I'd like to start out with how immensely clean his shop was. It seemed to not have a spec of dust anywhere, so it attracted me right off the bat as someone who has never got a tattoo before. From using new needles for every person to keeping their place tidy I would like to commend them because it truly was impressive. That being said, their professionalism (at least in my experience) severely lacked. I went in to get my first tattoo, new to the whole place, the owner was extremely friendly and just absolutely great. No problem there. Fast forward to when I found what I wanted to get and am currently being inked. As good of a guy the owner is, a tattoo that seems it should have only taken a couple hours took 9+. This is because during the inking process, there were a plethora of interruptions. Don't get me wrong, this is absolutely okay especially when you have a business to run, however what is NOT okay was being charged for the time that that was going on. Under the needle for approximately 4 ish hours cost me about 1000 dollars. Me thinking, okay this is a large tattoo and my first time, it's just what it costs. Wrong. You don't charge someone while you're conducting other business. Just because I'm sitting in your chair and you're talking to other customers, taking a break yourself, does not authorize you to keep me on the clock. After this tattoo was done I then proceeded to go for another (at a different place) and believe me, I asked about the one I had just got a at Skin Deep. Pricing, detail etcetera. Every place I went to (3) laughed in my face for the price I spent on something as minutely detailed as this one was. That is when I made the decision to never return to Skin Deep Tribal. I feel I was cheated, lied to, and given an overpriced tattoo just because it was my first time. I shortly scheduled an appointment with another place to redo, Yes, REDO this tattoo. Now it has the proper shading, detail and looks a hell of a lot better than what it originally looked like. Everything was redone and reshaded and guess how long that took? 3 hours, for 300 dollars, for much better work. Now I would not be so sour if I didn't feel so cheated. You brought this upon yourself Skin Deep. Whether you think you're in the right or not, I have MANY others that think you're in the wrong including me. Now, this is my experience, like anything, your experiences may differ. Again, great people and great place but unfortunately my experience has led me to believe their work and customer service can not be talked up the same way.
