I am new to Kodiak and was not sure where to go to do some repairs on my vehicle. I went to Alaska Brake And Tire on Mill Bay Road just past Walmart. I was very surprised how honest they were, and they not only fixed what I needed fixed they saw I had a separate break issue with my vehicle that was causing the breaks to make noise and they fixed that and did not even charge me for it. Its always hard to find a honest and reliable mechanic and someone that will treat you fair at the same time. I can honestly say that Alaska Brake & Tire are very honest, reliable, friendly and professional and treated me very fair. They now have all my future business if I need my vehicle fixed again. Thank You Alaska Brake & Tire!!!!!

So back in November of 2017, my husband and I took our Jeep to get fixed at Alaska brake and tires. We thought we’d get great service here due to the front end personnel being very nice and professional. This was a HUGE mistake!! After having our car for 2 months plus we had several issues after the so called repair! When we first took our vehicle in the misdiagnosed the issue! We paid $350.00 to get wheel bearings on the FRONT fixed when the issue and humming was coming from the rear! Shortly after the “repair” to the rear differential we had issues with the speedometer not working, front brakes were not operating properly, (took it in and the said it needed “bleeding”)and to top it off now we are having issues with differential that was supposed to have been worked on! After paying nearly $1,800.00 you would expect not to have issues with that for a significant amount of time! Here we are less than a year later with issues with the same thing, so I decided to call them to see if there might be something they can help us with. So i call and speak with one of the owners(she was nice and trying to help) said she would call to see if there’s a warranty on the part (due to us having moved out of state, it would be difficult to have them work on the car again) but that she would have a mechanic call me back. So Jeremy calls me back and I explain what I had questions about, but not before he cuts me off while explaining to him. Tells me the part was from a junk yard! (Which we didn’t know) insisted that we were explained that and was extremely rude, hung up on me because I said he’s calling me and my husband a lair! I call him back and he continues to not me talk and insists that it common to have issues with this so soon! Bottom line I would never go back to this place all because of this “owner/ mechanic”! I was trying to be reasonable with him explaining my frustration with the issue and he had not one ounce of professionalism or customer satisfaction! So I said I would never take my vehicle to that shop ever again! Would you after this experience and treatment!?!

We have had several small repairs and lots of tire changes at the shop. They are always accommodating for last minute emergencies and have a great staff. Prices are reasonable.
