I had a tire blow out on a very busy Friday with plans to go camping for my birthday so I was pretty upset when I called them looking for a new tire. Even though they were super busy they fit me right in and got me back on the road in under an hour after finding me a full set of replacement tires for next to nothing. Very grateful for their service! They do seek a bit gruff on the phone but in person were very helpful.

I've been going to Alaska Tire Service for a few years. I find them to be professional, corteous, and fast. They have a small lobby area that makes waiting comfortable with TV to watch or magazines to read. For one of my vehicles, I have very low profiles tires that others have had trouble mounting tires too - never had a problem here. I'll keep going back.

So as I am still on hold with ATS , and they finally answered after being on hold for 15 minutes . They only schedule a day in advance because I guess a extra day or even a week in advance is to complicated for them to understand . And most importantly ; if you want to waste your time and money go to ATS They charge more and their service is a joke I recommend knink tire on KGB . Much Better service and will at least answer their freaking phones ! Oh and better prices at Knink tire

I just literally called them now and i was put on hold and then after a few minutes asked me if i was helped already. I said no. Then i gave them my tires specs and the guy on the phone didnt even know what they were, second, they were insisting that they dont have my size after a fee minutes in the conversation. I usually do my tires by myself but this was MUCH easier. Got in at 12:20 and left by 12:40. Full mount and balance. I didn't have cash for a tip but I am bringing my other vehicle in tomorrow and will not forget to give Dustin and Damian a tip for the quality and quick service. Not to mention the price is unbeatable from everywhere else I found in anchorage. I highly suggest this place for seasonal tire changes. Thank you everyone at Alaska Tire Service, I genuinely appreciate the quality service I received today and I will most definitely be going back next season.

Haven't price shopped anywhere, but they seem reasonable to me. I bought winter tires there for my truck - they had them in stock when I wanted them. Last year the computer must have glitched and not balanced my tired correctly, but that was just once out of six or 7 times I've been there. Super quick AND prompt when you have an appointment. I really, really appreciate their promptness.

I came in with an appointment during busy tire change over season, to switch to winter tires. I ended up posting an unfavorable review based upon customer service received. An owner personally called me based on the review to get my feedback and apologize. They work with a very seasonal employee base and a sudden increase in operations can have its difficulties. I would not recommend going to Alaska Tire Service on 88th ave. I called 2 times within a week to ask for tires to buy. I called a day ahead to make an appointment to get a set of new tires. The day before I asked for information about tires and I made sure they had the ones I wanted and they said yes they have them in stock. The same day I made an appointment a day in advance, and I showed up at my appointment. Next thing you know the front desk lady I spoke on the phone and checked in at the same time told me they don't have the tires here. I told them I called you and confirm they had new tires to put on my car. She said I am sorry it's my fault, and said to me we can send driver to warehouse and pick them up if you want to wait or we can reschedule you for tomorrow. The front desk lady or ladies are very fat, lazy, rude, and very unprofessional just sitting around doing nothing but making mistakes. At that time I already had the car parked in garage and they started to work on taking the tires off so I don't have to wait that long when the new tires arrive. I asked what they do besides put news tires and specify if they balance and rotate tires and they said of course we do all that. The worker said if you want you can take them home and put them on yourself, and I said I wouldn't be here if I wanted new tires so they can do it. Plus the workers are very rude, aggressive, stupid looking, and like they know it all. 10 minutes later the same front desk lady told me that the worker arrived at the warehouse and didn't have no key to open doors, so I apologize we cannot fix your car tires this evening, would you like to reschedule. All that time what they did was all just waste of my time, I wouldn't go there if I was you. I would recommend any other tire shops around Anchorage that is more passoinate for customers.

Got caught with two very flat tires four thousand miles from home. Needed new rubber, called around, found that ATS had the best prices and good reviews and scheduled an appointment. I was brought right in at my appointment time, invited to explain my situation, and they were prompt and accommodating - flawless service. On top of that, however, I had a tire replacement policy through Toyota which can add extra hassle. ATS talked to them and provided all the information they needed, and when there was a price dispute (because everything is more expensive in Alaska) they worked with me for close to an hour until Toyota agreed to provide full reimbursement. ATS was going to get paid either way, so their exceptional assistance was purely for my own sake. I very much appreciated their patience and offered assistance. Thanks guys! I'm happy with how everything worked out!

Sometimes this is the only place to get certain tires. I was getting oversized mud tires put on a Cherokee and knew there would be fitment issues. Their shop crew test fit a tire for me! Any other shop would probably laugh at you when asking for test fit. When one didn't fit, they let me borrow some hand tools to "make it fit" outside their shop (understandably they wouldn't modify customer's vehicle to fit a non-standard size tire - liability issue). Woman at the front desk was very nice and patient while I took a lot of time deciding on a tire. Looking forward to buying tires from this place again.

My son took his flat in to be repaired, they did not do their due diligence, when they put the tire back on his car after he paid, his tire went flat less than a block away, they charged him to put his spare back on, when we called them after he got home, they were argumentative and blamed my son saying he had to have hit a pit hole and caused damage in that block of driving (he didn't)...my family, and friends will never go there again. I've been in customer service my whole life...this is not how you should treat customers if you want repeat business. Horrible experience!!!

I am a new customer and I was buying new winter tires from them. I got to my appointment early. I had no problem waiting until my appointment time. After 45 minutes had passed after my scheduled time, I finally went to the front desk to ask how long until I could get my tires done. They forgot to process any of my paperwork and I was not included in the long line to get my tires changed over. I was essentially waiting there for nothing. I did not get an apology but they did immediately get my car in the bay. The shop guys were nice and I understand mistakes can happen at the front desk. I was still irritated cause I ended up being the last customer out of the shop.

Not really an "appointment". I showed up before my scheduled time and apparently walk-ins had taken my spot and it would be a significant wait. Their lobby is small with limited parking, so I was looking at needed to stand there for an hour. If they are not going to really honor appointments there are lots of places in town to do walk-ins where at least you can sit down and wait. I was there 5 mins early and told it was going to be "at least" 20 mins before they could even start. Meanwhile no where to park or sit, pandemonium in the office. No question that my spot was given away to a walk-in.

This is the last time I will ever go to Alaska Tire Service. I had an appointment for 4:30 and had arrived by 4:18 hoping my car would be seen on time. Apparently that was too much to ask. They did not see my car till 4:52 and it was a simply 4 bolt on tire change which didn't proceed to finish till about 5:20. 30 minute service is not true at all. Highly dissatisfied seeing as though I had an appointment and even arrived early.

Wonderful service! Very helpful. I went in to the Dimond location with a flat tire an hour before closing time. The tire couldn't be repaired, but Doug located a used, reasonably priced tire at one of their other locations. It was delivered and mounted in a very short amount of time.

I love this place. It's my go-to for switching out summer and winter tires. Come here and expect to wait while your car is worked on.. that's the deal at this location. In the last year or so I they opened a second waiting area (a little bit nicer) across the street. I'm happy with their prices and they don't surprise you with an extra charge for tire pressure monitoring systems. I decided to buy my summer tires here and I'm glad I did. Somehow I was forward-thinking enough to also buy the optional insurance (<$10/tire for mine), which today saved me $300 on two new tires. Either someone has it out for me, or it's how I drive. In any case, I'm relieved! Nice people (some I recognize season after season), an efficient operation, good prices. I'm a happy customer.

They mounted my winter tires using weights on the inside of the rim. Well, come spring I swap out to my summer tires to find one of the weights they mounted has come loose due to hitting the caliper. I called them to ask it they would remount it in a better position and was informed by a gentleman there they would for a charge. I explained, I just was asking them to fix what had been a mistake. He informed me that I only had two months from when they mounted it to do that. Hmmmm, there plenty of other shops that stand behind their work. If customer support is important, I'd skip this place. I read below that they claim due to time and milage they would have to rebalance. Well, first, I had more than one set of tires mounted and the vehicle I am referring too has so little miles put on it that a rebalance would not be needed. Bottom line is whether a company is going to care enough and make it right...or...say "not our policy".

Called on Monday to try and set up to get my tires changed over told that they don’t take appointments more than 24 hours in advance Monday and Tuesday were already booked out to call tomorrow morning at 8 o’clock and ATS will now be taking appointments for Wednesday from 7:55 AM to 845 I had called 305 times not a single phone call went through I showed up at 8:50 and they told me that they were already booked out for Wednesday and that they wouldn’t set me up an appointment for Thursday How you can call 305 times and not one call go through because their phone is busy but they can get their bookings completely full in that time is ridiculous and then not even show any consideration for the fact that you had attempted and tried and called nonstop and then blow you off I will no longer use their service ever again they’ve lost a customer for life

Excellent customer service and as fast as they promised over the phone (30-45 min) You typically drive your car into their bays on your own but when they saw I had a newborn, they were super accommodating, driving my van for me and returning it parked close to their front door. The waiting area was packed (u can't leave your vehicle with them, you have to wait) so I thought it would be longer but they sped through the line amazingly efficiently. Thanks!

Got my summer/winter tires changed over today, only took them 30 minutes to do the whole process which blew me away (seriously, I've waited 3+ hours at other businesses before). The guy who did my tires (Thomas? Thompson? soft-spoken guy with curly black hair) was super nice and helpful. Their appointment system is also really well done. I will say that their tire changeover is a bit pricier, but I will still use them in the future.

Flat tires will only be visually looked at without an appointment, (not sure what good that does) and you must make one a day in advance, although they don’t have any appointments available to make. If you have an emergency tire situation DO NOT COME HERE! I know, I know there website and listing doesn’t say by appointment only, but that’s the case. Do not drive 20 minutes across town and show up thinking they will Take you as a walk in. Even though the reviews say they take walk ins. The front desk lady was rude and insulting. Ummm, I can have someone visually look at your tire. But that’s all we can do!!! Excuse me? No, I don’t need you to have a tech walk out to my truck and stare at my tire, but thanks.

Wow talk about amazing service! I am usually a little nervous about having vehicle work of any kind done but my boss told me to come here because of the great service he's received. He was spot on and I loved my visit. The staff answered all of my questions politely, I was quoted up front with no extra fees, and done in 30 minutes. Even the guys working on the cars are friendly and they all said good afternoon as I walked inside (a first for me)! I am glad to have brought my business here and will recommend this shop to all of my friends.

Apparently they don't inspect tires when they change them over, even though they're a tire and place and that's kind of their job. I bought brand new studed tires this past January, took my all seasons off bagged up and went on my merry way. Fast forward to summer change over....I took my bagged tires out of the shed, headed to my appointment a few minutes later they call me out to the garage. "Two of your tires are bad, and we cannot put them on." I'm a little confused because they had taken the same tires off 3 months prior and never said a word. I went home, looked at the invoice, was never noted either. I called and relayed my dissatisfaction at the fact that they should have been inspected at that point and noted or something should have been said, especially with being as bad as they apparently were. I had just bought the car and upon quick outside inspection they looked ok when they were on the car. I was just told well I'm sorry, but it happens. We don't always inspect the tires we take off. So here I am a week before changeover deadline having to come up with money for brand new tires I wasn't expecting to have to purchase. Oh, and two of my tires were good and I asked for pricing on two new ones, but I'm told I have to purchase 4 brand new matching tires.

Good customer service. FYI inquire before you do a tire change over, I was hit with a $200.00 change over for have "low profile" tires. I watched them change the tires over and it didn't seem like they did anything different, used the same machine (non-touchless), and handled with about the same care as the other wheels and tires being done in the shop.

Was going to get brand new tires before my drive to Seward. But comes to find out I still had a year left in my tires & all they had to do was take out my studs. Save a lot of money due to they're honesty. Definitely going back this fall to put studs back in my tires.
