I recently started a degree program where I have to wear business clothes every day. Before I had never been a fan of business clothes, they never fit me right. Well Ali at A-1 was the solution I've been looking for. I've taken all my shirts and most of my pants to him. They now fit exactly like I want and I'm finally excited to wear them out. His prices are extremely reasonable and he's always gets the job done on time. If you've been looking for a tailor look no further, just go to A-1.

I've had 2 dress shirts, 2 jeans, 1 heavy jacket, 1 light jacket, and 1 pair of dress pants altered here. I am extremely pleased with the results and the service. The prices are more than fair as well. Ali is very good at what he does and I will be his customer for as long as I live in the Triangle. Every man needs a good barber and a good tailor. After moving to Morrisville from New York City, I was concerned about meeting these needs - NOT ANYMORE! If you are on the fence about selecting A-1 Alterations, I hope my review solves your dilemma. Now, get those dress shirts tailored - you look like a fool with your shirt billowing out of the back of your slacks.

Every interaction I've had with the owner of A-1 has been VERY off putting. I only used his services because he was on the recommended list from my dress shop and 2 minutes from my apartment. I am in a wedding next week and needed my ($300 Designer) dress altered. I've never gotten anything altered before, so I didn't know how it went. So I called him to ask for a base price and he was very short on the phone and said it would depend on the dress. Okay cool. So I got my heels that I was planning on wearing and went in. He doesn't speak the best english, and again, is very rude and short when speaking. He rushed me through while measuring what I needed done. He told me the dress would hit the floor and even so when it was fluffed out past my feet. He never called me when my dress was finished and when I went in to pick it up, I tried it on and it was 2in too short and hung up off the ground!! He charged me $95 when I dropped the dress off for a dress with 3 layers! He made the straps too short because he didn't pin them and it came up way too high on the chest! He tried telling me thats what we discussed and that dresses are SUPPOSED to be like that. (What is this the 1930s??) He even had the audacity to ask if the other bridesmaid's dresses hit the floor and when I said yes, asked me if I had physically seen them to confirm! We asked him who the owner was and he said the owner never comes around and he doesn't see them but then later changed his story that HE was the owner! So not only is he terrible at alterations, he's also rude and a liar. I had to pay an additional $45 to get my dress fixed. When I went to (the amazing!) Lee's Tailors at Crabtree, the dress was UNEVEN all the way around. I had to return my heels and now have to wear flats to this wedding because my dress barely brushes the ground with flats on. PLEASE save yourself the trouble and take your business somewhere else! Worst experience ever.

I use him for hemming pants--he does exactly what I ask in the time he says and for a more than fair cost. I'm a repeat customer. [He provides a service we used to expect but now, sadly, have come to regard as special. Nevertheless, he's good!]

I am from New York and I run a apparel company. I have been searching the Triangle for months to get good quality service like home. A-1 is A-1 for real.
