REVIEWS OF Elm Street Tattoo IN Texas

Me and my one of my friends got our first tattoos done by josh he was super nice and made sure we liked or tattoos before doing anything I would recommend going here the art is worth the price even the guy in the front was super helpful coming back here next month to get more done

Shalon James

The place is located in a really cool area on Elm street and the vibe inside is laid back, old-skool, tattoo parlour kitsch. I was slightly concerned about all the dust gathered on the knick-knacks and decorations on the shelves. Otherwise, the tattoo areas were sterile. The parlor itself is relatively small, not a large waiting area for customers waiting to get in. If you want to just do a walk-in, I suggest getting there right after they open. They get busier, the later it gets. Setting up an appointment will get you in and out faster.

Mariah Mariano

Amazing. Loved the ink that my dad and I got for his birthday!!

Justin Riggs

The artists here are narcissistic. Beware. Many better artists and with better attitudes in DFW. The 4+ rating they have comes from the drunk patrons that visit the shop past midnight after too many libations. Beware if you are serious about your tattoo and it's not a late night drunken decision.

Cimone Jackson

It’s no longer there. If there’s a new shop, pls change the address.

Annie

Came in for a simple tat.... Had to wait a couple hours but didn't mind at all (they were slammed and short staffed). Everyone made me feel right at home and I felt they would get me In as soon as they could. They let me leave and go walk …

Jordan Adams

Did a walk in tattoo on Tuesday and Matt Van Cura was my tattooist. He did nothing less than a fantastic job. You can tell he really genuniely cares about the art he puts on people. Dedicated and a true craftsman. 5 stars for both him and the shop. I will be scheduling with him in the future.

Shannon Beltran

Great artist.. worth your time and money if you like great body art

Matthew Jones

Took my wife for "get what you get" tattoos for her birthday... Awesome experience! Matt was an excellent artist and the designs made for awesome 100$ tattoos! We'll definitely be doing this again

Grace Owens

I couldn’t add a photo to this comment so i put it with the rest of the photos. My tattoo is of an “X” with a cactus and tree. Yeah, it was $150 and the person they had tattoo me was pretty inexperienced and basically went at my arm like a 3 year old with a crayon. I should have looked at her work. I’m sure it’s fine if you go to someone good, but I’m back in a small town in Georgia where they can’t believe I got this at Elm St.

quality tattoos!! don't go anywhere else!

I just want to say I haven't even set foot in this place and already I am disappointed. I went online to submit a picture of what I wanted, asked for a draw up and fees to get this done and noone has reached out to me. It's been a week already. At least if you are busy, respond acknowledging you received my email. I guess business is that good, so I will take my $ elsewhere.

Adrian Mendoza

Don’t fall for the hype, this place is rude/expensive and dirty.

Lary Parker

A messy dirty shop. Has not been cleaned sense it opened.

Jonathan Streeter

Great artist. Was really understanding about first tattoo and took great care of me. Will be coming back for more.

Anthony McGee

Friendly folks and a laid back environment.. Good work too..

Casey Dawson

Do not go see James unless you want to receive sub-standard service and a terrible tattoo. Having several tattoo, I went in for a walk-in on a Saturday afternoon expecting to have a great experience from such a well known shop with folks who have received great work from Elm Street. James said multiple times that "he didn't want to be doing this forever" or that he was "ready to go". He barely wanted to engage and everything that came out of his mouth was negative. That tattoo, a small heart on the finger, is complete garbage. The line work is crooked, the red is inconsistently filled in and, worst of all, it's off center - which he told me was only because of the area swelling a bit. I won't soon be back and I hope the shop takes a look into his disenchantment with his profession and the output he's performing. It's just sad to have such a simple thing be done incorrectly by a professional.

Alien Spore

Great place for custom work. And for some flashes. (60 dollar 10yrold ZERO skateboards tattoo.)

GOD THE DEVINE

Cool place cool dudes felt rushed.

albusflos

Not a place for me

Scott Rosing

These folks think they walk on water. I have been tattooed by good friends who work from Cali to ATL and I have never seen people act like these folks. I wanted a simple one letter tattoo on my finger and they wanted $100. Ok if it's really good, I understand. But when I got in no one wanted to help me and when I had a few fonts I wanted to choose they kept trying to push an Anheiser Bush A on me, which I did NOT want. All of the artists looked stoned and drunk and had no interest in what they were doing. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. First or last tattoo. Guess I will just buy a tattoo machine and do the work myself, cause these folks are a joke. The guy who owns this place should be ashamed. I cannot express how disappointed I am.

Went to the walk in/customer appreciation day, and fulfilled a dream by Having Oliver Peck tattoo me. Great Experience

Aaron Kirkpatrick

Josh was awesome, I made an appointment with him a few weeks prior and he added everything I wanted into my tattoo

Trey Smith

One of the cooles shops I have ever been to. Me and my wife got tattoos from James and Ryan, the experience from start to finish was seamless. Start to finish we got there at 6:30 and were eating dinner at the Twisted Root by 8:00. I can’t say enough good things about this shop , for all of the people complaining in the reviews about price I thought the price points were extremely fair for an established shop that puts out high quality pieces, you get what you pay for and for something that is staying with me forever I will pay more to know that it is done right. Fantastic experience, will recommend without hesitation and will be back for future work. Thanks Elm Street Tattoo!

Martha Garcia

Great guys here. Son was very pleased with the work

windy nobita

Make sure before U get tattoo, remember ask for price and ask for exactly color u like.Beware if u serious about your tatoo.Dont come here.

Dasha Hager

Josh did a fantastic job on my moth.. It healed quickly and is one of my favorite tattoos now! Can’t wait to go back for more!:)

Tasja Sachs

Phil LaRocca is the absolute man! He really listens to what you're looking for in a tattoo and creates designs that come out better than you could have ever imagined! I enjoy getting work done from different artists, but Phil is one I'll return to again and again. Ask for him!

Chris Spaulding

Good food

STACY WARD

Great place! Oliver is a great guy!

Kelly Hill

Over the past 13 months I have gotten work done by 4 artists at this shop: Lain Freefall, Lindsey Carmichael, Tyson Arndt, and Bryan Black. I have over 75+ hours of work done from multiple shops and artists from around the coasts and DFW metroplex. The atmosphere at Elm Street is clean, eccentric, and complex which helps focal point pain management. The shop assistants are more than helpful keeping the artists focused on their work at hand all-the-while welcoming/helping walk-in’s. From the 35 hours I have spent in this shop all I can say is it’s a special place. Everyone there is kind and treats everyone equal, no prejudice attitudes, like some of the negative reviews read on google. My only regret is not finding this shop sooner. Take it from me if you’re not drunk and open to artist interpretation and suggestions this is the place to go. It’s the only place I’ll go from here on out.

bentley robert

Great place to get unique art

Josh Williams was really cool and did an awesome job on my tattoo!! He was fun and answered all my noob questions nicely. :) I will def use him again.

Chris Alba

They steal people's money and don't honor appointments that were scheduled 3 weeks out!

Faith Jobes

Was visiting Dallas for one day. Called ahead to see about walk ins. Waited juat a little while. Joe (not Josh) was my artist . He was very nice. He is a great artist. A little higher priced but seems good quality, clean, and super nice guy.

Peggy Quilodran-Owen

LOVE IT

Brian Mac

Great staff. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Artists are very skilled and produce awesome work. One of the best tattoo shops in Dallas.

Shanna Jones

Dean was amazing!!! Thank you so much for my new tat. I absolutely love it

Ellie Ehrich

Did a walk-in on a Monday afternoon. Told the artist my idea and he had it drawn up in 20 minutes and it was perfect. I'm so excited to go home to Minnesota and show off my bluebonnet Texas tattoo. The shop itself was cool with lots of stuff to look at. Nice guys, fun to talk to. I'll have to stop by again when I'm back down. Thanks!

IXY SHINAM

got a face tat there, cool af

Tawana Deter

Awesome place! Great work! Love their Friday the 13th 24 hour marathons!! See ya in December if not before!!!

Kathleen Maloney

The guys working were rude as soon as we walked in the door. I have never had worse customer service than what I experienced at Elm Street Tattoo. My friends and I felt belittled when spoken to and felt extremely uncomfortable when we were basically kicked out for not “fitting” their demographic.

Michael Newberg

I swung by while on a work trip and they got me right in. David was my artist. Cool guy and some great work. Everyone in the shop were great. Awesome experience.

Melissa Parsons

Being a fan of Inkmaster, it was pretty surreal to travel from Australia and be able to be tattooed here. The atmosphere was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. I was fortunate enough to walk in and have my tattoo done by Lindsey Carmichael. Absolutely thrilled with the results. Many thanks to the staff who made my visit memorable, and sincere gratitude to Lindsey for being so awesome.

Kidxray Videos

Made an appointment and sent photo of the tattoo i wanted 5 weeks prior to appointment day. I asked them to recommend the best new school artist and that is who i contacted. When the appointment day came, i drove 2 hours to be told that …

Catherine Cruz

Very unprofessional. Especially to several people. You don't pay upfront then scam people out of their money. I will never go here. Friendly staff. Very poor ownership.

Leticia Armstrong

I've been there many times over many years... Have had nothing but great experiences. Going back tonight for another tat. Date night with the hubby. Keep up the great work guys!

Rie Conley

Got this great tattoo on Friday the 13th. Can't wait for the next 13th.

M Wilkinson

Awesome work. Great colors.

Abdulaziz Faris

worst tattoo shop ever they were so rude and not helpful and they re not professional

Meg Maran

Walked in memorial weekend and Phillip tattooed my fiance and I. I was so pleased with his preciseness and smooth glide I asked if he would fix one on my finger. He reset and did that for me right then. As most places are he was concerned with the ink overtime and placement of everything for best result and he was informative about post op care. Great, painless experience if you can believe that...and I was prepared to cry like an infant.

Travis Snyder

Jacob the tattoo Aritist was super rude and they charge high prices!

Lauren Bowles

I'm so glad I got the chance to have Josh tattoo me, I love the piece he drew and did for me. Thanks man.

Krystal Robinson

6 of us came in for our spouses to get sibling tattoos as walk ins. We were greated when we arrived, everything was very clean, had really no wait, no problem getting the tattoos drawn up & all 3 turned out really good. The 2 artists my husband & his sister had were friendly the one their brother got not so much he just seemed annoyed to be there which was unfortunate but we would definitely come back again. I'm a huge ink master/Oliver Peck fan it was exciting for me to visit the shop. The arist who did my husbands tattoo even hooked us up with some stickers for our rzr for our Instagram.

Samanda Aguinaga

Got my first tattoo here!! Staff members are feiendly and helpful.I met Oliver Peck as well and he was super cool. I'll probably end up getting my second one here soon.

Krystal Bolton

My experience was exceptional. I went straight after work (after 5:00pm) on a Friday because I knew it was going to be less busy compared to going around 8:00pm-10:00pm when there would be a rush of people. I was right! I walked in, there was only a couple people waiting. At first I sat there and waited on someone to greet me but I got up and went up to the counter to get some service. Joe helped me. I came prepared with pictures of what I wanted and the positioning. Everything went very smoothly. Joe was very helpful and patient. Most importantly my tattoo came out great. I got it on my spine which is a difficult place to get a tat and also done in a Hebrew text. My tat was done precisely and the detailing was great. Reasonably priced too. When he was finishing up, the shop was full of people and got very busy which was around 9:00pm. I chose a great time to go in, get what I want and leave satisfied..

Jon Bailey

When bubba wants a tattoo, bubba gets a tattoo. Fast and detailed. Better experience than the last place.

Nick Steer

Mark did a great job on my most recent tattoo. Can’t say enough great things about this place. Worth the wait time. As a guy that has had several tattoos, I’ve always walked out of this place with some of the best results. Hats off to Mark Galvan, for his thorough understanding of what makes a customer happy! Looking forward to round two! Thanks again!

Amanda Barnes

Went in a while back staff was extremely rude. From reading the reviews I see a trend going on here. Also the shop looked dirty. Oliver Peck may be a great tattoo artist but he's just a guy on TV and is the only reason this place is popular. The replies to some of these negative reviews should give potential customers some insight on how customer service is handled here.

CanOfWhoopass

Came in with a reference for what I wanted, asked the artists in the shop who would I be referred to if I wanted the tattoo I requested. They glanced at it and were silent and walked away. Bryan walked up and handed me his card, gave a fair …

Cliff Price

Oliver Peck runs a great shop! Jacob is the man. Does beautiful, classic tattoos with a quickness.

Joni Kerr

I went in last night and from start to finish it was a great experience. My artist was Carl and he was genuinely nice as well as an amazing artist. He took some creative license with what I was wanting and I could not be happier with the result! We will definitely be returning in the future because of the great artists who work here and the great vibe and culture of this establishment! I cannot thank you enough :)

Zach Lybrand

I came in and took advantage of their random tattoo for $100 deal. It's a lot of fun, and a great concept. The shop was clean and packed with people for most of the time I was there on Saturday evening. Jacob Young gave me the tattoo I got from the machine (a Sailor Jerry style eagle and anchor), and he did an excellent job on it. Thanks to everyone at Elm Street Tattoo for an unforgettable experience!

Brooke Laraneta

Everyone was friendly and helpful. It was a good experience and I love my tattoo.

Abi Grove

Josh is an amazing talent and even stayed late to finish my husband's tattoo. We are stoked about the whole experience and will be back!

nessi ziv corali

I didn't had any work done yet, but I'm gonna. I went just to check out the place, looks so authentic the staff is very nice welcoming and informative, I met Charles, great guy with awesome attitude! All the artist seems to he very into their work, I really enjoyed the vibe of the place cant wait to start my full body project with this guys, if you're in Dallas I highly recommend to check them out

Paulina Fernandez

Got my Friday the 13th tattoo And met Oliver Peck! So awesome

Ana Mora

Pleasant

Bill McNutt

Everyone there is real chill and professional. They do solid work.

Kelly Gillette

My boyfriend, my sister-in-law, and I all got our first tattoos here last night and a friend got his third and fourth tattoo here. All of them turned out beautiful and exactly what we wanted. I HIGHLY recommend this shop for anyone looking for a first tattoo or looking to add a piece to your canvas. Very professional, fair pricing, perfect results, and friendly staff. 10/10

Dillon Batchelor

Friendly atmosphere with helpful staff. Bryan Black is an awesome artist, very thorough and professional. I was 100% satisfied with the end result of my tattoo. Highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for quality ink.

Hanna Tomilynn

They were very nice, wait was very long. All i got was a tiny tattoo, very small no bigger than a dime and they charged me $80 for it. Its so pricey, Its stupid expensive. The tattoo's lines are not even straight. Very Disappointing

Hoang Kim

They charged me $150 bucks for a small “K” on my neck about 10 minutes. That was expensive for a small K,and it wasn’t exactly the color I want(I want black but it was blue)It look like the cheapest color

Brice Gaertig

I have been coming here for over 10 years. I use the artist Mark Galvan. Patient, and fantastic ability. There are other top notch artists here, but I do not have personal experience. Mark is just that good.

Kathleen Latta

I didn't want to write a negative review but the longer I sit and think about my experience the more i feel i should. The young lady helping all who walked in.... great! Super nice and helpful. She is the reason for those 2 stars! Now in regards to my tattoo artist: James.... Let me just say I have a lot of tattoos and have never posted a review. But to me the worst thing is dealing with someone who seems to totally despise his job or find your tattoo to be "not cool enough to do". I tried to make small talk... which he didnt seem to care for BUT, then to mess up on my tattoo.... I defended this shop to a walk in asking how he knows if the work here is good. I said dude- its oliver peck's shop, everyone here will be worthy. Guess I jinxed myself. My tattoo was done too deep and not to mention the random dot above my tattoo that was ignored until I said... um is that a dot? ( which i still have because I didnt want to make lining so thick to correct his mistake) I am just over all disappointed. I will have to pay more money to get someone to fix this tattoo. I understand they tattoo every single day, but remember those of us walking in to get a tattoo, we are excited.. we shouldn't be belittled because its "not the artist's thing" or "getting all the small tattoos."

PrettyTomboy

Love my tattoo. Amazing atmosphere and staff. Got my first tattoo that required shading, literally went to sleep, my artist worked with such a light hand, two hours felt like 30-45 min. Going back this weekend for my next. Highly recommended.

Todd Laughrey DVM

Joshua did a fabulous job. He is very artistic and professional and will make sure you get exactly what you want. I'll be back. Thank you Josh

Sean McNeill

Can't say enough about this place. Just had a really cool vibe . Got a "get what you get" from a visiting artist during the beginning of a festival. I already want to add to it

Brad Shanks

Love the texas tattoo i got from David. Hes not one for conversations tho

Jon-Paul Andrews

One of the best shops in America, world famous Elm Street Tattoo!

Adriana G

I got there at 6 and got my tattoo at 10.....I would never recomend this place to any anyone i know..

Michael Montoya

I showed up with a decent piece of art to get tattooed and said I was open to artist interpretation. The workers and artists were rude and short with me. Instead of them taking the art and letting their creativity flow, they gave me an email address of an artist. When i emailed him, I received no response. They were totally unprofessional, leaving me waiting at the counter for over 15 minutes even though there weren't any customers in there at the time. I've turned away many possible customers from your studio and I will continue to do so. Totally overrated. Thanks for your time or lack there of it. Have a nice day.

Krystal Smith

Great place! Mark, my artist was AWESOME!!!

Jeff Ennels

Great place. Service was excellent. Artists were wonderful and the prices were reasonable. Will definitely go again.

Elizabeth Villalta

Joe was amazing. I was getting a tattoo going around my wrist and he was very conscientious of the size and placement of words. He re-did the placement a few times until he was absolutely sure everything lined up perfectly.

Ewurakua Amoah

Got to the shop at 10pm, was getting my tattoo at 10:15. I was being kind of annoying deciding what font to get and the receptionist was super kind and patient and gave me all the time I needed to decide. After all it was going to be on me forever. My tattoo took about 10minutes (maybe less) and my artist (David Steed) was super nice and professional. I love my tattoo, and will definitely recommend to others

Danielle Walter

Went in for my first tattoo..i knew what I wanted but didn't have any knowledge to go off of..Bryan Black was great in every way! He was very informative and made sure I didn't make a decision I'd regret. The people here are very knowledgeable, trustworthy, and look after their clients. Don't go anywhere else for your first tattoo!

Jess Bailey

Always a relaxed experience. Fair prices. So many things to look at, you won't get bored.

Ron Hurt

If you like sour beer, this is THE place to go. Good variety of flavors and plenty of other choices. Great food, plenty of options and friendly staff. Highly recommend and was the perfect place to end our day.

richard xlin

Nice people. The price was more than i expected. It was 150 for a simple tattoo. Plus their minimum recommended time tip amount was 15% so it was 180 for a 20 minute tat. But i suppose prices are just higher since my last one five years ago.

Melissa McDaniel

They had to be the rudest people I have ever been around. Sitting with their feet up and no one wanted to help! The one guy that wanted to set up appointment needed to brush his teeth and hair. Absolutely the rudest place I have ever looked …

Robert Alexander

Cool atmosphere with a great staff and awesome tattoos

Logan Cantrell

Honestly the second star is only because of Larocca, that dude is super talented and is cool with his customers. As for the rest of the shop, it’s STUPID over priced, upwards of $300 for something smaller than palm sized. The artists don’t seem to care too much about what you’re doing and I overheard an artist tell a customer “who cares how your tattoo heals, we’re going to have to touch it up anyway because after I tattoo this it’s gonna look like shit when it heals”. Not to mention I got there at 2 when they opened, watched people who came in after me served immediately and was told I couldn’t be tattooed til 5 o’clock when I was told I would be tattooed twenty minutes after I finished signing paperwork. Super disorganized, horrible customer service, and way overpriced considering you can get far better work done in the area for much less. I’m not one to look for bargain tattoos, I value my tattoos enough to pay a lot of money but not when the work is subpar. Save your money and take your business elsewhere.

Lawrence Zaverl

Over priced. The pricing system mores nonsense. Very simple tattoo s. Mine would have been $250 and large, my wife's was small and some. Hers was 200$ the guy said her tattoo was quality to which I asked, so mines not going to be quality. Overall, pretentious, a "eff you attitude." And the worst customer service. Complete ripoff

Jana Johnston

Love my tattoo I got here. James was super nice and he did a great job on what I wanted.

Genevieve Ferran

Nice people and clean place but they gave my husband the wrong tattoo design when he went in for Friday the 13th. We understand it was a mistake but now its permanent. Please pay attention to what you are doing for other people.

bbelleza1

Great place! Love my tattoo artist, Bryan Black! Very knowledgeable. Great overall experience!

Jeremy Britt

Best tattoo shop for people who like tattoos that look like tattoos.
