I have always been very happy with the work at Alterations Plus. Their prices are reasonable and they have been able to alter things which I thought would be impossible. I am particularly glad that they provide dry cleaning through an organic based company in Barrington. It's much more convenient for me as its on my way to work.

My grandfather was a tailor and my grandmother a seamstress. If they were alive today this is the place they would own and work at. The level of professionalism and attention to detail is on point.

I brought 2 gowns for my daughter's to be altered. Originally, one of the dresses required a huge amount of work...Rather than just taking my money, Jay explained fully the process required to make the dress fit. He suggested we try to get a smaller size which we did. We picked up that dress today and it looks beatiful!!! Completely satisfied!! He is meticulous and ensures everything fits perfectly. The second dress was extremely expensive...it is for a national pageant. I havery been putting off alterations, worried about the dress being ruined. Yes, we have had this issue with several other businesses in the past. Jay came highly recommended so we brought the dress here. Jay personally inspected the fit and saw some small issues that I missed during my inspection. We left the dress and will be picking it up tomorrow...and there is no charge for the extra work!! The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and ,as I already stated, Jay is meticulous and very professional!! Thank you to Jay and his staff for making my girls look and feel beautiful!!

Very polite, friendly and professional every visit. Alterations have been completed timely and correctly. They do a great job with shirts and dry cleaning too. I send my friends. Don't forget the military and police discount.

We have had an awful experience with this alterations place. My fiancé brought her dress in this past February. She had just a few important requests for her alteration and the seamstresses listened to none of them. The bottom of the dress was diced up, the hem was totally crooked, there's buttons missing, and the zipper is broken. The dress is now ruined, and we have to go to another alterations place to try and salvage it the best we can. Prices here were also outrageous. The owner has treated both my fiancé and members of our family like complete dirt. He's ignorant, obnoxious, and defensive. My fiancé is easy going and kind hearted, and the whole staff of this boutique took advantage of this and walked all over her. I don't want any bride-to-be to have to stomach the emotional turmoil she has gone through. I'd highly suggest taking your business elsewhere.

Don't bother going to this wretched and contemptible establishment. I've heard of 'indifferent customer service' when an employee doesn't care enough about the job to go the extra mile - but this abhorrent place is downright rude, confrontational and doesn't deserve your business. A dear friend of mind is getting married, took her forever to pick a dress (I know because I accompanied her to several dress stores and it was a process, as it often is). She's a kind-hearted and soft spoken young lady and these loathsome varlets took full advantage of her. In essence, they charged her $200 to butcher her dress and disguised this charge as a "deposit." It's beyond repair. And please believe me when I say it's a mess - my girlfriend is a master seamstress. There's nothing that can be done to fix her dress. To their credit, they did attempt to alleviate this by blaming her for the missing buttons. She went back to address this and they shook off her complaint like water off a duck's back. Nothing would be done, and no refund of her deposit will be given. $200 is nothing to scoff at. Depending of the dress you buy, that $200 is a good fraction of what a modest dress would cost. A family member of theirs went back *again* to address how unhappy she was and there needs to be reparations (you know you're running a good business when customer complaints transcends generations). Once again, they told 'em to go sit on it. And if they wanted their $200 deposit back, they'll have to relinquish the dress to them. THEN they'll get their deposit back. Someone needs to explain what the difference between "deposit" and "ransom" is. WHAT IN SAM HILL IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE. THIS WAS ALL SAID BY THE OWNER. The dress cost far more than $200 - and that's beside the point - what a horrible, ghastly proposal to make. Imagine if this was your car you took in for service, they did a hack job and would not issue you a refund. And if you wanted your money back, better hand over the title to your car and walk home. When this was said to her family member who came back, they also told her to "take it to court." And "if everyone who was unhappy with our services wanted a refund, I'd go out of business." And you know what, that's probably the most honest thing Alterations Plus has ever uttered. Broken clock's right twice a day, right? The woman in line behind them when this "discussion" took place walked out after hearing this and told them it was because of the handling of this situation. So way to go, Alterations Plus, you got to keep two Ben Franklin's, and lost at least one customer standing idly by in line. If you're not going to give my long time friend a refund, I'm going to cost you that $200 and then some by reviewing your miserable establishment with as much dignity and respect you show for your customers. Feel free to respond, Alterations Plus - but you do not possess the mental or testicular fortitude to make this right. See you on every other outlet possible to review you! Unabashedly yours, Mr. Anderson

Very quick turn around. I had a zipper put in the back of my son's coat needed because of his physical disability. Although this was an odd request they listened to what I asked and had it completed with in a week. Rachael at the front desk was very nice.

Absolutely godawful place of business. Alterations Plus can't sew a straight line or make a simple alterations without messing up. The despicable owner haunts those who leave bad/honest reviews by threatening lawsuits against them for "defamation." Others said their bad reviews were flagged on Yelp/Google/etc by the owner just to haven't them taken down. I've spoken to several people on Facebook who've visited here can corroborate this, as they too were harassed for giving an honest account of just how detestable Alterations Plus is.

DO NOT HO YO THIS PLACE I brought a suit to this place for alterations. I was .easuredand pinned and told itvwoukd be ready in a few days. I tried twice to pick up the suit but was unable to due to lack of parking. Finally my third attempt I was able to park. I tried on the suit coat and found one sleeve not altered and the back of the coat was puckering at the flap in the lower part of the jacket. The owner said he would have it corrected an itvwoukd be ready the following day. I had bought and planned on wearing the suit for a wedding in two days. Went back the following day....appeared NOTHING WAS DONE TO THE COAT. I asked for half of the $120 I paid and was told they give credit not refunds. WHO WOULD CONTINUE TO LET SOMEONE WORK ON A SUIT THAT THEY COULDNT ALTER CORRECTLY 3 TIMES????? I was and so pissed I just grabbed the coat and left. Needless to say I couldn't wear the suit for the wedding I brought the suit to another tailor here in Somerset. He took one look at it and asked what the hell did they do to the suit coat. He had to undo all the coat and re alter it from scratch....So now its cost me $120 plus to get the suit altered I have yet to wear.

I have an inspiring story to tell. In a world where cynicism and detachment abound, my family had an experience that reaffirmed that goodness, professionalism and genuine care for the customer exists. We found this positive experience at Alterations Plus. My daughter was married this weekend. She felt beautiful and elegant in her wedding gown. That gown was the gown of her dreams, the one that she envisioned wearing while standing at the altar beside the man of her dreams. The joy on her face when she found that gown at the bridal shop was so evident…she was beaming. However, once the alterations began, the seamstress at the bridal shop changed that joy to stress and disappointment. The alterations were of poor quality, the elegance and beauty of the dress were completely changed. We worried that the dress and her elation and joy were changed forever…until we found the wonderful people at Alterations Plus. After giving the seamstress and the bridal shop countless opportunities to right their wrongs, with one week left to the wedding, we decided to bring her gown to Alterations Plus. Alterations Plus is expertly run by Jay who has staffed his shop with a team of specialists in tailoring. This allows Alterations Plus to respond to an emergency such as ours with highest quality and speed and most of all a genuine desire to expertly serve his customers. We brought the gown to his shop at 1:00 and by 4:00 that same afternoon, Mary the most wonderful, kind and genuine person and expert bridal seamstress restored that dress to its original beauty. Most importantly, Mary restored the joy and smile and confidence on my daughter’s face. In addition, Jay arranged for his staff to focus on the two bridal attendants’ dresses and my dress (mother of the bride) as well which was beautifully tailored by Eliana. Jay directed his whole team to focus our entire bridal party. All of the dresses were expertly and beautifully done quickly and in plenty of time. Each of his staff in addition to Mary, that included Johanny, Elianna and Maria worked on each dress with expertise, attention to detail and genuine care for the finished product. When we received the dresses, we were so pleased with the workmanship. Each dress was absolutely beautiful upon completion. We will be forever grateful for Jay and each and every person at Alterations plus for making our daughter’s dream come true. I would be remiss in not mentioning Meghan who is the receptionist there. She is warm, friendly, while be professional and reassuring.Thank you. June 2019

We had a very last minute need for a suit for a wedding, and picked up one and brought it in for alterations on a Wednesday morning. The owner, Jay, had my son try it on, explained how it really wasn't the proper size and while he could do the work he suggested returning the suit for a different size. We did this and didn't get back to his shop until late Wednesday afternoon, tried on the suit for the tailor, and left it for alterations. The suit was ready for pick up by 5:00 PM on Thursday, which was about an hour before we had to leave. The fit was perfect. Jay knows men's clothing and is a great source of knowledge, and the tailor's work was impeccable. September 2019.

Fixed my special zipper no problem

Nice enough but it lost $80 for a hem on a simple bridesmaids dress. Place was nice and did fine work but not $80 hem good.
