Brandywine Arts Festival. Good times on the Brandywine.
Just a beautiful area and make sure you visit the zoo. Small but kids love it.
This place always put me in a great mood. It's so peaceful and calming there.
Small but super cute!
Beautiful park along the historic river for dily walks, picnics, etc.
It's beautiful, open, and close to home.
Nice big park where u can walk and sight see
Always a beautiful place to walk, ride bikes, sit and enjoy food and/or hold events. There is free parking along the river near Brandywine Zoo and there is always spaces available. Bring your dog and/or small kids and enjoy the paved walking oath that has plenty of shade. I highly recommend everybody to enjoy this park.
Love the zoo there and flowers... walking through the park is Beautiful..
I love this part it have improved in the years I've been going to this part since 12 years old
This place is beautiful and great for the outdoor inclined. They have tons of hiking trails and the scenery is amazing. I once did a 5 mile hike here and I was not disappointed. The trails are clearly marked and easy to follow. They also have a disc golf area! If you are wanting to get outside in Delaware, this is a great spot.
It is a cute though small zoo with some really adorable animals. The keepers are nice and knowledgeable. The shows are humorous and well thought out. Overall the only thing holding it back is the smaller size but they do as much as they can with what they have. If you're in the area and have $7 it is definitely worth coming for a couple of hours.
Come see the kangaroos, alligators and other summer guests before they head for winter quarters. The new goat pen is spacious and beautiful, and has a diverse group of goats ready to play. The veteran inhabitants were out this morning enjoying the cool temps. Expect a new lemur exhibit in 2020! It's not big or flashy, but the historic riverine park setting is delightful.
beautiful park. some of my favorite walks have taken place in this park.
I love this park, I've spent a lot of time at it and even trained for cross country. It's a very big park with lots to see and you can have a picnic there.
The zoo is a waste of money and rather boring for kids over 6 years old.But to walk near the water is beautiful.
Too hot to walk but will come back again.
Great place to stroll, reflect, take the family and have lunch.
I love the outdoors, and Brandywine Creek State Park has a lot to offer outdoorsy types. Wether your in PA, or DE this park is one of the best in the tri State area
Nice little park with small stream in the middle.
Very clean,Love the view, perfect to take pictures or vlog its just majestic...
My dog and I liked the off leash section on the other side of the river from the zoo.
Beautiful spot on nice day to relax.
The Brandywine Arts festival has an impressive display of local artists showcasing their talents. Beautiful hand crafted jewelry, clothing, woodworking, and eclectic art pieces. Various food vendors as well. Grab an extra bag of kettle corn to bring home. It's a festival staple.
It’s the worst zoo I ever been to, the number of the employees are way more than the animals, I just feel bad for the few animals are in there.
It was a good to visit there and see cherry blossoming
Great mill chase trail. Combines sun, shade, water and rocks
Great places to enjoy nature in the city
A picture is worth a thousand words. Nature at its best, come check us out. You will not be disappointed
Beautiful trees, always neat and clean. BBQ grills are permited.
Actually were able to see all animals. Park was clean and the staff were friendly
Really great place if you want to walk, relax or brush up on your photography skills. I've been going here since I was 3 yrs old and always had great memories of the Brandywine Zoo and feeding the ducks. Delaware's own smaller version of Central Park.
Beautiful venue for a an arts and crafts festival!
This place is a great spot to just go hang out with friends
Love it there! Clean grounds and very helpful and friendly staff
Place is always nice and clean
Absolutley love this park! Beautiful for a run, bike ride, or casual stroll. Hoping they fix the big fountain soon!
Very nice place. Not too crowded, free parking, beautiful park next to river.
Great Serene Tranquil Environment & Clean.
VERY PEACEFUL AND BEAUTIFUL
Peaceful, I sat there and watched 3 hours of Game of Thrones on my ipad in peace!
Love is very relaxing an good food
Stopped on our way to OC . Great place to spend an hour and to get some energy out of the kids only a few minutes off route !
Its nice to reconnect with nature. This is definitely the place to go for hikes or a stroll. If you have a dog there is ample places to go with your furry friends!
Nice place to walk around and relax, take in sights, etc. I enjoy the sound of the river. It's a shame to see the amount of trash we did but that's not the parks fault. The zoo is a nice touch for the area but keep in mind it's small, nothing too exciting there. The park is a nice surprise in such a built-up area. You're just steps from center city and houses but it doesn't feel like it when you're in the park.
Great riverside park right next to the tiny Brandywine Zoo. Worth the day trip with the kids. We checked out the Delaware Childrens museum afterwards but you could easily check out multiple cultural attractions nearby.
Great place to walk your dogs a great place for family and friends
Small zop great for small kids. Wish there were more exhibits though
Pretty nice and simple. Nothing big but it has different things on the the play ground
Very pretty and peaceful ducks swans herons great for dogs that like water next to nice small zoo
Super-chill well cared for animals, super-chill staff.
The highlight of Brandywine is definitely the amount of trails and paths to choose from if you're a jogger, dog-walker, etc. They're not always clearly marked, but it's not too difficult to find your way. The park also covers such a huge area that it doesn't feel crowded, but it's also not empty. There's a jungle gym for children as well. Overall, it's a nice area to walk around on a lazy day~
Love this park. Used to come here with my mom.
Paved trails are really nice and short enough to take younger children through. We brought our 4 year old and an umbrella stroller to push up the inclines. 4yo loved the rock walls, Bancroft mills and small waterfall. There are a few pretty good inclines throughout.
Very Nice
Nice park,views along river.walking trails
Peaceful & Beautiful
I moved to Wilmington Delaware because of Brandywine Park. Brandywine Park has beautiful backgrounds
Boo at the zoo was awsome extremely well run. Great for kids and adults. It's been about 50 year's since I was there last. It was so much fun.
Great place for a nature walk with the family/dogs. Highly recommended
Very beautiful my friend and I had a wonderful time walking the trails. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Great location for Family Pictures
Great place for family
Great place to go for a walk or a picnic with family.
Nice place
Brandywine Park is beautiful. It's an escape from the city inside the city. It is kid and pet friendly, and there is lots to do!
Great walking park. Beautiful Brandywine River and a canal sandwiches a short, but pleasnt path beneath bridges and towering sycamores.
Beautiful scenery. The river is hypnotic.
We went to the brandywine zoo, not the park. The zoo was great, most of the animals were out and visible. Good trip!
Small but so is cost. Love the wildness of this zoo. Very rustic. Staff has been super friendly. Petting zoo is nice too. Lively, small zoo. Perfect for small kids!!
Small Zoo but great for toddlers..
Great place to take a leisurely stroll or get a brisk walk or jog in. The scenery is beautiful especially in spring with the cherry blossom tree. The best time to go is early in the morning when it quiet and peaceful. It can get crowded on nice days but not to the point where its annoying. They offer a nice zoo in the park that has very reasonable price.
We had a great time in the park
Lovely park for a stroll or run
It was a lovely park with trees and water. The walk along the river calms the soul.
This is a very beautiful, relaxing park! It has many walking trails with plenty of spots to rest and take in the view. I go here often just to relax! The kids enjoy the sights too but we didn't find a play area or anything. It didn't take away from the fun they had watching the swans and ducks play.
Took the road bike, those hills are not joke!! I need more training lol beautiful with all the cherry blossoms in bloom. I had never been before.
Love the serenity
Very nice here
Love to get my walk on with Bae.
Very beautiful and scenic, good for long walks and dog walking.
Very clean and fine zoo, just don't go expecting to spend the whole day. Instead make it part of a larger outdoor day as part of the Brandywine area. Super friendly staff and great setting make up for it's small stature. Just wish they kept the otters, but the new goat area is very nice and clean.
So much history to explore. Old fair ground ruins from 1800s with plaques and old time pictures to help you visualize what it looked like.
One of my all time favorite places to run and relax. An awesome place for a family gathering. One thing though, some of the dog owners are a bit rude.
Tale the trail close to the zoo and you will definitely get a workout. The rest is flats ensconced with foliage and a lovely rise garden to enjoy. Geese crossing so watch out for droppings. Picnic tables, fishing and a man made bridge. I do not believe the water is clean enough to eat the fish.No fee to enter this particular park. There is a small zoo which has a nominal fee. Most lovely in Spring.Family friendly. No public restrooms only porta potties. I find those unclean. Also, carry in carry out policy. Dog friendly, too.Free parking.
We go every year for Boo At The Zoo. Families dress up in their Halloween costumes, trick-or-treat with local vendors and get to see animals. Very nice time for the kids.
Great place for morning walk!
Good place to hang out picnic with family, good shade all over ,not really a good place for swimming cuz the water is so dark and coming from different sources
Peaceful place to enjoy the outdoors.
A beautiful park with paved trails along both sides of the river and several foot bridges connecting them.
My friend needed me & he took me here...just gorgeous
This place is great for walking, family activities and PEACEFULNESS!"
If you grew up around the Brandywine Hundred, you were lucky to enjoy the benefits of the Valley.
Awesome memorial and park. I will be back on next trip.
Brandywine is the crown jewel of Delaware State Parks. Absolutely gorgeous landscape unique to northern Delaware.
A quiet place to relax in the heart of the city. I have been coming here for since I was child and I'm still in awe of the beauty this park possesses.
I love to enjoy the outdoors in listen to the flow of the water
Nice place to walk or run around
Still a nice place to take kids and relax :)
Always a nice place to walk or just relax
It's always relaxing here
Horrible. Wish I could give it NO stars. I paid $24 for my family and I to see four maybe five animals. If you want to see a REAL zoo for FREE come to New Jersey and go to the Cape May Zoo. Way better.
Right in the middle of Wilmington is a beautiful park along Brandywine Creek. You can literally walk right into another park too, if you walk far enough. A wonderful place to spend an afternoon.
Beautiful and clean. Very relaxing
AWESOME Walking Trails :-)
My favorite park in Delaware to walk by the water
We walk along the river regularly...love it. There are several small bridges as well as large ones so you can walk a circle on both sides. Its an incredible tree filled park in the middle of an urban neighborhood.
This place is gorgeous it's perfect for people of any age and also a great place to meditate because of the peaceful water sound
Nice little outing for the kids
I was there for a school field trip to have lunch. My students enjoyed being there in nature.
SO NICE AND CALMING THERE 5/5
I love just coming and sitting by the water!! So relaxing!!!
A scenic park with ample shade from the surrounding mature trees and a beautiful view of the Brandywine Creek. The vibrant cherry blossom trees are stunning in the springtime! A cute rose garden is nearby as well as views of some small waterfall type areas in the creek. Plus, there are bridges within the park that are architecturally interesting. A great park for pictures as there’s plenty of great photo opportunities! The park is also within very close walking distance to the Brandywine Zoo for a fun day trip with a picnic lunch.
Zoo was a bit disappointing a lot of birds no big animals. The bald eagles are beautiful
Nice place to walk around , plus there are ducks
It was so relaxing
Nice park alongside the water. But note that if you have a stroller or otherwise can't take stairs it can be hard to cross from side to side, as most of the bridges do not have ramp access. Plenty of picnic tables and benches, as well as free parking. Zoo is located in the park as well.
Nice playground for the kids and beautiful setting
This was my 1st time visiting and I must admit I was in awe of the beauty of the park and how much ground can be covered. The many different paths that I will learn in the near future made me curious to explore the park as a regular. Although there's construction going on in different areas of the park, it's still a beautiful place to leisurely walk, people watch, enjoy the water and meet some furry friends along the way. I gave 4 stars because the construction caused you to walk in the street in certain parts which made it quite unsafe as the cars weren't trying to slow down.
I haven't actually visited Brandywine Park since the late Spring season. It is a beautiful place for walking n having impromptu outdoor meals. I believe it is under renovation at this time though.
The zoo is small but good for a quick walk through. Great for small children, has a petting area with goats.
Park at the Brandywine zoo parking. Interesting things to see and lots of photo ready locations. Can go around both sides of the river starting at the white bridge and going over the cable bridge.
Grew up in this area. Love being here..
Nice this time of the year
Our family has been to many zoos around the country. This was the smallest zoo we've been to. The staff was friendly. They have a nice river otter exhibit and red panda exhibit. They have some animal "talks", which I always enjoy. They are two hours apart and there's not enough to see and do for two hours until the next one. You can take your time and be through the exhibits and gift shop in an hour or less. There gift shop was well stocked and the prices were probably a little better than average. This is a zoo you may visit if you are close by any way. If you are driving a distance select the Cape May zoo in NJ, the Philadelphia zoo, or the National zoo near DC. If you are coming from the West near Harrisburg go north to Lake Tobias in Halifax, and take the safari ride and feed the animals from the bus. They also have a great petting zoo, where you can feed the animals and a small but very nice reptile house.
Nice family park. Great trail and nicely kept grounds. The Rose Garden is beautiful. The little zoo is cute, a bit run down, but very cute. Spring is the perfect time to visit.
Love it but where's all the trash cans
Quiet and pleasant.
Various parking areas to hike from. Will explore more soon. Can hike along the river. Scenic & historic area for those interested in the historic sites & museums along the Delaware- Pennsylvania border.
The park is the country right in the middle of the city. There are nesting geese, fishing great blue herons and cormorants plus other wildlife. There is a beautiful rose garden, a zoo and connections to green paths that go around to the county parks. Wonderful place!
Good little road trip stop.
Awesome place to hang out.
First time there, came for zoo, which is nice little zoo, reasonably priced. Lot of people jogging, would have stopped at rose garden but G-daughter was tired, good impression for 1st time
The weather was great thank the lord no humidity nice breeze had a gd time
Great place to be, very clean and a nice atmosphere, always active.
The main vein of water way through our city. The Brandywine River. You can easily forget that you're smack dab in the heart of the concrete jungle.
Nice walk but lots of construction throughout the park for months now.
I love this park! Such a jam in the middle of Wilmington.
Peaceful and it's me and nature!
It is one of the most beautiful spots! I love feeding the geese and ducks, sitting on the rocks, and putting my feet in the warer.
Pace and quiet
Excellent Experience
I love to jog along the race. Peaceful, with some find memories of people I once knew.
Took some awesome pictures here after a wedding around the waterfall, rose garden, and vines.
Its nice,if u wanna run or just enjoy being outside
Pleasant, shady area for walking. Some construction at the moment.
This place was epic! Animals were great. Great for kids.
A calm and relaxing place to hang out or for family fun time.
Great little park closeby, always beautiful!
Great place to take the kids. A wide variety of animals from condors, walibees, and porcupines. They have a petting area with goats. It's a small place but they have plans on expanding. It was very clean when I went and they have a gift shop and a place where you can get lunch. You won't be disappointed.
A great place to relax and enjoy yourself...nature at it's finest, deer hiding within the tree's, birds of all species flying and swimming about and you may even see a beaver or two...my dog love's jumping in the water to cool down or fetch a stick...I'd recommend everyone to experience what Brandywine Creek State Park has to offer.
If you work downtown Great place to relax!
Great fun for kids and adults. Gets you back to nature.
Nice park but occasionally I would question my safety.
Nice quick zoo. All animals accounted for and visible. Two beautiful eagles worth through trip alone.
Nothing else to do? Go and chill. Maybe eat lunch. Kids love it too. The ZOO is across the road if you want to visit. Easy parking by the water.
a true jewel. a pack it in pack it out park.
