When I lived in Bridgeport years ago, I used to go to Carlos' place on Halsted. My daughter needed a bridesmaid's dress hemmed for a wedding. I didnt know where to go where we live now, so I brought her to Carlos' now on 31st. They had the dress for over two and half weeks and said I could pick it up on the 4th of September. I went down to pick it up at 1pm, they had not even begun to work on it yet then said to me it wouldn't be ready until 5pm per the receipt. NEVER did anyone say that to me when I brought the dress in and what they said was a 5 on the receipt, I thought was an S circled. I didnt know what it stood for. Now I told them it was for a wedding and my daughter had to go back to school so I needed to send the dress down to her. I couldn't wait for the dress, so my sister went to pick it up. She told Carlos how disappointed we were with the length of time they had the dress and the amount of money they were charging. What he did next was so unprofessional, he spoke to his workers in Spanish about my sister not knowing that she speaks and understands the language very well. All he kept saying was that his business is up 110% and he wasn't worried about our business. Needless to say, I will never go back. And the alterations weren't done correctly! Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else!

Carlos and team have handled all of my alterations for at least 10 years. Practically every garment I purchase needs altering in one way or another. I've never been disappointed and wouldn't think of using anyone else. Always professional and courteous.

I went to Carlos for many years to tailored jacket, coat, and shirts. But this time, I went to tailored some pants for the first time and did not tapered the pants to my requested even when measurements were provided. They lack the skills to tapered pants. Please do not prepaid the service as he will not give you a refund or make corrections to a certain extend. I prepaid the service as I trust their skills due to my past experience, however, this is a lesson learned. Only pay when the service is completed to your satisfaction. Due to this incident, the customer service is terrible. In addition, service was delay again and again. He is always in a rush and not really listen to the customer as he think he know it all. This can be avoided if he listen carefully and do it correctly the first time. At the end, pants were never tapered to my requested which I loss time and money. I am not satisfied with the service. Therefore, I highly do not recommend Carlos's Tailor Shop.

My family and I have been going to Carlos for years, and have always been happy with the service. We have followed him from his old location on 35th and Halsted to his present location. This location is not far from the old one; but it's easy access to the express way. So near or far you should give Carlos a try for all your tailoring needs. (he has a couple of dressing rooms available for easy changing).

I went here to get my bridesmaid dress tailored. I used to go to Sue (she was nearby) but she has since long gone. I think compared to Sue, Carlos is slightly higher, but it’s hard to compare apples to oranges with clothing and hard to find someone to trust with your clothing. I would trust Carlos. And I would come back because generally speaking, this shop’s prices are competitive and cheap compared to others. My dress hem was the perfect length (it had two layers of chiffon and one lining)

Carlos and staff are top notch in all aspects. Priorly getting all alteration work done at a nearby tailor - I was set at finding a more professional route for a new (and $$$) Versace suit. Dropped it off in the middle of prom season and somehow, as he promised, he was able to accommodate my urgent alteration deadline. The thing fit and appeared as if it was straight out of a GQ magazine. These guys had great knowledge and skills when it came to my alteration, and the attention to detail was incredible. Highly recommend these guys for any work or updates you need done on your wardrobe. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. Work was so on point I'll be taking all my alterations- jeans, suits, and everything in between to Carlos going forward.
