so much on our visit.
Great place. Had a small hiking trail that was fun about .75 miles long.
An interesting refuge doing great things to save these endangered birds. An informational film about the area & birds is a must see.
Nice walk, very clean pavilion and friendly hosts.
Friendly knowledgeable staff, good video and nice display. We love our migrating Sandhill Cranes (northern Illinois) and were interested to learn about this unique and endangered population of 100 SC individuals.
Cool...
A small park with very friendly staff but the was nothing to see. No cranes... but we couldn't even see a single bird not even a warbler. I will have to come back another time.
Fun place to learn about different trees and wildlife it's self.
Great views and wildlife a real treasure for Mississippi
no birds at that time. the hostess knew her area and offered places to visit and sites of interest
Beautiful educational center and great exhibits with nature trails.
Peaceful place.
The sight is really beautiful and gives one an appreciation of the extremely loss of our coastline. I learned how plastic is detrimental to the sea life as to humans. The plastic that is used in everything humans use is bad. It takes thousands of years to decompose. The fish eat the plastic(chemicals) we eat the fish(chemicals) and we are getting sick because of our disrespect for mother nature.
Amazing work being done here! Glad to see these cranes protected!
Ok
Stopped by on a wim and enjoyed it
Been coming here for decades, Mississippi natural beauty exemplified. Great picnic spot
Enjoyed the hell out it
Great for kids
We came during the government shutdown and was pleasantly surprised to find the gates open to the park. The building with exhibits was closed, but we were able to walk along the forest trail and look at the various fauna. Many of the plants along the trail were marked with a small plaque. There are a couple of benches you can sit and rest and enjoy the quietness of nature. Towards the backside of the trail is a larger sign explaining the use of the area back in the early 20th century. That history was interesting. The trail is a loop and since the Pascagoula was in flood stage, the end part of the trail was impassable. We had to doubleback a little and cut through the pines to get back to the parking lot. Overall, it is a peaceful, short trail that we enjoy visiting.
Great for walks camping, nature, canoeing, fishing, wildlife, and they even have events there. Great place to park your camper and it’s also close to beaches and casinos. Gives you a taste of country right inside the city limits. 10 min drive from Biloxi beach.
Myst see
Favorite place to stop and stretch my legs driving on I-10
Nice welcome center, great exhibits area has trails. I did get to observe the Sandhills. Not far from I-10.
I like this place. It's a Sandhill crane refuge. And they take good care of the Sandhill cranes. And they're Mississippi Sandhill cranes. So it's cool. 5 stars
Wonderful walking trails. Beautiful place.Great work these people are doing to save the Mississippi Sandhill Crane.
Its okay cute for kids but not much there.
Absolutely beautiful. The staff at the visitors center are friendly and helpful. Even on rainy days its beautiful, quiet, and peaceful
Here are 2 of 130 Mississippi cranes left and they started with only 30 birds these people do a great job.
2 hour tour in a van of the 1000+ acre refuge in Gautier, MS. Saw 13 of the 150 Cranes on the refuge. The tour was interesting and informative. There are nature trails to walk/hike also. Note: there is no exiting the van during the tour.
Beautiful place ! Very well keept. And quiet
Very nice area
We weren't lucky enough to see a sandhill crane but the Refuge is certainly worth visiting either way, beautiful plants every direction and a very interesting "Savannah"-like area make this an A+ stop for anyone in the surrounding area. I would recommend again and again.
Nice little nature walk.
Super cute rest stop area!
Beautiful park
I loved this little gemstone, but the employees don't seem to want to here the birds chirp or show any videos that they offer so unfortunately, my son was unable to watch those. Lovely place though. The bathrooms were clean. He sandhill crane display is there and they have alot of other birds on display there(taxidermy brids that is) I wanted to see the birds but I didnt get the incling that anyone working there wanted to help me see those beautiful birds. Anyways I put a video or two on here so people could see them. Who knows?! Maybe everyone there was having a bad day, right?!
Cool
Wrong time to see cranes. Nice walk thru the trail.
Beautiful area and friendly staff!
So peaceful and beautiful, love to be in nature

Relaxing
Excellent introduction to learning about sub-tropical savanna forest environment. Educational displays and a short video to present information to be observed on self guided hikes. Great place for children with a curiosity about nature. Friendly well informed employees help to make the best of your visi.
Just the nature beauty of the Forrest
Beautiful natural refuge that allows you to get up close and personal with nature. Great place to hike.
My Husband and I go Mississippi Sandhills Crane National Wildlife Refuge every year , we walk the trails and have gone on the ride to see the Sandhill Crane’s. It is such a nice place to watch for birds and animals native to the area. We enjoyed walking and felling the nature around us. It’s a great place to visit.
Really lovely to see and learn all about the conservation work that is happening to preserve the environment that allows the sandhill crane to survive. Just a short trail walk showing the different wild fauna and flora in the area with possible sightings of alligators, unfortunately none were seen on my visit only a very photogenic lizard :)
The Refuge was awesome! Beautiful scenery, informative interactive materials, and a knowledgeable staff. Please take the time to visit this vanishing natural wonder.
Was so much fun
Wonderful place.
Has a very nice tour, very clean makes a nice trip for the family
Close to work
Very good place for picnics, barbeque, fishing, fun with family and friends. Child friendly, restrooms and plenty of parking space
Beautiful!!
The Mississippi Sandhill Crane Refuge is one of the most interesting and informative places on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. An excellent tour is offered which includes wooded areas, savannahs, bayous and if lucky, a glimpse of the magnificent Sandhill Cranes. The friendly and knowledgeable guides point out many points of interest and everyone walks away with a new and healthy respect and love of nature. The tour is free, but donations are gladly accepted. I highly recommend a visit to both locals and tourists. Mississippi at her finest!!!
If if you're a wildlife Enthusiast then you will love this place.
Really nice hikes from this area
Mississippi Sandhill Crane NWR protects some of the last remaining wet pine savanna, habitat for the critically endangered Mississippi subspecies of sandhill crane. It's just a half mile of I-10 in Gautier, so a nice spot for a break from driving. I was driving across Mississippi towards Florida and stopped here for a break to stretch my legs. The visitor center was closed on Monday, so I just hiked the CL Dees Nature Trail. The 3/4 mile trail runs through a wet pine savanna and along Bayou Castille. Signs along the trail provide information about the savanna habitat. Didn't see any cranes, but there were pitcher plants and wildflowers along the trail. Great place to learn about cranes and the habitat they depend on to survive as well as a good spot for a break from driving on the interstate without going far out of the way.
Great & Hot
I'm a bit of a carnivorous plant junkie so the walk through around the Dees trail was great to get to see sundews (they're tiny but once you know what you're looking for they're everywhere!), tons of pitcher plants, and even a few butterwort. Sadly we did not see any of the namesake cranes, but apparently we were not there during the optimal viewing season anyway. The volunteers working there are incredibly kind and went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable. My two kids were doing the Jr ranger booklet and while out on the trail we lost track of time (sundew spotting!) and got back to the visitor center a bit after the 3pm closing time, but a kind volunteer was still there and stayed an additional 15 or so minutes to work through the last bit of the booklet with the kids. We stopped here on whim but I'm glad we did. And watch the video! I think it's always worth learning about the world around us and the creatures we share it with!
This is a great place to learn about Sandhill cranes! I got to see two cranes!
Beautiful Community
Very informative. The trails were nice just wish we had seen some cranes.
Awesome place!
Not very much to see but good information about wild life
Never been here.
Food had no flavor, and wasnt cooked fully.
This area is taken very well care of in order to preserve such an amazing species that I am glad to still have here in Mississippi.
Wonderful place to bring the kids a great learning experience mist definitely shocked me & we will definitely go back
Nice well kept in Mississippi. This refuge is actually quite lovely. Small in comparison to others but what it lacks, makes up for in scenery. Nice little loop takes you through wild flowers and a pitcher plant bog, various birds and a creek down on the other side of it. Get out and experience it through the various seasons. It's well worth it. Not only does it have pitcher plants but several other kinds of carnivorous plants reside here!
Love the beautiful park! Well kept.
Wow, great volunteers and what a nature trail! So many interesting plants labeled.
Very nice experience if you like nature
A great place to unwind
Wonderful people and great info.
B E A Utiful. Thank you to the staff for sharing this gem
Haven't been hiking in so long I was a lot of fun
Great hiking....but no cranes
I visited with my four year-old in early June. The museum is small but informative. She even enjoyed the little movie they had. The grounds were very well-kept. We're from Florida and our subspecies is one of our favorite local birds. This was a very fun adventure we had while in Mississippi. We will definitely be back!
dont know never been, dont know google keeps asking.
Beautiful place, indoor short movie, interactive area, short hikes & also tours.
I can't wait to go back in the spring. Several trails to enjoy. A nice and educational visitors center. Overall a gem.
Wonderful experience. Called ahead to reserve two seats for a free driving tour of the area to view the MS Sandhill Cranes, approx 2 hour tour. Our guide Tom was very informative and friendly. Sighted 17 Cranes, two bald eagles, and other various birds. Binoculars were provided for free. Highly recommend, but call ahead for scheduled tours!
The volunteers that were there were so very nice and knowledgeable. Great place to learn about The Mississippi Sandhill Crane. Clean restrooms. Trails are well maintained.
Saw pair of sand hill crane on nearby rock lane around the first corner
Interesting views of the area.
As long as you have something to drink, you're great. Took the stroller and went with a group of moms and everyone loved it! Great for all ages! Plenty of flowers and spots with water, so very picturesque. Would go again!
Beautiful and peaceful.
This is a fabulous, educational stop. We found the "Junior Refuge Manager Activity Booklet" online and printed it before our trip. Our six-year-old was able to learn a lot about the Sandhill Crane and the Refuge before we arrived. There is an informative movie and a learning center inside with lots of information on local wildlife and the habitat. The staff here are exceptional! There is also a 3/4 mile nature trail that is easy to walk. The diversity of plants is amazing and there are information signs and benches along the way. After the trail, one of the staff helped our daughter finish her book and awarded her a Junior Refuge Manager badge. There are clean restrooms, picnic areas, and a gift shop here.
Great job guys keep up the good work more people need to show an interest and maybe we can make a diffence
NICE
Kinda depressing looking. Alot of storm damage still laying around.
Helpful staff and beautiful spot...flower Haven this time!!
I've always had a love for nature
Beautiful area to drive through
I thought it was a chunk of land in woods with sand around it. Ugh
Very enjoyable, quiet and relaxing will go back again.
Great view
A Very nice park which unfortunately is still recovering from Katrina. The park has excellent picture perfect natural view.
Wonderful place to learn and take in nature's beauty... A long stay or a quick 20-minute rest stop off of the interstate. Worth a stop.
Nice scenic trail, lot of good information from displays in the center. The video was interesting and fun to watch.
Free fun afternoon. Picnic tables make for a nice lunch spot after a trail walk. The indoor area is great for kids. Chalk on the patio, color a picture, pictures and button info. Clean bathroom, with changing table. Going back again.
